Medusa's Make-Up November 2020 "Glow-Getter" Review

Along with my beauty items, I received an info card that details what items are in the box.

This month's box also included a Black Friday Sale notice for Medusa's Make-up (30% off!) and a 10% off code for a Halo Glow Face Stick.

The theme this month is "Glow-Getter" – getting you all glammed up for the holidays!

Medusa's Liquid Matte Lipstick in Hanky Panky, 6 ml, Retail Value $14.00

This liquid matte lipstick boasts of a stay all day formula, and there are no lies detected! Rich and velvety when applied, this lipstick dries on your lips in a matter of seconds giving you the ultimate matte stain.

I love this rich plum color! When I tell you this matte stays, it STAYS! Soap and water won't do to remove it. I used makeup remover followed by coconut oil, and FINALLY, this came off. While ultra-matte, my lips didn't feel desert dry. I did however put chapstick on before applying.

Seraphine Botanicals Palmetto & Pillow Hydrating Matte Lip Stain, 4 ml, Retail Value $18.00

This item was the featured brand for this month's Medusa's Make-Up Box and is in the color AZALEA. The first thing I noticed upon opening the lip stain was the smell. It's divine! Light and florally – I couldn't wait to try it. The stain is made with sunflower and baobab seed oil along with other extracts to keep the lips moisturized and healthy.

For a matte lip stain, the consistency was a lot more hydrating than most. I didn't even feel the need to apply chapstick before or after applying the stain. The color mimics the smell! Sweet and florally. A nice pigmented color to brighten any blue days during winter and to remind you of spring!

Love Byrd Afterglow Facial Serum, 1 oz, Retail Value $28.00

Love Byrd is a brand focused on all-natural skincare.  This was my first time trying a Love Byrd product and I was definitely impressed! The two ingredients in this serum are grapeseed oil and pink grape fragrance oil – that's it! Grapeseed oil is great for acne-prone skin.  The serum is light and smells amazing! Such a great feeling on a freshly washed face. My fave item in the box for sure.

Medusa's Mystical Eye Dust, Retail Value $11.95

This eye dust is in the color Chrysaor (the son of Medusa- check out the lineage story here!) and magical it is!

The SHIMMER! The shimmer in this deep rose gold dust is giving me life! It's so pretty! This dust is highly pigmented, so you need only a little to achieve a stunning look. I'd most likely use this as a highlighter and eye shadow, but you can also use it on your lips. Two snaps for versatility!

Verdict: This was my first review of Medusa's Make-Up Box and I am in LOVE! The products are vegan and cruelty free AND beautiful...YES! My favorite item this month was the Love Byrd Afterglow Facial Serum as I have acne-prone skin and am always trying new products for it. That's not to say though that the other items weren't in a close second, because I truly loved them all!  The retail value for these items comes to $71.95, which is worlds more than the cost of the subscription.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you'll likely receive the December box. Orders are generally processed within 1-3 business days.

Value Breakdown: At $18.95 for this box, here's what you're paying for each item:

  • Matte Lipstick - $3.69
  • Serum- $7.37
  • Lip Stain- $4.74
  • Eye Dust - $3.15
