Fit Snack Box is a subscription box containing snacks that fit within at least two of the following parameters: GMO-free, high protein, low-sugar, gluten-free, organic, raw, vegan, and/or all-natural. (As in, any given item might be low in sugar and vegan, or organic and gluten-free but not vegan, etc.)

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Fit Snack Box September 2020 Review

The information card is a bit flashier these days, as a full-color folded brochure. But there was still a workout and a list of items in the box. There is also a QR code to get to online videos, recipes, and other subscriber-exclusive content.

On to the items:

Lesser Evil Paleo Puffs Himalayan Pink Salt (1 oz) - Buy 24 Bags for $20.99

The Paleo diet is a bit of a mystery to me because it doesn't allow grain but apparently, root-based starches are OK? (This snack is made from cassava but from a biochemist's standpoint I don't see much of a difference.) But, these are vegan and gluten-free and Paleo-friendly so if you follow any of these diets you can enjoy them. I think they're a bit firmer than some of the corn- and rice-based puff snacks out there and they're not oily. Since they're sea salt flavored only (i.e., plain) there's no flavoring to get all over your fingers. I find them to be OK but not great; to be honest, I prefer the flavored varities because starch on its own isn't all that exciting to me.

TopSeedz Crackers, Sea Salt (2 oz) - Buy 5 oz for $7.99

These had a 5 oz sticker on the back, but I think they just shrank the nutritional facts from the regular package size without alteration because I weighed these for calorie calculating purposes and I got about 2 oz. Anyway, these are seed crackers and they remind me a lot of other seed crackers in terms of taste and texture. The sesame is particularly strong, so if you want to put a dip or spread on these I would go with something savory (like hummus). These have shown up in the Vegancuts Snack Box at least once or twice this year as well but I think this is the first time I've seen them in Fit Snack Box.

Craize Sweet Corn Toasted Corn Crackers (1 oz) - Buy 12, 1.75 oz Pouches for $28.14 (found here for $19.88)

This company is really hitting the snack subscription boxes hard for marketing the past few months, as I have received quite a lot of these in various flavors so far this year. They are thin but not paper-thin and fairly firm. I think they would be great for making little appetizers, as they seem like less of a dipping sort of chip to me. The corn flavor is definitely noticeable but I like that about them. Even though they are a packaged food, they feel less processed than some other corn-based snacks.

BeBold Energy Bar, Almond Butter (57g x 2) - Buy 8 Bars for $28

This was the only 100% new item for me this month, but that is not really Fit Snack Box's fault since I do review two other snack subscription boxes and there is always going to be some overlap. This was also probably my favorite item this month. It's essentially a chewy or soft granola bar and is kind of high in sugar but that's probably why I liked it (I don't let myself eat much sugar in general so I get pretty excited about it when I do have some). The chocolate and nuts were both evident and it was soft but didn't fall apart.

Uplift Gut Happy Cookies, Salted Almond Butter with Vanilla (1.41 oz) - Buy 12 Packs for $38.99

We received two flavors of these this month. The cookie part has a lot of fiber (prebiotics) while the cream part has lots and lots of probiotic organisms. So the whole thing works together to improve gut health. The cookie part is a little hard and will not be mistaken for dessert-type sandwich cookies, but was better than expected. It seems expensive to me, at a little over $3 per pack (one pack of three cookies is one serving) but some probiotics cost quite a lot, as well, and if you don't like swallowing pills or eating yogurt I suppose this could be an option to consider if you want the benefits of pre- and probiotics.

Uplift Gut Happy Cookies, Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate (1.41 oz) - Buy 12 Packs for $38.99

I have essentially the same things to say about this second flavor as I do about the first flavor, as the cookies were pretty similar. I think I slightly preferred the peanut butter taste to the almond butter veriety, but others may have different opinions.

Superseedz, Sea Salt (1 oz) - Buy 5 oz for $4.79

Pumpkin seeds seem to be making the rounds in the snack subscription boxes, but it's fall so I suppose that makes sense. These seeds are larger than some found in the bulk bins at the grocery store but not any tougher, so they make for slightly better finger food. I prefer some of the flavored varieties but these are not bad, and they also have lots of minerals, like iron and zinc, in addition to some healthy fats.

Ultima Replenisher (6 pack) - Buy 20 for $20.99

These tend to show up pretty often in Fit Snack Box although usually in three packs, so I kind of like getting the six-pack because some of the flavors I enjoy most only show up in the larger packs (in general I prefer berry flavors to citrus flavors for this product). This is a 0 calorie electrolyte supplement. Although I am pretty sure I am not walking around in a state of dehydration, these are a good way to perk up my water during exercise. This product has the distinction, as well, of being one of the only stevia-sweetened drink mix-ins that I actually don't mind the taste of.

Prince of Peace Ginger Chews (4 oz) - Retail Value $2.19 (found here for $1.75)

I am almost never without a bag of these in my pantry, mostly because full-size bags of them come in other snack subscription boxes somewhat regularly. They are super sticky, so watch your dental work. I finally braved the orthodontist's office to get my permanent retainer fixed, so I could eat them this month instead of relying on my husband's opinion! I think that the plain ginger flavor is better than most of the flavored chews. Ginger is supposed to calm the stomach, although I don't know precisely how many of these you would need to eat to see an effect like that. I think they're just kind of nice as something sweet after a meal without going for a full dessert.

Verdict: The September Fit Snack Box had 10 items (I'm counting multiples of the same item separately) for an average value of $2.89 per item. Not too many of the items were new for me but that is a result of receiving three separate snack subscription boxes, rather than Fit Snack Box sending repeats (most of these items were new to Fit Snack Box). Everything was vegetarian this month and most items were also vegan, so I got to try everything which was nice. The BeBold bars were a nice find, too. Also, don't forget there is a lot of online content and most of the brands also offer coupon codes in the information booklet, so there's a bit of additional value there, as well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Boxes ship out around the 20th of the month so it is too late to get September’s box.

Value Breakdown: At $28.90 for this box, you are paying about $2.89 per item.
