Birchbox The Maskne Kit Review

Here is the info sheet for the products included, along with the prices of their full-size counterparts.

Hero Cosmetics Rescue Balm, 15 mL – Retail Value $12.99

This Hero Cosmetics Rescue Balm is the holy grail for blemish-prone skin. It is literally the first and only post-blemish solution available. Most acne products out there target a zit before you've gone and picked it, but this Rescue Balm is designed to thrust the healing process into hyperspeed and have your skin looking good as new just days after a bad breakout. With my new mask-wearing life, I'm experiencing a lot more breakouts than usual on the lower half of my face. I can't believe it; I'm a 30-year-old lady with acne, or shall I say, "maskne." This product could not have come at a better time. Formulated with Vitamin E, oligopeptides, and shea butter, this one-of-a-kind balm handles four post-blemish issues: red spots, bumps, scaly patches, and dark marks.

Hero Cosmetics Micropoint for Blemishes, 6 Patches – Retail Value $12.99

"Hero" is the perfect name for this brand. These Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Micropoint for Blemishes are designed specifically for combatting acne in the early stages. You know, when you can feel that giant monster zit lurking beneath the surface of your skin, just growing and growing and there's nothing you can do about it until he bursts through? Nuh-uh. Now, you can start shrinking him before he even gets a chance to raise his ugly head with the 173 hyaluronic acid micropoints on the surface of this mighty, mighty little patch. The micropoints are designed to unleash a super-dose of acne-fighting ingredients deep into the core of early-stage acne. These have been a lifesaver at kicking butt along my jawline, underneath my mask.

Hero Cosmetics Micropoint for Dark Spots, 6 Patches – Retail Value $12.99

Dark spots are the bane of my existence. No matter what I do, any blemish heals slightly hyperpigmented. I think I've been cursed. I have broken several mirrors in my life, so I must be in a state of perpetual bad luck by now. But these Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Micropoint for Dark Spots blew my mind. I saw visible results after applying two patches to a dark spot on my chin! It was incredible. It made me want to use these patches all over my face on all my old acne scars and maybe even some non-acne-related scars, too. Formulated with Vitamin C and an advanced combo of other brightening ingredients, these powerful post-blemish patches use 173 dissolving micropoints to fight back against dark spots and brighten and even skin tone.

Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Variety Pack, 26 Patches – Retail Value $13.99

This Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Variety Pack is the gold standard when it comes to pimple patches for me. They have been a staple in my skincare routine that I always kept on hand in case of an emergency. The Invisible+ patches included in this variety pack are basically hidden from the naked eye. I've worn them out and about so I could be treating my acne all day long. Formulated with medical grade hydrocolloid, these patches absorb any gunk or fluid in your pimple so that no picking or popping is needed. I love these patches and will continue to repurchase this variety pack.

The Verdict: I absolutely love this Maskne Kit from Birchbox. With masks being the new normal, I know there are a lot of people, including myself, experiencing the true horror of MASKNE. Releasing this kit feels like Birchbox has heard the people and is giving us what we need. Every item from Hero Cosmetics is high quality and efficient, and everything I received did exactly what it said it would do. I'm thrilled with the Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Micropoint for Dark Spots. I love how quickly I saw results. The Hero Cosmetics Rescue Balm is an amazing product for post-blemish skin and definitely heals up any damaged skin within days. The Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Variety Pack is a tried-and-true, oldie but goodie for me and honestly, I can never have enough on hand. I'm very happy that I got to try the Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch Micropoint for Blemishes. It's the first early-stage acne patch I've tried and it appears to combat my up-and-coming zits before they've even arrived. Birchbox promised a $53 value and this kit has a total estimated value of $52.96, and they totally delivered.
