Today, I’ll be showing you how I used some of the items in my October BoxyCharm box! I’d love it if you shared what products and techniques worked for you in the comments as well! What items were your favorites? Which products have you been reaching for all month? Let’s talk about all things October BoxyCharm.

But first, here are the box basics:

This month’s Boxycharm theme is "Candy Shop” and since we are in the month of October, I think a candy theme is very fitting. Regardless of the theme, I’m always excited to see what Boxycharm comes up with. Let's jump into this month's box and see what’s in store.

Our very first product is from Symbiosis London and it's their Tightening & Resplendent Eye Mask. This is a unique eye mask that comes in a cream form. This mask has specific ingredients such as Pullulan, Hyaluronic Acid, and Shea Butter. These combined ingredients help to rejuvenate, tighten, and brighten the eye area. If you suffer from puffiness, fine lines, or dark circles this product claims to help solve it. It works by forming a sheer film that is supposed to help temporarily improve your skin's texture and appearance. I couldn't notice any immediate results but I love how lightweight it is. I’m hoping that with continued use this product can help to reduce the dark circles under my eyes, however, I will have to wait and see. If this product does all it claims then I can't wait to see the results.

I’m so shocked about our next product due to the fact that I have literally been stalking this brand for a few months now, so to receive something from them is super exciting for me! We received the Beauty Bakerie Breakfast In Bed eyeshadow palette. This is a black-owned beauty brand and right now my support goes way beyond a trend, I think it's important to support all businesses during this pandemic. I love that the shades in this palette are very neutral and would be great for those everyday makeup looks. There are four shimmers and five matte shades. I wanted to create a look you can wear every day using five shades from this palette.

Before I begin creating this eye look I wanted to quickly discuss our next product since I will be using it along with our eyeshadow palette. We received a beautiful 5 piece brush set from Luxie Beauty. We have received brushes from this brand before from Boxycharm and I absolutely love, love (did I say, love?) Luxie brushes. They are super soft and the quality is great for something so affordable. I received a lovely purple lilac color. It also came with this really cute and durable black bag to carry them in. Let’s get started on our eye look.

First I used the 209 Large Shader brush and the shade 'Cuddle Cakes'. I placed this pretty silver shade all over my lids, stopping just below the crease area.

Here is how that silver shade looks on its own.

Next, I took the 207 Medium Angled Shading brush and the shade 'Lazy Bones' and added it to my crease area using windshield wiper motions. This is a matte purple that goes really pretty against the silver shade. Since this shade is very subtle you may have to add more to get it to show up in your crease.

Here is how that matte purple shade looks added to the crease area.

Next, I used a tiny angled brush that wasn’t apart of our Luxie brush set. I needed something smaller to fit into the inner corners of my eyes. I placed the shade 'Pajamas' a nice purple/pink shimmer shade in the inner corners of my eyes, stopping before I reached the center of my eyes. I love to highlight the inner corners with a sparkle shade. I think it helps to open the eyes while giving off an inner glow as well.

Here is how that shade looks in the inner corners of my eyes.

Using the 205 Tapered brush I added the shade 'Boo & View' on the outer corners of my eyes. This dark matte teal shade is the perfect pop of color to add to our neutral combo.

Here is that teal shade on the outer corner of my eyes.

To complete this simple eye look I took the 201 Brow & Lash brush to groom my brows before I filled them in.

After I filled in my brows I used the 237 Blending brush to place the final shade 'Fresh Face' under each brow. It's a gorgeous shade and I will also be using it to highlight with later on.

Here is my eye look completed after adding some black eyeliner and mascara. All in all the Luxie brushes were super soft and so easy to use. They blended out the product in only a few seconds. As for the eyeshadow palette, just looking at the shade choices I wasn’t very impressed with the options. However, once I started to use them I saw how gorgeous they really were. Most of the shades were very pigmented and easy to blend out. There are certain shades that took a few more dips into the pan than the others, but since the colors build up very nicely it was no problem at all. The shimmer shades are best applied using your finger, I only choose to use the brushes so that I could test them out for you guys.

My favorite part is how there was no absolutely zero fallout when using these shades. After reading the reviews and then trying the palette out for myself I am not disappointed in this makeup brand so far. I would love to try some of their other products in the near future.

Our next product is from Dose Of Colors which we have received items from before in the past. I haven’t been disappointed with this brand so far, so I hope that this item is no different. This time instead of a lip product we received a concealer. Meet Your Hue Concealer is a multitasking concealer that claims to be lightweight with a full coverage that's buildable. Just like all concealers, it's made to help conceal any dark circles, blemishes, or any other imperfections. It's made with shea butter and is also rich in Omega-9 which helps to hydrate and moisturize your skin. There are thirty shades to choose from and I received the shade Dark 24. This shade is a little bit lighter than what I’m used to using for concealer but it should still get the job done.

I used the built-in applicator to place the product where I wanted it. I choose to highlight the area in between my brows, down the bridge of my nose, and lower chin. I also used it to conceal certain dark spots like under my eyes and any other imperfections I saw.  I then used a slightly damp beauty sponge to tap and press the product into my skin.

After I blended the concealer into my skin, I then put on my foundation and set it with a colored setting powder. What I love the most about this concealer is how easy it was to blend out, and although it was a little lighter than what I’m used to it looked great under my foundation. I can honestly say that this is one of the best concealers that I have used in a long time. I can only imagine how much better it would look if I had my correct shade. I will definitely be pushing this product to the front of my makeup product line up.

Before moving on to our final product in this months box, I added some blush and then I went back into our eyeshadow palette to highlight with the shade 'Fresh Face'. I placed the shade on my cheekbones and the tip of my nose. We received another fun product from the brand ACE Beaute and its their Draw It Lip Liner Duo. These liners are supposed to be super pigmented, smooth, and even come with their own individual sharpeners at the base. These can be used as lip liners or as lipstick when you fill them in completely.

The two shades are 'So Gorgeous' which is a really pretty red/fuschia mix and 'Be Peachy' a warm nude shade. I choose to wear these lip liners as lipstick, so I started with 'So Gorgeous' and I completely filled in my lips. I was taken aback at how smooth and creamy it was to apply. There was no tugging whatsoever, making it very easy to work with. After I filled in my lips with the first liner, I grabbed the second one and used the nude shade in the center of my lips. I added it to both the top and bottom to highlight the center and create an ombré effect. I loved the way it came out and how it compliments my makeup look. I wished all lip liners were this smooth and creamy.

Here are my lips all filled in with both lip liners. This completes my makeup look and I hope you guys enjoyed this month's box as much as I did.

Verdict:

October’s Boxycharm was full of fun and interesting products. I always like to choose a favorite and this month that was really hard to do. From the awesome eyeshadow palette to the creamy lip liners and a bomb concealer that blends like butter, there was no way I could choose just one. I can't wait to hear from you guys and read what item stood out to you the most.

I am addicted to subscription boxes for so many reasons. For one I simply love the element of surprise that each month brings, whether its beauty, skin care or anything else. I love the opportunity of trying out new products every month without having to commit to the full purchase. My favorite boxes are Boxycharm, Popsugar, and any Mommy and baby boxes. I am a brand new mother and I love trying out new things for my baby and I love how they always have something special for mommy!

Love your tutorials. I received a different palette but haven’t had a chance to play with it. The concealer was my choice item and favorite this month.
