I loved my dec GBP. I received the wild carrot serum, gray green nail polish(the brand is awesome), il makiage purple/plum eyeshadow, tula sugar scrub, qms night and day cream (Works amazing. I have to find more.)

They have done pretty well in picking things for me. My bag is always 2/3 skincare to makeup.

This is a makeup/skincare subscription. I’m glad that it’s just makeup/skincare. If you like more lifestyle products, try fabfitfun. I mean if you had the subscription for a year, of course you’ll be overloaded and of course nothing is new or exciting…it applies to having too much of anything.

I’m intrigued by the spoilers, but am more interested in seeing what they offer on Choice day. The Spoilers can be a little misleading because you won’t necessarily get any of the products they list. I was Glam bag member a few years ago and then canceled because the contents of the bags were becoming meh. I re-signed up a couple of months ago for Glam Bag Plus and enjoy it a lot more. I’ve only had maybe one or two products in my past 2 bags that I didn’t like/couldn’t use.

Like other posters, I am also tired of seeing repeated brands and products. How many times have they put an Ofra highlighter in the mix? Seems like every time.

Iv gone on eBay and bought 4 dr. brandt microdermabrasion ( full size, 2 oz blue tube) for less then $30. A lot of ppl put products from Ipsy up for sale..Iv also stocked up on Murad AHA/BHA cleanser and Murad hydration toner. Iv never had a problem with authenticity. Same goes for the Allure boxes..if you only like 1 or 2 products from a box, check eBay.

When did Ipsy start having Welcome Bags? In the past when I resubscribed it would give me next month’s bag not the current month. They aren’t very forthcoming with this information either because no where do I see this stated on their website.

Reply ButtonReply

Danha

So does that mean you didn’t get to choose your one item?

Reply ButtonReply

jamie

wowwww!!! January box will be the best box ever!
I spot on IGK. It’s soooooo good.
One of my top favorite haircare item 😉

Hey! just a question for all you who are already ipsy members.. So, I just signed up today for the glam bag plus, and I’m getting the “welcome bag”. Its already all picked for me…I’m not trying to complain because I feel like the items they have in the bag are things I will definitely use, but they look like smaller or maybe deluxe sample items. Does anyone know if the welcome bag is full sized items? I’m only asking because I feel like its almost a waste of a plus bag if I’m not able to pick any items for my first bag and if they’re sending me sample sized products that would be in a glam bag. Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

I got a welcome Glam Bag Plus in October and though I was disappointed that I couldn’t choose – they gave me some really great full sized products including a full size Sunday Riley A+ retinol serum, a Huda obsessions palette, a Ciate setting powder, an eye cream and the Laruce 4 piece brush set. I was quite happy with the bag.

Reply ButtonReply

Betty

My bff received the exact glam bag plus in October.👍

Blue

If you signed up for Glam Bag Plus you will get nothing but full sized items. They don’t do sample not even deluxe sample in the plus bag. You will be billed on the last day of the month for plus and then on the 2nd you’ll get to choose your three items and Ipsy will choose two for you. You’ll get five full sized every month. I was really disappointed in my choice selection the past two months and was bordering on cancelling. Then I got to do my choice today and it was wow. They really stepped up and gave me things I actually like/wanted. The reason you didn’t get to do choice this month is because you weren’t signed up by the last day of November. If you had then you would have got November’s bag chosen for you and been billed a second time for December right away. Then today you would have been able to choose. When I signed up months ago I signed up near the end of the month and it happened like that.

Appreciate your input. Thank you! I am def happy with the welcome bag picked for me, great products and stuff I needed too! I was with FFF for a little while and their boxes have been kind of declining, probably because of covid?! both the fall and winter boxes I was not too happy with their options, even with being able to pick most of my box.. So I’m not going to be renewing this spring with them, plus their stuff just seems kind of cheapy-ish(not a word..lol) once you have the product in your hands. My sister gave me a few things from her glam bags in the past and I’ve always been more than happy with every product that she pawned off to me lol. So I’m excited to start my sub with IPSY!! 😉

Sheryl

Okay, this is going to be long winded but I’m feeling some type of way!

I just did choice for my Glam Bag Plus a bit ago and once again after I made my choices and tried to confirm I was told the thing I actually wanted most was sold out and to try again. And then my choices they replaced them with were TERRIBLE!

I ended up with 3 Complex Culture products this month (and another in Ultimate) because all my other choices were things I already had received from Ipsy, things I already had, or the same types of things I was getting in Plus or Ultimate or that I had no interest in. Why do I need 3 other brow product choices when Ipsy picked the Complex Culture brow gel to send to me? I don’t. Plus I had only 2 skin care choices, one of which they’ve already sent me, the rest was makeup, and not even good makeup, and most of the choices were marked to rarely receive on my beauty profile. So I was forced to choose Complex Culture, which does have some nice products, but they are Ipsy owned. I’m getting the blush/bronzer, setting powder, and brow gel along with the eyeshadow palette in my Ultimate. Last 2 in the bag are the tiny serum and the IBY palette, also Ipsy picked. I feel like I’m getting an Ipsy branded bag and I’m not thrilled by it.

Ultimate wasn’t much better as I’m getting a black liner (rarely receive), black mascara (rarely receive), oil control moisturizer (very dry skin that never ever gets oily and haven’t had a zit in 7 years+ I have to add oil on my face at 3x day or I flake). I don’t think they are using my profile at all. Glad Ultimate is ending.

And I HATE that they took that Kate Somerville goat milk moisturizer for January and stuck it in that cheap, awful, plastic container. They didn’t do it to save the oceans. They did it to save money! I bought it in add ons last month and it’s so liquidy that drips everywhere and even when it doesn’t the liquid from the lid drips and leaks out of the jar when you screw on the lid. There’s a reason Kate Somerville sells in in a pump lid jar. I rated it 3 stars last month because of this and if they send it to me I will be livid. Boxycharm doesn’t send or sell things in cheaper packaging but Ipsy routinely does. They changed the Byroe packaging too and took away the nice pump top on that as well. Maybe it’s just me, but I find it very annoying.

Reply ButtonReply

Stacy Jianniney

Boxycharm doesn’t even use the quiz AT ALL. It used to say so right on the homepage and customer service has told me multiple times the quiz is only to gauge interest in items for future boxes. Yes Boxycharm OFTEN uses different formulas just look on the skincare or eyeshadow palettes and many say “boxycharm exclusive” or “made for Boxycharm” or if you check the ingredients they are completely different than the listed ingredients on the website. I have the Kate Sommervile and it is very liquidy no matter the container. A lot if times they don’t want to send pump containers in sub boxes because of the increased chance for breakage or leakage. Yes Covid has effected a lot of things and a lot of companies from product availability to shipping times. A lot of times your items to pick from are affected because they don’t have a lot of different items to send. Now that Ipsy has bought Boxycharm I’m hoping both companies can learn from each other as far as what works best for each so they both improve but stay separate enough to appeal to different customers. Not everyone likes the same things though so it’s hard to please everyone every month

One thing I’ve learned is u cannot rate things 3 stars u dont like. One star only. Example, If you hate receiving mascara but you got one you kinda dig and rate it 3 or 4 your now getting mascara choices in the future no matter what u have it set as. If it’s a item u never want to see, one star only, no matter the brand no matter what

Reply ButtonReply

Jamey

Interesting!!! Thank you for this information. I will have to try doing it that way vs me rating my “low” stuff 3 stars .

Laurie

Rating items you never want one star does indeed work and it seems to bypass the quiz. When I was brand new to Ipsy, two years ago, I rated a nail polish one star because the brush was awful and very difficult to use. I haven’t received another nail polish since and I’m a little sad about that. I have nail polish, and all the color families, set to ‘frequently’ but have only ever received that one nail polish.

Sheryl

Really? Thank you, I never would have known to do that. It kinda sucks tho, because apparently I’ve screwed myself because no matter how annoyed I am to get something Iike a repeat or a send rarely item I’ve always worked hard to rate each item on it’s own merits and not let Ipsy factor into it. That explains the constant barrage of black eyeliners and mascaras. I usually get tons of skin care options and a liner and/or mascara but the last 2 months it’s been crickets 🦗. I don’t know what happened but I hope it changes back. Gonna blame it on Covid and move on. But filling out my reviews is gonna to be a lot easier from now on. Does the same hold true for Boxycharm?

Alice

Finally got in to December selections. The site was down all morning. Super pleased with everything.

Ipsy just sent an Ofra highlighter 2-3 months ago. Half these products they have either sent us a version of in the same brand recently or they have been in other sub boxes in the past few months. Also the Wander Beauty brand needs to stop showing up. The quality of the stuff is terrible. I’ve gotten several items in that brand from two different subs and all of the products are grainy, not smooth, and feel like dollar store products. They are also not true to color/shade. Depending on how my December gbp goes I may just cancel Ipsy. I’m tired of them sending me stuff that I don’t want and that is marked rarely on my profile. They even sent me a foundation that was suppose to be in my skin tone and it was for someone with a more tan/bronze tone to their skin. The only one in my house who would be able to use it is my Hispanic husband and he doesn’t wear foundation.

Reply ButtonReply

Jamey

I agree with you. Wander beauty is HORRID. I got sent this lip stuff and it broke me out…their mascara looks amazing, but makes my eyes water and it looks like I am sitting there crying when I’m not…their foundation is really orangish or has odd undertones for me, plus the foundation formula is bad and cakey…I’ll stick with marc Jacob’s or nars, or hourglass Anyday…their stuff is worse then drugstore brands for me. I tried the lip oil stuff out thinking it would be okay, and it was fine until I woke up the next day and had little bumps all around my mouth and my upper lip below my nose red and dry. Threw it away and I am still trying to get the bumps under control.

And ipsy does recycle the same stuff. I have noticed it as well in the past year or so. This month for plus I am getting an il makiage eyeshadow in jackpot that I’ve already recieved back in july, ive emailed them and they dont care.

Whatever they have going on there is a mess and it’s almost like ipsy is a drugstore type stuff and boxycharm is higher end…and I’m sure ipsy will ruin boxycharm now they acquired this as well. But I’m about to cancel them. I’ve been subbed almost 7 years straight and the products I get sent, along with customer service (they used to have amazing customer service, within the last year its went bad) .

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Wow!! I love Wander products. I have never ever received a Wander item I wasn’t impressed by. The mascara is the absolute best for me.

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

Agree. Mile High us my favorite mascara. The brush is perfect.

Marcie McAuliffe

I agree! I love Wander…especially their two sided concealer. One side is a stick and other is a liquid which is meant to brighten.

Nicole

Why you gotta be so hard on Wander? Lol! They are over priced and show up way too often in these boxes, I’ll certainly say that. I’m going to have to disagree on the dollar store quality though. I’d put them more in the category of higher end drug store products. They make some really nice mascara’s and I have a clear brow gel from them that I love! I often use one of the eyeshadow palettes I was sent awhile ago, it’s one of my favorites. I’d put it right up there with my top brand palettes. Yes, I’m tired of seeing them everywhere, but I feel like calling them dollar store is a bit harsh.💁

Reply ButtonReply

Blue

I say that because I’ve used the products. I received a foundation and not only was the color not “light” it was tan in a “light” listed tube but when I tried it thinking it was light it was horrible. It was very grainy and would not smooth down at all. It was very thick and not at all like a good or high quality foundation should be. I have drug store brands like Revlon and Maybelline foundations that are silkier and go on looking perfect. The only thing of Wander Beauty I didn’t try was the mascara because I don’t wear it. I have two tubes just sitting in my bathroom in a container. The brand’s quality isn’t good enough to be in these boxes. We don’t sub to get something with the quality of Walmart and Target we sub to get the nicer brands we would normally not buy so that we can try them and see if they are worth the hype and money. Ipsy is beating a dead horse at this point. They need to update the brands they are putting in boxes. Right now it feels like they are trying to ditch old stock. I will say that I did my choice for December today and was a lot happier than the previous two months. I got an outstanding bag even with my 3rd choice being a bit meh. They did choose for me something I already got in their July gbp but the quality was good enough that I can overlook them sending a double within just months.

E

I like everything? What???

Reply ButtonReply

Alice

These are fantastic spoilers. I haven’t tried any of them. January looks great. I would love to switch the drawstring bag for a sixth item.

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

Agreed. The drawstring bags do nothing for me. When I had the regular old Glam Bag some years ago I dug the little zipper pouches. They ones I didn’t keep I gave to my daughter to dispense to her friends. The drawstring bags are a bit cheap feeling and just lay in a neat pile in my bathroom cabinet. I’d go so far as to say that they could just put the products in a recyclable box with no drawstring bag and I’d be fine with that.

Reply ButtonReply

Dina

If you have been receiving subs for a while, you probably have most of these. I do, anyway.

Reply ButtonReply

Dana Beery

Agreed. Already skipped December, will most likely skip January now. Thinking seriously about canceling. I wouldn’t use any of these 🤷🏻‍♀️

Reply ButtonReply

Christa H.

Possibly skipping🤔

Reply ButtonReply

CATFANCY36

Nope. Not feelin these spoilers so I skipped for January 🤷🏻‍♀️

Reply ButtonReply

Mackenzie

If I were to subscribe today (12/1), would the first bag I receive be December’s or January’s?

Reply ButtonReply

Trisha

If ur liking these spoilers and want January’s bag you need to sign up now. Because your first bag is going to be the welcome bag. If u sign up in Jan u will miss all this and get the welcome bag than.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

You might not receive either. As of a couple of weeks ago, there was a waitlist. Your best bet is to reach out to Ipsy.

December bag

Betty Jones

I’m fairly new to Ipsy. So I really can’t complain. I have noticed that in the short while I’ve been with Ipsy I’ve gotten to many mascaras. And I really haven’t been exited about any of them. I even received one that was dried out. I would love to see foundation and warm tone eyeshadow palettes. I haven’t got any perfume or hair products. Like I said I’m new to Ipsy and I’m giving them a chance to get better in later glam bags( plus )to come. The future is ours to see! Thanks ,Betty Jones

Reply ButtonReply

Danyi

Get used to an overload of mascaras, eyeliners and highlighters. I’ve been in GBP since February 2019 and still haven’t gotten fragrances, at this point I would even trade one of my full size items for a sample of fragrances in GP.
The foundations, at least for me being Latina, never got an accurate or even close tone, so a hard no to me, but they have sent some. Good thing for you is that ipsy tends to include a lot of warm tones eyeshadow palettes, and since now with have 3 choices, you’ll probably get one you like soon.

Reply ButtonReply

Betty

Let me know if you get in your Ipsy.I haven’t received any perfume as a choice or add-ons. What brand and or eyeshadow palette have you gotten recently?

Jean

Make sure you review each item you receive and adjust your beauty quiz. I do think it helps you get better choices.

Reply ButtonReply

Betty

Thanks, for helping me! I will do that in the future!

JRose

I am all in for January, nice skin products! I have a feeling it will be February I will skip with the new bag coming out.

Reply ButtonReply

Betty

Patrick Ta is going to be in the new Glam bag X . I’ve only heard good things about his brand. The glam bag X is quarterly And starts in February.I wasn’t impressed with the makeup that Ipsy chose for me but I was able to get skin care products . Also I got hair products through add-ons. Over all my Glam bag and Glam bag plus and Boxycharm turned out to be amazing! Thanks Ipsy ,Thanks Boxycharm

Reply ButtonReply

Lori Bateman

It’s not just his products in the glam bag x it is products he choose so there will be a vouple of his but there is also a really awesome huda pallete and a pat mcgrath mascara that i am looking foward too. Best part it is 8 items not five and we still get to choose three

Ouwala

Maybe I’m a Debbie Downer, but I’m REALLY glad that December is my last GBP and GB! The January bags are lacking in imagination, the products are SO similar to things we’ve gotten in the past (except for the cannabis eye gel – but it’s not a deal-breaker for me). Mascara, eyeshadow, moisturizer, lip stuff…every month. SO infrequent are the nail polishes and perfumes or the fun extras that make it worthwhile. I was excited to get some really quality (and expensive) serums for a very small price (in comparison)…but after two years, I’ve got enough of the other things to last the rest of my life…and then some. MIX IT UP! Have MORE fingernail polishes, perfumes, shampoo/conditioner, hair brushes, earrings, ANYTHING else besides boring BLACK eyeliner, boring BLACK mascara, and all the other ‘usual’ suspects.
Ipsy was fun while it lasted, but I’ll keep my [almost] $40 a month from now on.

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

Right? I think if I could pick I’d take an eyeshadow palette, a perfume (spray only, no dab on or rollerball), a nail polish, a lifestyle/jewelry item, and then one other item that they could pick. I would LOVE to receive more fragrance.

Reply ButtonReply

Valerie

Ok, so December is your last month with Ipsy because it is so awful so you came to the January reveals to ruin everyone else’s fun? Interesting…

Reply ButtonReply

Ouwala

Ok, so I just made my choices – and although I LOVE Dr.Brandt’s stuff…I got the SAME THING LAST MONTH! I opted to get it, because the other choices were cheap nonsense…but COME ON! AND AGAIN I didn’t get the option for the fingernail polish?! Good grief…and goodBYE Ipsy!

Reply ButtonReply

Jean

Hear, hear about the lack of variety in liner and mascara colors. I’d love a plum mascara or a vivid blue felt- or brush-tip liner. I never use black liner and I prefer black-brown to black mascara so I end up gifting or trading a lot of the items I receive.

Reply ButtonReply

Marie Sturges

I like a variety of eye liner also. I hope it is ok to say. I was in ulta and got a little fine liner brush. I put a little water on it and now I have liner in any shade I want. It makes my pallet more vertical. I have been looking on IPSY for that brush. But can’t find one.

Nicolette

They look like good products. But there isn’t anything I want so far. I’ll let the ppl who would rock these products have at it. Nothing sparks me unfortunately. I just don’t need any of these

disneyjoy1970

Dang! January is shaping up to be great. This is how you start off a new year!

These are the best Ipsy GBP spoilers I’ve seen in a while. I might not skip January.

Ooooo! Really great products and many new and unique! Can’t wait!

Yea, I want them ALL!!!!

I want at least half of these! I was thoroughly unimpressed with December spoilers but forgot to skip so I was planning on cancelling come January but these spoilers have made me reconsider that decision.
