  1. I’m definitely skipping this box. The last box was so so too. I would prefer at least a sheet mask for each box like we got before.

  2. Not the most exciting and definitely questionable for the new price point. Ciate isn’t my fave brand, everything I’ve gotten from them has been rather subpar in quality. Another liquid black eyeliner is the last thing I need. I’d skip, but the full size mask is interesting enough because my skin hates this time of year. I really hope they step up their game…

  3. Why aren’t there 6 products? Unless everyone is getting the bonus item? It’s a little meh overall for me and definitely doesn’t feel like a holiday or special box at all. I’d feel better if the shadow palette was from a brand that is more consistent in their quality. I don’t use liquid liner and also feel like tons of people probably have black liquid eyeliner anyway. I do like Caudalie though, I wish that was on of the full sized items.

  4. How is the Cetaphil a “bonus” if we are supposed to be getting 6 products now? I don’t know how I feel about that…

  5. I have such mixed feelings about this box – the Dec. box and Allure in general. Before the price hike, I thought Allure was a great box for the price point. I didn’t always love everything, but I enjoyed enough to be happy with it at $15. When they announced the price hike, I debated a ton but ultimately decided to go annual – I figured I liked it at $15/box, I would for sure be happy with it at $13.75 per box, right? And I could decide later if I would like it at $23/box. Except I feel that overall I’ve been less happy with the boxes since October. I’m still good with them at $13.75/box (with the option to cancel at any time and get a pro-rated refund), but I definitely will be cancelling once my annual runs out (or possibly sooner), and I’m bummed to find myself less happy with the boxes now than before the price increase.

    • I feel EXACTLY the same, on every single point!

    • My thoughts exactly. It makes me sad.

    • Agreed. You couldn’t have said it any more accurately.
Perhaps I’m bitter because of the increase but I honestly don’t think I would be happy with this at $14 either. It’s a poor showing all around. I would be angry and disappointed at any price. The quality of the products just isn’t here at any price.

  6. Wait

    You guys

Is Allure the new SlutBox now

  7. I’m on the fence about this one…

  8. There should b at least 6 items in every box (your promise allure )and there is only 5 that we r getting unless everyone is getting the bonus item which is usually not the case so explain allure

    • Why wouldn’t everyone get the cetaphil?

  9. I would have to say that the $23 increase is a down grade not an upgrade because now the box is not worth the price it’s the same as it used to b nothing has changed except the price increase I’m not happy with this change I’ll just stick with Boxycharm

  10. I feel like as long as they have people locked in at lower price they are going to continue sending these type of boxes “Maybe” when everyone has to pay same price they will be better.

  11. I thought the eyeliner was called ByteMe

    (What a bad box).

  12. How do you skip a box?

    • I just called and skipped – they answered right away and were very helpful. 1-800-274-1603

  13. I paid for a years subscription last Feb and I would have cancelled a long time ago if I didn’t pay ahead. I would recommend Birchbox and Ipsy over allure and they are cheaper now since allure increased their price. And for $2 more you can subscribe to Boxycharm and get 5 full-size products, which is a way better deal than what you get with allure. I literally almost forget that my allure box is coming each month, it is so unexciting to me. I tried to email them a few months back to cancel to make sure I wouldn’t be charged for another year in Feb and I never heard anything back so I am a little nervous about how to cancel since there isn’t a way on their website. I love Birchbox, Ipsy and Boxycharm though!

    • If you emailed them already, you have that in your records and can’t be faulted if they say they didn’t get it. You may want to forward that email again asking for a response just in case, but you do have a receipt in writing stating your intent to end your contact

  14. I can’t believe these are the full spoilers. Those LaRoche Posay samples so are teeny, they don’t even count as an item to me. I have received the same Caudalie product with very little inside. I don’t do eyeshadow and we received eyeshadow last month. Like everyone else, I definitely don’t need another liquid black eyeliner. I am afraid to put that mask on my face, because a body butter that has similar ingredients has broken me out in hives for the last 3-4 weeks that itch like the dickens.

When they increased the price they said there would be at least 5 products and 3 full size per box, with a value of over $120, I believe. This is only five items except for the bonus product, and I don’t see how this could add up to $120! I am hoping for a couple of more surprises to be included and maybe something stellar. It is after all December, the biggest holiday month. Isn’t December usually a great month?

    • Sorry, I meant to say at least 6 products.

      • That’s what I thought from what I remember they did say at least six items not only does the box suck but now they r shorting items I will definitely complain

  15. Honestly, at this price point, and near the holiday season, you’d think they’d at least pretend this was some sort of “curation.” It wouldn’t even cost them more to at least try to make the products somewhat related. At least the previous boxes had some innovating products! When I see this, I feel Allure has given up entirely.

  16. Skipping again for the 3rd time in a row ..what a joke black liquid eyeliner blooming liquid eyeliner is the worse , if it was gel or pencil I wouldn’t be so mad .
Unfortunately I didn’t lock in the lower price but when I called to skip last month the women told me December box was going to fabulous!

  17. Oh no, definitely a skip 🙁 It feels extra sad to skip a holiday box, glad I at least kept November. I usually go back and forth on a box that’s not wowing me and think about it, this is just a no for me.

I don’t like Ciate and don’t need eyeshadow. I’m drowning in black eyeliners from all these boxes. I have enough mud masks, though that alone is not a deal breaker. And 3rd La roche-posey product in 4 months? I was happy to see the first one, now I’m tired of it.

Also, current bundles look so much better than the reject bundles we got in Sept/October

PS I’m annual for $13.75, still can’t justify this. Hope next year is better

    • Yeah, the September bundle was leftovers from previous boxes. I ended up pitching most of the duplicates.

Since I’m locked in at the old price, these boxes are okay, but when the renewal comes due, we’ll see.

  18. I am annual so I’m not mad at it. However, if I wasn’t and had to pay 23.00 for this… yeah no… Definitely not worth it in comparison to other subscriptions. I don’t doubt that the value is there, I just think at least one more full size item is needed to make it worth it.

  19. I’m annual so I’m good with this box, but I could see not wanting it for 23. And yes no change between the 15 & 23 boxes.

  20. I like this box way better than the November box (which I skipped). I’ll definitely use the eyeshadow, eyeliner, mask and am very excited to try the claudalie serum. Definitely wouldn’t spend $23 on the box, but since I locked in the lower price, I’m very happy.

  21. I’m glad I paid the lower price per box with the annual subscription, because that makes this box worth it to me. I actually like the products this month a lot!!

  22. I just opened my November box and had brown shimmer eyeshadow, creams and masks. Wasn’t the La Roche Posay thing included in September’s box?

  23. I agree this isn’t the most exciting box and I also agree I wouldn’t choose to buy it for $23. With that said, I have my locked in yearly subscription and so I definitely feel I am getting my money’s worth. I am also looking forward to trying some of the products. I don’t like paying for eyeliner, so I’m happy with that. I don’t like the eyeshadow pallet, so my niece will get that. Any face products that don’t work out, I’ll use as hand/body lotion.

  24. It’s not a bad box, whatsoever. However, I feel as though this curation is the same as when the box was $15.00. I do not see a difference in quality of brands or in number of full size items, to validate the price increase. December will be my last box, as I don’t think it’s really worth the money, anymore.

  25. They are joking right!? This is what $23 gets us now. 🤦‍♀️

    • So glad I didn’t continue my sub. Boxy is better for the price.

  26. I am always quick to defend a box but I just can’t here. There is not a single interesting thing and, outside of Caudalie, are brands you can buy at Walgreens. I had high hopes but apparently a few full size items means Allure is changing to drugstore brands. This will be the first time ever that I am skipping a box – and unlike the lucky commenters so far, I did buy an annual. Live and learn…

    • Same here- I’ve been defending Allure a lot lately (I’ve been one of the few people who have been pretty happy with Allure’s past few boxes, and think that for $165/year, locking in was a no-brainer), but this box… are you kidding me? 100% skipping this. Here are my thoughts/complaints-

Only 5 items? (not counting bonus) I know that 5 items is all they guarantee, and if there was a “hero” item, this would be totally fine, but…

TWO SERUMS? When they already sent a full-size serum in October, another serum in November, and before that, a full-size serum in July. How many serums can a person use? How about sending a cleanser, or an exfoliator? Or toner? Literally anything other than ANOTHER serum.

A flat out drugstore mini? (The 0.34 oz. Cetaphil) Yes, I know it’s a bonus. And it may sound bougie of me, but I don’t love seeing drugstore brands in this particular box (September E.L.F. brush, I’m looking at you). I like discovering new brands from Allure (e.g. Peach & Lily), or innovative products (e.g. the Nue Vitamin C powder).

Another forking black eyeliner. If there is one thing I think we can pretty much all agree on, it’s that we each have enough black eyeliners from our beauty boxes to build a bonfire. I also think that considering an eyeliner as a “full size” item is total BS, since they don’t make sample size eyeliners.

Sorry for the rant, I just think this is a pretty sad box. Especially given the price hike.

      • Let me introduce you to my longtime friend, KVD tattoo liner mini, in the shade Trooper Black, lol

I agree, I’m disappointed in this box. My attitude is usually “you win some, you lose some”, but this a real let down. I probably wont bother skipping, and I’m a little interested in the pallete, but on the whole, if my box got lost in the mail or something I probably wouldn’t even notice.

    • Hi,
I feel EXACTLY the same way. I also paid for an annual subscription because I LOVED this subscription so much and couldn’t imagine not getting it.
I almost feel like it’s worse than it was before. Full sizes being things like eyeliner and lip gloss is not what they made it sound like, at all.
What a massive disappointment. Hopefully they will get enough complaints and figure out what a HUGE mistake they’ve made and change some things.
If not, I definitely will not renew and I’ve been with them for YEARS.
They do realize the competition at the about the same price right?
      I’m honestly pretty blown away.
      Kymberly

    • I rarely write negative comments about the Allure BB contents because I can always find a couple of redeeming items. But not this time. Le sigh.

  27. Easy skip for me (third month in a row). I’m all for giving things a try and seeing some benefit to every box, but the spoilers are not worth the extra $8 for me. Sorry, Allure.

  28. gosh…this box keeps going down hill…plus they have the same items as they had 2-3 years ago…glad i’m not here now..

  29. Used to love Allure. So glad I switched to Boxy

  30. I signed up for the annual subscription, so this box is fine for that price point, but if I were paying $23 per box I would feel disappointed. All these products are fine – I will use most if not all of them – but nothing is super exciting. I’ve suspected from the moment that they announced the price increase that they were hurting for money. The fact that the products in the box really haven’t changed to reflect the price increase confirms that. I just hope that they can keep it going long enough through next year, but I am not sure I’ll renew once my annual subscription expires. This box is just not worth $23 to me. At this point I think anyone should be wary of committing to anything long term with them.

  31. I’m also really glad I didn’t sign up for an annual subscription. Not one box since they raised the price to $23 has been anywhere near worth paying $8 extra dollars for this sub. I was thinking maybe the December box would be great but its not so I guess me and Allure are done for now. Its sad Allure was my first beauty sub and at $15 it was one of my favorites. I feel like the price increase was a really bad move on Allures part but I could be totally wrong

  32. Really there is no comparison between this and glam bag plus. GBP is so much better with 5 full size and you get to pick 3!

  33. Seems like this box’s days are numbered…

  34. Hmm. I have been steady defending this box, and I honestly liked October and look forward to November, but December is SO not exciting to me. Going to skip for sure. Bummer, because I would have liked a little present for myself around these bleak holidays.

  35. Only 6 items – La-Roche Posey is listed twice.

    • I knew something was off when I was counting. Only 5 items if you don’t include the “bonus”. Super disappointing

  36. Ok. So I actually do like the items. I had to make a choice due to product overload so I went with this box on the annual in October and cancelled Ipsy. Let’s all agree that this is five items because I’m not calling that cetaphil bonus an item, three are full size and one is a liner at that… I just don’t feel like this stands up to Ipsy and I am regretting my choice a little. That being said I am looking forward to the palette, mask, serum and retinol! I dunno…

  37. I signed up for the annual. Not excited by this box. It sounds like I can skip a month, but I am unsure how to do that. Can someone let me please? Thanks!

    • Just call them before the 3rd of the month and let them know you want to skip. That’s what one of their CS agents told me.

    • You can email CS at [email protected]

That’s what I do. I bought the annual, skipped November and I’m skipping December. Eventually they’ll have a good box lol but this “annual” subscription may end up lasting me a decade!

      • I want to skip ( have an annual) but I’m afraid at the end of my year they’ll mess up and not tack on for free the boxes that I skip.

  38. This is horrible. I was soooooo close to buying annual before the price went up, but decided not to. I’m so glad I didn’t! The boxes before the price increase were way better than what they are now IMO.

    • Man, I could have written your comment, word for word. Exactly!

  39. Between the mudmasky and the eyeshadow, I’m happy with this box.

    • I think the Mudmasky sounds like a great product! My skin can really get burned by the cold Iowa winds and this leave-on mask sounds very soothing. Did some research, it’s made in the Netherlands, cruelty free, and listed at $44 US on the brand’s website. I’ll be happy to try it this coming winter so I’m going to go for this box via Amazon and all the other items sound pretty good too, with the exception of the dreaded black eyeliner. lol

    • Those are really the only reasons that I am getting the December box! I’m curious about the new member gift.

  40. I am very excited about December bag. I want some new eyeshadows and this Ciaté London Trend Edit Eyeshadow Palette (full-size) looks nice.
ByMe x My Beauty Brand Black Liquid Eyeliner (full-size), yes. The liner I was using is now dry so perfect timing. La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum, yes like this brand and love using sereums. Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum, again serums are a plus for me and this brand is good quality. MUDMASKY Leave-Me-On Winter Mask (full-size), never try this but excited since winter will be here next month. La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum, music to my skin. BONUS: Cetaphil Healthy Glow Daily Cream, perfect to give if a family member forgets their face cream.

  41. I bought the annual when it came with the MegaBundle. I was ok with the MegaBundle because I wasn’t a previous subscriber. I was looking forward to December since other members said they usually have a fantastic curation for this month. If you don’t count the bonus, there are only 6 items in here which is a big letdown for me.

    • Actually it’s 5 items plus the bonus item. MSA has the serum listed twice…

  42. This is actually awful. Like, awful. I’m so glad I cancelled. And has anyone talked about how impersonal and awful their customer service is? (‘Dear Subscriber: ……)

  43. Wow, this is awful. There’s no way I’d pay $23 for this. Allure has seriously missed the marked with this “upgrade”.

  44. Are we getting 2 la roche- posay b3 serums? It’s listed twice so it looks like 7 items but when you look at the picture it’s only 6 items and that’s including the bonus item. It’s a little disappointing. I thought we were supposed to get more with the price increase.

  45. This isn’t bad, but it’s not enticing me to resub, either. If the Caudalie was full size, I’d bite.

It’s still unclear to me how this product list differs from when the box went for $15 instead of $23. What does seem clear is that the promised three full size items are always going to include a nail polish, or liner, or other item that would not typically need to be touted as “full size.”

    • Agree with everything you said! Remember when they would give $5 off and a new member gift almost every month? I don’t see a big difference between the $15 boxes and the $23. I think they just figured that because they do include full size products (even when it was $15,) that they could justify a price increase.

Personally not digging the palette or eyeliner so hoping I can skip 🤞

  46. I had already signed up for another year before they announced the price increase. I think I have 6 months left. These boxes havent really changed since the price increase. I’m not really seeing better brands, seems to be the same amount of full size products and it hasnt wowed me since the price increase. If it doesnt improve, I’ll be cancelling after my annual sub is up.

  47. I’m only interested in the mask. I think I am going to skip December.

  48. I’m actually glad I cancelled. This used to be my favorite box but wow-it’s going downhill fast.

  49. So glad I didn’t sign up for the year subscription. I haven’t seen a box yet that excites me. I think I’m just to overloaded on product. But this is disappointing.

    • Same here. Almost bit for the annual but so glad I didn’t. With the new Ipsy and what I already get something needs to go and this is it, doubt I’ll miss it.

      • Same. I’m tempted to just write them off completely.

  50. The La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum is listed twice in the list of products.
