Loti Wellness October 2020 Review

Loti Wellness is a self-care box designed to remind you to take time for self-care. The products are curated to help you manage anxiety and stress, practice mindfulness, and support wellness. The products range from candles, aromatherapy, bath and body, skincare, and more.

Let's unpack this box!

Duckish Citrus Bath Bombs - Retail Value $11.99

First up is a 2-pack of citrus-scented bath bombs. These smell just like lemon bars: light and lemony with a bit of sweetness - so fun! These bath bombs are dye-free and glitter-free, which is great so you don't leave your relaxing bath dyed any colors or covered in glitter. I love the square shape, too, because you can use these in the shower as well since they won't roll around on you.

Smart Sweets Fruit Gummy Bears - Retail Value $3.99 (a 6-pack retails for $19.74)

I love regular gummy bears, so I was so excited to try this low-sugar, "healthy" version. They are free from sugar alcohols and don't have any artificial sweeteners or added sugars, and the best part is that they tasted so yummy! The gummies were on the harder size upon first chew, but then they became much chewier as I ate them. I really enjoyed the fruit flavors (they are a variety of raspberry, apple, lemon, and peach) - I feel like a lot of gummy bears out there kind of all taste the same, no matter which color bear you are eating. The apple flavor in particular really came through for me.

Kawa Naturals Lava Bead Diffuser Bracelet - Retail Value $22.00

Next up is a lava bead essential oil diffusing bracelet from a brand-new company. Kawa Naturals appears to have just been founded, and I could only find their social media channels and not a full up-and-running website yet. However, the bracelet is very well-made and super cute. I love the black and white colors (super trendy), and the string closure fastened smoothly. Lava beads are super porous, so they soak up whatever oils you put in them and slowly diffuse them throughout the day.

Relaxus 100% Pure Essential Oil Roll-On in Energize - Retail Value $12.00

The essential oil blend that we received is a mix of almond oil, rosemary, grapefruit, and peppermint, and it's supposed to give you energy. I get a strong citrus scent with this one, and it's a really pleasant scent overall. I love the roller-ball option, and I've been dabbing a small amount of this on my temples and inner wrists before work each day. It does seem to wake me up a little bit more than without it!

Way of Will Face Toner (Normal-Sensitive), 120mL - Retail Value $35.00

A full-sized beauty product is always a great item to get in a subscription box! This brand is based in essential oils and aromatherapy. They have all-natural products, and also have an emphasis on working out and living a healthy lifestyle. The toner I received includes lavender and chamomile for a balancing and calming effect on the skin. The smell of this toner is a nice one, but it is quite strong. After using it, my skin feels clean and tightened.

Glass Gratitude Jar - Estimated Retail Value $12.00

The theme of the box this month is gratitude, and to go along with that they have included a glass mason jar containing 30 slips of paper with the phrase "I'm grateful for" printed on them. I love the idea of a gratitude jar, where you put down one thing each day that you are grateful for. It's always good to tie a physical action to mindfulness practices, so the act of physically writing down your gratitude and putting it in a jar is a great step towards actually taking that moment out of your day. I also think this would be a great activity at a family Thanksgiving table - everyone could write down their own list of things they are grateful for and put them in the jar throughout the day, and then you could read through the slips of paper together.

Seeds of Gratitude Workbook - Estimated Retail Value $10.00

The workshop this month is all about gratitude and taking time to reflect on the positive things in your life and throughout your day. This is such a good message to remember, especially as we are finishing up quite a turbulent and stressful year. The booklet goes into the science behind why gratitude is good for you, and also has a list of 25 ways to start practicing gratitude in your daily life. When I was growing up, my mom would have us think of "three good things" that we would tell her before going to bed, and this booklet was reminding me of that practice and encouraged me to get back into it! Although we can all have tough days and disappointments, and it's easy to get bogged down in that, it's so much healthier to live in a way that refocuses your energy on the positive parts of your life.

Verdict: I thought this was a great wellness-focused box! I loved the scent of the essential oil that we received, and I'm always excited to receive full-sized beauty products in a subscription box. The gratitude workbook and jar were a great reminder to slow down and reframe my thinking, and I appreciated that all of the items played into the theme this month. For approximately $44.86 USD ($49.95 CAD plus $8.99 shipping), we received 5 lifestyle items plus the gratitude workbook and jar for an estimated retail value of $106.98, which is over twice the price of the box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you'll likely receive the November box (if you order before October 24th).

Value Breakdown: At $44.86, here’s approximately what you are paying for each item:

  • Bath bombs - $5.03
  • Gummy bears - $1.67
  • Bead bracelet - $9.22
  • Essential oil - $5.03
  • Toner - $14.68

Great review! Seems like a really nice box and something we could all use in 2020. I really like the personal story of how your Mom made you tell her “3 good things” before going to bed. It is easy to focus on all the sad things going on and a good reminder to practice gratitude.
