Pet Treater Cat Pack October 2020 Review

I used to find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts. There used to be a sticker each month but this seems to have been discontinued.

On to the items:

Kerchief

You'll get one of these every month. I am pleased to report they are now custom-designed for Pet Treater (a year ago they were little triangles cut straight off the bolt of fabric). However, my cats don't really like wearing kerchiefs. I can only reliably get one on Monkey these days. I'd kind of prefer a little costume or hat, just for variety.

Vitakraft Meaty Morsels, Chicken Recipe (1.4 oz) - Retail Value $2.98

Vitakraft is a brand name I remember from back when I had a lot of pet rodents but I guess they make dog and cat items as well. These are a little softer than your average semi-moist treat and my cats thought they were awesome. The pieces are a little big so you may want to break them in half for easier eating.

Ourpets Outta Sight Refillable Catnip Toy - Retail Value $12.99

Take the retail value above with a grain of salt, as I don't feel this is actually a $13 item. It is being sold by a third-party seller on Amazon but on other websites it was even more expensive. It is a good toy – easy to refill with catnip (it comes with a little packet), small, and a nice texture for my kitties, and I think it's pretty cute as well. (After Mr. Kitty I will always have a soft spot for orange cyclops!) Everyone wanted to sniff this and Monkey licked at the catnip, too.

Ourpets Frog Plush Animal, Play 'n Squeak - Retail Value $4.99

This makes some frog noises on impact. My cats are not super interested in noisy toys but they did at least think this was worth investigating. It is a good size for them as they prefer smaller toys, but I think they will be doing more cuddling and less violent cat play (well, they are also all seniors, so that's not too surprising).

Bonus - Vitakraft Treat Sample

This came with a coupon and some advertising material. It's only one stick from a 6 pack. We have received a whole package of these before. I call them "Sneaky sticks" and I will often give a whole one to Sneaky and let her deal with it. She's a little slower with these than she is with small treats. This time I let all three cats share it. They really liked this as well (but I already knew they would).

Gratuitous cat photos:

(Sneaky is the calico, Madison is black, and Monkey is tan and white.)

Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the October Pet Treater Cat Pack since the kerchief isn't available online and the value for the cyclops toy is a little unbelievable.  Honestly, though, I would say this was a pretty good month. I mean, maybe the kerchief isn't the best thing to include in a cat box, but the treats were awesome and the toys were a good size and soft texture that interested my older cats.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first pack will ship immediately filled with the most popular fan favorites. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.

Value Breakdown: At $15 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3.75 per item.
