Basic Woman January 2021 Review

White Camisole, Size Large

What's not to love about a crisp white cami? It is a blank canvas, suitable for nearly any look. This is my second cami from Basic Woman, and I say keep them coming! The length is perfect for a comfortable tuck, the width accommodates my chest without any stretching and the neckline is modest. I can also say that this is the softest and most comfortable camisole I've ever had.

Nude Low Cut Socks

Last month, I received a pair of Basic Woman's low cut socks, and I seriously underestimated how much I was going to enjoy them. They are thin, yet well crafted, and I wore them a lot last month in my ankle boots and at home inside my cozy slippers. Well, move over last month's socks, because this month's basics are even better! This pair is thicker and definitely more suitable for winter! I have only worn these once in sneakers and ankle boots and haven't had any issue with them slipping into either shoes.

I also love this month's earthy pattern.

Nude Bikini Bottoms, Large

Another well-crafted undergarment! This subscription consistently sends the same style and cut of underwear every month, and I am happy to build a collection. My favorite detail is the rubberized band around the leg and hip; it prevents unwanted fabric drifting or bunching and makes for an all-around comfortable fit.

Verdict: Basic Woman makes up some of my favorite basic pieces. Their tops are slinky and eco-friendly, and I can't get enough of their stylish, understated sock patterns. Their products are soft, comfortable, and built to last; $19.99 per month is an excellent value for 3 basic items that feel and look great.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I just looked back at all the reviews and wish there was a bit more customization. I wish there were more undies styles (I like to change it up), you could pick between a few sock styles, and I could say no crop tops! I’m a chesty woman so don’t ever wear skinny strapped camis like that (I wear thicker banded tanks instead to cover my bra straps or tshirts). I just really wish you could customize a BIT. I would pay a few more dollars to be able to ensure I get a tshirt or thick strapped tank each month (change up the color, though, that part can be a surprise!) and just low and no show socks (again, I’m open to mystery colors!).

I do MeUndies now with the monthly undies sub for $14/month. I like that I can change between thong, bikini, boy short, etc. It’s helping me replace my whole underwear drawer with options for every occasion! I love sleeping in the boy shorts! I also love adding on their bralettes every other month or so. I have gotten the MeUndies socks but didn’t like them. It is definitely pricier than Basic Women’s but until there is some customization available, I don’t see myself switching. I want variety in my undies and don’t want a bunch of tanks and tall socks, just based on my personal preferences.

Is the cami see through? My white T-shirt from them is.

Mine definitely is. It’s so soft and comfy though- going to use it for sleeping

Thanks for reviewing this. I am going to sign up. The t shirts and tanks are so far close to 100 percent cotton, bamboo or tencel, which is what I really want now for under garments to have under a sweater or cardigan or to wear to bed. These fabrics are great if you sweat a lot at night whether from hot flashes or just being a hot sleeper in general.

Plus these fabrics are quality and will hold up.
