Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson. In fact, it's one of our readers' top picks for Best Fitness Subscription Boxes of 2020! The VIP Membership is $49.95/month and allows you to choose from outfits and sets that have been put together just for members at a discounted price.

You can shop Fabletics in two ways—you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $24 for new VIP members.
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you'd get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you'll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.

Put simply, this subscription won't automatically send you monthly packages like other services do. (But they will automatically charge you if you take no action.) You have to hop into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

FYI, COVID-19 Update:

Ready, Set, Ship: Our shipping times are now 100% back to normal & select retail stores have reopened, but health & safety is still our top priority. Read more here.

Fabletics VIP Membership Review - October 2020

Now that I have a few orders under my belt, I have learned a few tricks of the trade with this subscription. This month I remembered to set my alarm, so at 4:40 a.m. I easily logged onto the Fabletics website to check out the October items. While there were quite a few new options, I noticed there weren't a lot of $49.95 options, which I was a little bummed about. I had a few items saved in my favorites from the previous months but ended up selecting a $59.95 outfit that was in my recommendations. As you will see below, it included a crop top which was COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone, but actually turned out to be okay. The shipping timeline was incredible this month, as I placed my order on October 1st, received the tracking information 6 hours later, and received the package on October 5th - AMAZING! Let's get a closer look at that crop top....

Blaine Jogger II - Retail Value $69.95/VIP Member Price $59.95 or when purchasing the Explore 2-Piece Outfit- $59.95

I love leggings, but I am also open to other exercise/lounging options too. When I saw these joggers, I couldn't help but be drawn to the fact that they looked extremely comfortable, had a nice high waist to hide my belly, and were my favorite color: black. Because I am quite frugal, I felt $59.95 was a bit steep for a pair of pants, so when I see them offered as a set, I just had to order it. Upon arrival, I was happy with the fit and loved the feel of the modal and polyester fabric. The drawstrings were long enough to tie, and the bottoms hit my ankles in the perfect spot. The only problem I had with these was oddly enough, the smell. While they came in a sealed plastic bag, upon opening that packaging I was greeted with a very heavy Oxi-Clean type detergent fragrance. While I have no aversion to perfumes and other scents, for some reason Oxi-Clean makes my nose run instantly. I have never run into this before, and my other items had no odor at all, so I'm not quite sure what the deal is, but I had to instantly throw these in the wash before I could even wear them!

Carter Swing Tank - Retail Value $39.95/VIP Member Price $34.95 or when purchasing the Explore 2-Piece Outfit- $59.95

I'm going to be honest and say I am not a crop top type of gal. This body has given birth to a 10.5-pound boy and a 9-pound boy, plus had its gallbladder removed...I am completely and utterly thankful for it, but I am definitely self-conscious. That being said, I wanted those joggers soooo bad, and I wanted them at the discounted price when paired with the top, so I decided to go for it. This short white tank is also made from modal and polyester for a soft, loose feel. I was happy to see that the joggers were high enough and this tank was long enough to cover my torso completely, and while I still am not sold on wearing something like this out in public, I actually enjoyed wearing this for my morning workout, as the breeze felt really nice!

Comfy and cool, this outfit is perfect for at-home work-outs and lounging around on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Throw on a hoodie and you are ready to take it outside for a brisk fall jog!

Marissa Tie Up Tank - Retail Value $29.95/VIP Member Price $29.95/Sale Price $10.48

This month I received a $20 coupon to use because of a shipping problem I ran into a few months back. I thought that was a great way to express their apologies and was happy to do a little more shopping! Even though I said before that I don't love crop tops, I had to try this tie-up version. It just looks so cute on the model, and the sale price was just too good to pass up, so I went for it. Sadly, this fit so poorly I couldn't even post the modeling pictures. It was wayyyy too big and just looked horrendous on me. I think a size down would have helped a bit, but I just don't think it was made for my body type. I'm happy to have given it a chance but feel the only time I might wear this is as an undershirt while snowmobiling.

The Verdict: This month was interesting, to say the least! I discovered my love for Fabletics joggers and learned that not all crop tops are created equal. It was fun giving a new style a try, and while I wouldn't wear it out, I can say I'm happy to have the extra breeze while jogging the pounds off with Leslie Sansone. I wasn't a fan of the Marissa tank, but because I got such a good deal, I had to give it a chance, and will probably be able to wear it as an under layer this winter. I can't wait to see what November has in store, though I'm hoping for something oversized and long-sleeved!!

Can you still get this set if you sign up today? Possibly, as all items are still available but in limited sizes.

Value Breakdown: If you were to order all items separate as a VIP member, your order total would be $105.38, but because it was offered as a set for $59.95, the other top was on sale, and I received that $20 coupon, my total was only $52.57 which was over half off!!

This was a great review! And I think the items look wonderful on you! I’ve looked into this sub, but I’m just enough of a plus-size that I don’t think I can. I can wear regular-sized bottoms, but my upper body is broad and busty. How do you find the fit of the tops, especially across the bust and around the shoulder/armhole area? Have you found any snugness or are they loose?

Also, an off-topic question but I’m curious: I have a thing for Victorian/other older homes, and when I see your photos in front of that wooden door, I get the sense that the door is indeed original, but may I ask, is the cabinetry next to it original? I ask because I wanted to say that if the cabinetry is a later addition (which I suspect), whoever did it paid painstaking attention to detail and quality in matching it so well. I know it’s a weird question…I spend too much time poring over old home listings on a website called “old house dreams dot com” and if you love old homes as well, you’ll see what I mean.

Thank you so much for the comments Mountaineer95! When it comes to Fabletics tops, I have noticed that most fit a little on the loose side. The only exception was the zip up hoodie from a couple of months ago- that was TIGHT. This month’s crop top and a sweatshirt I received pre-review time, fit very loosely and comfortably which I prefer! As far as the house goes, yes the door is original! Our home was built in 1926, and when we did our remodel, we were unable to salvage most of the trim, but we were able to keep the doors. The cabinets next to it are all brand new, but we did have them custom made with a glazing that matched the original doors. Thanks for noticing, as our house remodel project is super special to us because we did all of the work ourselves – with the exception of actually building the cupboards! Also, thanks for sharing that website, I am definitely going to be checking that out! <3

Really cute! I am a big fan of Fabletics leggings. I took a chance on some joggers last season and ended up really liking them.
