December 2020 So Susan Color Curate Review
Our included info card had a super cute shell design and a list of all of the products inside.
Limited-Edition Makeup Bag, December 2020 - Retail Value $12.00
The pattern this month is giving me major Whoville vibes! I love the bold colors and jolly presents with giant bows, it makes me feel the holiday spirit. The inner lining is water-proof which is a must in all makeup bags.
Trifle Cosmetics Eye Candy Highly Pigmented Eye Shadow Duo - Retail Value $14.00
I received the orchid and silver in this eye shadow duo. The shadow went on almost like a cream shadow with very little fallout and was super buildable. On my arm, the shadow looks really light, but after a lot of building, I was able to achieve the dark orchid color that I was hoping for. You can always go lighter though! I love that this duo works well together, I did the orchid and the silver as an accent on my brow bone. This shadow is vegan, hypoallergenic, paraben-free, and phthalates-free. While I don't wear orchid tones that much anymore, I love the glamorous look that I was able to achieve with this duo and can't wait to wear it for a special occasion!
Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lustrelux Glow Primer, 0.50 fl oz. - Listed Value $18.00
I started to fall in love with using primers back in the spring. I used to only use one when I was at a wedding or getting photos taken, but now I use a primer daily. It really does make a big difference! This is a cream-based primer that you can apply after moisturizing over your face and neck. It helps with makeup application, giving you lasting makeup throughout the day with little creasing, and it gives your skin a natural glow. I have been using this primer for a few days and am loving the results! It doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky or greasy, I haven't had any issues with breakouts from clogged pores, and it really helps to improve my makeup application process.
So Susan Cosmetics Shadow Barricade Anti-Crease Shadow Primer, 0.13 fl oz. - Retail Value $24.00
I never had this issue until recent years, but I always seem to have creases from my shadow or my eyeliner by the middle to the end of the day. I have really sensitive eyes so I don't always use a primer on my lid, but when I do I notice a big difference in how my shadow wears throughout the day. I was excited to give this brand a try to see if it would irritate my eyes. Luckily it did not! This primer is super light and is made with Resveratrol and skin-nourishing Gotu Kola Extract, a little of it goes a long way. I just added a tiny bit to my lid and massaged in with my finger before applying my shadow. This worked really well in keeping my shadow and liner in place throughout the day!
So Susan Cosmetics Butterstain Lip & Cheek Cream Palette in “Bitten” - Retail Value $35.00
I am normally not a huge fan of using a cream base blush on my cheeks, but boy do I love this palette! All three of the colors are honestly perfect for me. In the photos above I have the Biscotti on my lips and Buttercream on my cheeks. The cream glides on like butter, it's so smooth, and each color is very buildable but I would say a little goes a long way so don't go heavy-handed to start. This is made with Wild Flaxseed Oil and Shea Butter to keep skin moist, Avocado Oil, Resveratrol, and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5. This is one palette that has quickly become a staple for my daily makeup routine, I am in love!
Verdict: This was my first time receiving So Susan Color Curate and wow was it amazing! The lip and cheek palette was the shining star for me since all three colors are perfect for my skin tone. Both primers are working really well for me, not clogging my pores or irritating my eyes, and they are working to keep my makeup in place throughout the day. While I won't be using the shadow duo too often, the colors are would be great to use for a special occasion. This month has a value of $103 which is an incredible deal for a $20.59 bag. This felt like the perfect beauty treat in a bag for me and gave me products that I will use all the time! I could see this being a great gift for any makeup lover or even someone that is just newly starting to venture into the beauty world!
