Variation #78 (11x10x4, 2.2 lbs) :
– Illuminati palette
– Murad toner spray
– Kosas Tinted Oil Foundation (Tone 02)
– Go-To exfoliating swioes
– Jouer lip enhancer
– Laura Gellar 50 Kisses liquid lipstick (Ruby Romance)

I resubbed hoping to get the Kosas face oil, which I’ve never tried. I guessed what shade would work for me & put it in the Boxy foundation quiz. I’m also really happy with the Murad toner & Go-To wipes. I’m calling this box a win, even with the filler eye palette (which has lots of PET glitter in it).

Does anyone know if all premium subscribers are getting this palette or is it a variation?

Marion

Everyone, unfortunately.

Illuminati Cosmetics is essentially the same private-label company as Appeal Cosmetics.

If you go to their CEO Candace Stanley’s Linked In account, there is a link to view the wholesale prices of their products. Appeal Cosmetics lipsticks, lip glosses, & highlighters are sold to companies like BoxyCharm for $1 each. Makeup sponges & eyeliner pencils are sold for $0.50 each.

Illuminati Cosmetics are certainly not “Premium” items; I would prefer not to see them in BoxyCharm at all.

I don’t see the link. Can someone send it to me??

Under the websites section of her profile, there’s a “portfolio” link to RangeMe. Click it.

“If you go to their CEO Candace Stanley’s Linked In account, there is a link to view the wholesale prices…”

Not after they get wind of your comment! Lol. Watch how fast that link disappears come tomorrow.

Marion

Right? I’m shocked it’s still there.

Mountaineer95

Wow, a (fairly) public link to wholesale pricing? That’s a big mistake. I worked for years as a sales rep for wholesalers who sell to retailers and we were always careful to block access to wholesale pricing, not just to actual end consumers, but to retailers who were not already buying from us as well.

Wholesale prices really reflect the ingredients that go into the product. These very low prices show that the ingredients cost very little. Most of the cost goes into manufacturing and packaging. And keep in mind that if the cosmetics manufacturer sells the product to Boxy (or any box) for a dollar, that price still allows profit to the manufacturer. I don’t know what margins the manufacturer achieves, but the product most definitely cost them less than a dollar to make.

Mary, you have to actually contact Boxycharm! This website isn’t affiliated with them and can’t do it for you.

i cancelled my base box…but still have the premium box…its better anyway..

I cancelled my base box but they told me that this would also cancel my Luxe box. I don’t understand how this works. I think they were trying to get me to keep both boxes but I ended up just cancelling both. Did my CS agent get confused or is this actually their policy? Seems pretty bizarre.

Leo

Yes you have to keep the base box to get luxe, I was told it’s like an “add on” to the base box which you can’t add to premium.

Katy

I stayed for the oil foundation.

I don’t know how to feel about the palette. I used to be so excited for eyeshadow palettes and now the new ones sit unopened for the most part. I will probably end up gifting most of them. The shades are pretty and I like the purples. I wonder what the pigment and fallout are like.

I have a question maybe someone can answer. I’m new to Premium and I’m wondering if we still get the choice items we don’t pick as our products.

I have used this oil foundation. It’s great! It’s also why this is the only Boxy variant I’m keeping for now.

AH

If you mean do you get additional choice products as possible items on top of the choice product, then no. Your choice product will be it. You can usually buy the others in the add on sales. If you mean will you still get one of the choice products and you weren’t subscribed the previous month in time to choose or just didn’t choose, then, yes, you will get one of the choice items. Since you mentioned the foundation and that’s a complexion specific item I don’t think you’d leave to chance, I am gonna make an assumption that you probably mean the former I mentioned.

Katy

I’m just curious of the likelihood that I will be getting one of the bushes as a product as well even though I picked the foundation. I was thinking if I do, I hope I get the powdered blush compact and not the cream blush.

Chelsea

Remember when MSA used to have all of the spoilers and scoop way ahead of time? I’ve seen this “new” spoiler weeks ago on multiple sites. So disappointing how delayed they have been lately.

Cb

Yes I’ve noticed that they cut back showing spoilers months ago I don’t know if it’s because of the pandemic or what. This is why I use Instagram more often now LOL so I could see the spoilers a lot sooner than a couple days out on MSA
MSA is still One of my favorite websites but yes it’s a bit disappointing

Lawden

Chelsea, where do you go to get up to date spoilers?! I too have been looking and can’t seem to find anything! I do remember when this site would have spoilers well before anyone and how exciting it was lol! Now I’ve got to do the digging haha!

Lawden

Awesome! Thank you!

Chelsea

Definitely follow “boxycharmsneakpeek” and “boxycharmnews” on Instagram, they get the latest scoop way before MSA. Also, if you’re on Reddit “r/boxycharm” and “r/beautyboxes” have a lot of box reveals and people share their weights/dimensions etc.

Rose

I miss the MSA that was curated and edited by Liz. Now I avoid the reviews by the main reviewer because of her juvenile writing habits, which is a shame (but my choice). I also miss some of the “old” reviewers who are no longer contributing; I have to assume they left because of the new management.

Christina

I haven’t noticed a change in the writing but it does bum me out that the site is so much less active than it used to be.

Mountaineer95

Hi Rose! I’m fairly new to MSA (I’ve been here since earlier this year) and I’ve read a lot of the reviews. Can you explain what you mean by “juvenile writing habits”? I tend to be critical of things I read online in general. I suppose it’s the English Major in me. While I’ve caught some typos here at MSA, I haven’t yet seen anything I’d describe as “juvenile”, but personal definitions can vary, and I’d like to know what you’ve read that fits the definition for you so that I can be aware of such reviews and weigh them accordingly. Thank you!

Luna

Hi Katy, I think Liz is back! (although I don’t know to what extent) She made a comment in the Allure Beauty Box Exclusive Member Discount post. 🙂

Katy

It did feel odd to me when Liz and Eric fully stepped away from the site. I’ve been here pretty much on a daily basis for 4 years and I miss some of the old reviewers too but I also enjoy all of the current ones.

Liz was the master you know? This was her passion and she turned it into something pretty damn stellar in my opinion. She created this from the ground up from what I’ve always understood. She had to have worked herself into the ground keeping up with it all. I don’t know the circumstances behind what happened but I do feeling comfortable enough in saying I am sure Liz and Eric both needed and deserved to have some of the everything they put into this community back for themselves. No one can replace her love and dedication into something she created herself but they can still keep it going well and I think they do.

There were some really good long term reviewers that I do miss. I hope they are all doing well now. I hope Liz and Eric are well. And I keep on enjoying my guilty pleasures via MSA. 😁

Katy

I must not know where to look because I was digging around for more Premium spoilers yesterday and I couldn’t find anything other than what was already posted on MSA. Apparently, Google does not know all because I didn’t find anything mentions about the palette.

Amoamo

Me too. All week I been looking for premium spoilers. Right now under reviews on the boxycharm page, it shows base box reviews but still nothing up for premium..

Jean

To be fair there haven’t been a lot of Premium spoilers at all. Instagram is a good place to get the very latest. Boxy posts them and there are several instagrammers dedicated to Boxy spoilers and sneak peeks. @boxysneakpeeks is one of the most active.

Michelle Whitehead

So agree this is getting to be an email I hardly open anymore. All the reviews seem a bit contrived and the news isn’t news anymore.
