I am guessing that is a no
On the mystery bundle with signup for the new seasonal quarterly Box Piper and Jenn. I haven’t gotten the missing tandrops or the August box yet either . And no word on the mystery or seasonal of course. I was beginning to wonder if I was confused about the mystery gift with sub. So thank you all I’m not crazy lol. I do usually love what I get once I get it. BUT 2 out of my 4 boxes so far weren’t sent with the items I chose.

Hi I just got my mystery bundle and I order the 25 box. It took over a week to get to me though and I’m in MA. On their site they keep changing to fall box and now it says it won’t even be shipped until the other October box go out first so we won’t see it until mid Nov when it was supposed to go out in Sept right? I hate that I love the boxes because I can’t stand that they always months late on boxes. Grrrrrr

Thank you for all the feedback about B&C. I was going to subscribe to the seasonal box, but will hold off for now.

Joy-Not the Other One

After months and months of reading the reviews of the lifestyle box and experiencing some serious FOMO, I signed up for the July box back in June. HO-LEE SMOKES was that a mistake. The shipping is so far behind it is crazy. I finally received my last item from the July box (the tanning drops) 2 days ago! The drops were shipped separately because B&C claimed the reason the July box was shipped so late was because they were waiting on the drops to arrive so they could ship out a complete box. They finally decided that rather than have us wait any longer they would just send the box without the drops and send them later. It’s weird though, because like I just said, I received mine 2 days ago, yet when the July box was reviewed on here, the drops were in that box and there was no mention of them being shipped separately.

In the meantime I also ordered one of the Deluxe mystery boxes. By the time I figured out I most likely wasn’t even going to see my August box by the end of the year, I politely requested to cancel it and the Deluxe mystery box and to receive a refund for both. I will say this for their Customer Service, they were super rude but they did promptly provide a refund and cancellation for both boxes. I had to do what Jill suggested below and use “REFUND” in my subject line to ever get a response though. My previous emails had gone unanswered before doing this.

I am 100% understanding when it comes to COVID troubles, but I don’t think that is what is happening here. Before bothering to to make sure that customers receive their paid for monthly subscriptions they 1. Launched a new Seasonal box and 2. Launched a mystery box sale. And I can do without the rudeness. I was polite with my email and did not except what I got in return. I also found it very interesting that they immediately cancelled my orders and did not try to change my mind or anything. It was clear they could care less.

So to wrap up this way too lengthy comment (sorry I don’t know what gets into me, I am very crotchety these days! 🙂 ), in the future when I get FOMO over this box I will just buy whatever item in the box I want from somewhere else. Like I’m about to do with those awesome reusable wipes! 🙂

Your my hero! I have been saying this for months and just don’t understand it and they clearly don’t care. Most don’t seem to care there boxes come when they do and I just don’t get it how any box can be months late and yes add new subscriptions. I stopped the monthly and signed up for fall but it’s clear I won’t see that until the end of November. I love the boxes though and I go back and forth about it but it wrong.

25% off can be really tempting, so I absolutely appreciate you and others who have warned about shipping delays and other issues. Thanks!

You make a really good point about them not even trying to keep you as a customer–with me, it was just like “We’ll refund you and put these points in your account.” Not anything about still trying to get products out to me (if they still had them), offering me, say, a free box in the future (I think the points can only be used for the seasonal item sales), or even just saying that they value me as a customer and hope I’ll continue to stay with them despite the issues. That’s the sort of thing that really good companies do (and the ones that *will* keep me as a customer). Perhaps they just find it easier to get new customers through these sales than to hold on to the ones they have?

And I’m not usually one to complain about a small business (though, like you, I’ve also been more crotchety lately!), but I want to warn others from potentially losing money/ordering something as a gift and not having it arrive in time/or just disappointment. There are lots of sub boxes out there, many with far superior customer service and reliability, so I’d rather they be the ones to get people’s money.

And yes, I think I’ll just try buying the products I see in these boxes elsewhere! (And that will support other small businesses!)

I am back and forth on this. I would really like to take advantage of this 25% off. But with what I am hearing about shipping issues I’m just not sure.

I am so beyond frustrated with B&C and their constant changing of shipping times. These Fall boxes were supposed to be shipped the last week of September. Now its been pushed back 3 times all at a week at a time, and from the looks of how everything else is backed up I cant see these shipping before November. I think they have bitten off more than they can chew with all these boxes!! How about you prioritze based on when people paid for this box!!! I paid on August 19th and its mid October!

Need some Winter seasonal lifestyle spoilers since fall is sold out!

The candle
The Kombucha or other kit chosen
A charcoal bath back washer thing
Peanut Brittle
Either a pack of stretchy food lids or a food container
Either earrings or a set of bracelets (both look cheap as hell)
Either a blanket scarf, tall socks, or arm warmers
A cheap generic no label chapstick with a clip on chapstick holder
Mystery items were absolutely awful for me:
A horrible orange colored lip liner
A sample of some sort of serum with no label
A brown liquid eye lifter/shadow/concealer all in one

Oh and I forgot..also inside was Bonbon body scrub balls

I ordered a mystery box in Sept and the ship date for those just got pushed back a few days and those definitely seem uncurated. It’s my first B&C experience and the customer service response when I asked about my box was only the link to the website blog on the ever evolving shipping timeline updates. Not any reassurance of we’ve got your order. Just the link and a note that said email if you have questions. I’m hoping I love the box, but I’d be hesitant to sign up for a full sub right now.

Took advantage of the 25% off annual. I did a 12month prepay of the Beauty Box as I already have a seasonal lifestyle box. It was still expensive at $261 BUT I hope I love it. I hear many good things about this box.

The lifestyle box is only $44.95 you wrote in the old price at $49.95.

I am having such issues with Bombay and Cedar right now and it’s very upsetting as I really do love the boxes and the quality and variety of items they include. My main issues have been with shipping and customer service (or the complete lack thereof). I understand Covid affecting shipping times and understand issues with distributors and mail service. However, not only are my boxes arriving extremely late I have had two months in a row with items being damaged (July and August). In my July box the paint by numbers box was completely destroyed. I was planning on giving at as a gift and obviously couldn’t but I didn’t reach out to Bombay and Cedar because I understand things happen sometimes. Then, after finally receiving my August box, the bathroom cleaner refill snapped open in shipping and leaked all over everything. The smell was so strong and it caused the multi-colored shredded paper inside to stain numerous items, including my note cards and tea cozy. I have sent Bombay and Cedar two emails over the last three and a half weeks, in addition to leaving comments on their website – nothing. I have heard nothing. Not an acknowledgement of ever receiving the emails, not a “sorry but it is what it is”. Nothing. Also, they have no phone number or any other way to contact them which I can find. It just seems so unacceptable and it really frustrates me because I love the box and would love to stay on as a customer. Honestly though, it’s a little insulting to be straight up ignored. I’m glad they are offering a sale tho!

Try using “requesting refund” in the subject line of your email–that got them to respond quickly the second time I inquired about the box. I’m sorry that happened with your boxes. Apparently the cleaner is what killed my August box, too–they said mine was apparently one where the cleaner leaked before it got to UPS. Clearly, that was some well-packaged cleaner!

I understand that mistakes like that happen, and if they quickly respond and make it right, then I tend to be fine with it. But the lack of updates on my August box before and the frequent pushing back of shipping dates (it will ship next week, wait no the week after because there’s a shortage of an item, well now 80% of the boxes has shipped, yours will be soon!) is just really frustrating to me.

Jill

I ended up having to request a refund of my August Lifestyle box. It was shown as having shipped Sept. 17, but then…nothing. The tracking just kept showing it as “ready for shipment.” In reply to my first email, they said it should ship out within a day or two. After a few weeks and nothing, I contacted them again. Apparently, mine was one that was damaged during transport to UPS. They gave me a refund and put 1500 points in my rewards account (I think this can only be used during the sales they have twice a year–can’t use toward a sub).

I did get my September box yesterday, but according to their site (on the main page, there’s a shipping updates button at the top), they’ve only shipped out half of September Lifestyle boxes so far. Says Fall boxes will start shipping 3rd week of October, but they’ve pushed that back some, along with everything else. I’ve skipped my October box (and havent subbed to the quarterly ones).

It’s frustrating that they’re having a sale and trying to draw in more subscribers (and starting new boxes, plus they did mystery boxes recently) when they’ve had shipping issues far predating Covid (I’ve been a subscriber for about a year). I feel like they need to get what they’re currently doing straightened out first, then try to draw in new customers/new boxes.

I love their products, which is why I held on with them so long, despite the issues. I skipped October but haven’t fully canceled–want to see if maybe they get this sorted out. But I just wanted to give everyone a heads up…

So tempted for a 6 or 12 month lifestyle box.

Isa

Has anyone received their seasonal lifestyle box yet? I am thinking of signing up for that, but only 2 items were released. Would be nice to see a whole box before subscribing.

Reply ButtonReply

Elle

I signed up for one over a month ago when you were still able to select the fermentation kit before it sold out. Unfortunately I don’t plan to receive it any time soon…they push back the estimated shipping date every time it gets to the originally mentioned date. They said they want to get all of the September lifestyle boxes out first before starting on the seasonal/fall lifestyle boxes and they are only 50% through the September lifestyle shipments. *sigh* took a risk with the expensive seasonal lifestyle box even though it is the first one and only 2 of the items were revealed. Hoping I get these before the holidays…thought I’d be safe with a Fall box for holiday gifts. -_-

I wish they’d send out their first fall lifestyle box already, and the mystery box they promised with subscription. I’m a little wary – I bought an annual, and no box makes me worry when I see sales.

Reply ButtonReply

Piper

Along with Jenn, I would like to know if anyone who signed up for the new quarterly box using the code has received their bonus box? I will feel better if I am not alone. 🙂 Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Piper

I am so curious: has anyone received the bonus mystery box you were supposed to receive when you signed up with a code for the new seasonal box? I haven’t received anything and I haven’t seen it mentioned in any of the shipping updates.

Joan

I’ve been getting the beauty box since it started. They seem to always be behind on shipping. I’m also waiting for the lifestyle box, but they always come through eventually.

Margie

Jenn,
I too get a little wary when I see sales of mystery boxes then I hear people aren’t receiving their regular boxes.
Now this 25% off. I would love to get a six or even 12 month subscription but I was burned before in a similar situation when a subscription box went under and I lost the money. What to do, what to do?
