The calendar has FINALLY been marked down to $49.50 today! 🙂
Apparently, not everything in their Black Friday sneak peek flyer was discounted on the 16th, but rather they’re slowly discounting BF deals daily… maybe leading up to BF when everything will finally be on sale?

This advent calendar is on sale for Black Friday now for $50. The $5 coupon from the Jo Malone box is still valid, bringing this box to $45 with the coupon.

JuJu

Speaking of Elizabeth Arden capsules, they are currently 50% off on Ulta, in case anyone is interested. I couldn’t resist and got the 90-pack of the retinol ones.

Ana

Am I missing a coupon to bring it to $49.50?

Reply ButtonReply

JenJen

In the Black Friday flyer it looks like this is $49.50 starting Nov 24.

Reply ButtonReply

Ana

Thank you! I’ll check on the 24th for this!

Luna

Heads up! This will be on sale for $49.50 starting November 16th! 🙂

Ana

It’s coming up as $69.30 for me today.

JenJen

Thanks Luna! I kept coming back here hoping I’d see a post about it going on sale. For $49.50, plus my $5 off coupon from the Oct Macy’s box, I might bite! I watched an unboxing videos on YouTube and this looks decent.

This is like the third Macy’s advent calendar that I look at and think, “I already have all of this!” 😊

And the few items I don’t have I don’t care about anyway. 🙄

Which means I have no business buying beauty products anymore altogether. 😄

I dont understand why they charge so much for advent calenders that have deluxe sized samples.. you would think they would give you at least half a box of full sizes or at least 5 full sizes for the price. I like advent calenders but theyvare so overpriced.

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

Hello! What sizes of products, anybody know?

Reply ButtonReply

Niki

After watching my daughter unbox hers every year and reading about them on here for a couple years, I’m finally getting one! SO excited to have something small to look forward to everyday like her, lol.

I was torn but after watching Eltoria on YouTube open the Look Fantastic box, I went with that one. The products seemed to be a larger size & I’m hoping the box is sturdy enough to reuse plus it came with a free gift… 😆😆

It’s cool but nothing really seems like a must-have? I love the idea of beauty advent calendars though, hoping there will be more choices!

Reply ButtonReply

SharonDK

I am going to wait and see if this gets marked down. Not that I can afford it right now, but $99 seems like a high price IMO for a box that’s mostly mini sizes.

Reply ButtonReply

Alison

Do we know if Macy’s will do they Jo Malone box that was supposed to go out in April before they paused it?

Reply ButtonReply

SharonDK

The Jo Malone box is the October beauty box. I was on the waiting list and just recently got to order it. Not sure if it’s still available.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

You should since October’s box was spoiled as the Jo Malone box 🙂

Margie

I was on the waiting list as well. My first box will be October-
Does this mean I will get the Jo Malone box?

tammy g.

it looks like i’ve tried all these products, so i won’t get this one..

I know advent is Christmas and I get that. But I wonder why no one ever makes hanukkah beauty calenders ? Every year I find myself thinking about it

Reply ButtonReply

Bethany

Now that you mention it, that is really odd! It is just as big as a celebration as Christmas! I could imagine the *cutest* packaging as well~ Maybe because I am more partial to tones like blue, white, and silver for the holidays and these are the ones that often get chosen when representing Hanukkah gifts? Plus, Macys (and *all* the others are missing out on another source of revenue they could cash in on.. which I am shocked they haven’t thought to take advantage of!)

Reply ButtonReply

Denise

yeah, i have a hard time getting to sleep so after shutting my phone off, ill just lay there thinking about stuff, and things pop into my head. having friends that celebrate this, it just seems like it would be so cool for her to have one.

Wendy

Same.

Stephanie

Hi, do you know how many full size have this box?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Just by eyeballing it, I think the full sized products are Girlactik eye liner, Tarte lip product, makeup brush, and Stila shimmer shadow. I could be wrong, but those are just my guesses. 🙂 Macy’s calendar is generally filled with mostly sample sizes.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz

Ive never purchased an advent calendar. Does anyone know if these are sample sizes? For me personally it’s a bit over my budget if its samples. TIA! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Bethany

My mom gifted me the NYX one some years back, so that is the only advice I have to go by personally. But for most, at least by looking at photos, it does seem like around 80%-90% are sample/trial/large trial sizes..

I liked my NYX box because all the eyeshadows were the true size of a shadow pan – same goes for the blushes and highlights (I think there was a bronzer but I am pale as can be so I would have handed that straight to my mum!). All the puppies were good size trials and I still have a decent amount of the less used colors! Plus the price was under $40, so it was great!

I still wish I could find an Advent Calander like that again! NYX is just fine for a drug store brand and gave me colors I wouldn’t have tried if I had to buy them on their own~ Plus.. I am on the lower spectrum of money since I live on disability! $100 would buy a few people in my family all the gifts I was going to buy from them! So spending that much for items so small and… kind of boring in a way? :/ Just not my thing.

I bought last year’s and there were no full sizes. It’s an advent calendar so there’s not a lot of room for large products. I waited for it to go on sale and got it for less than $30 and still had time to use the coupon (barely).

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

That eye pencil was in last year’s box and I believe it’s full size. It’s fantastic too. Also the brush is if course full size. Mascara is possibly full size. There might be more

Nat

Combination of samples and full sizes. Do to the size of the calendar, they can’t really put full sizes of everything in there.

Chelsea

Luna, you rock. Thanks for the heads up!

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

You’re welcome! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Denise

Looks nicer than last year’s I think and much cheaper than the europe ones

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I was thinking the same thing 🙂 I got last year’s, and enjoyed it, but this one does seem to be better on its curation this year (at least by satisfying what types of products make a good calendar to me 😉 ).

Reply ButtonReply

Denise

I have a feeling this might just sell out. People are desperate for a little cheer to look forward to. At least I am and I’m not a big Christmas person

Reply ButtonReply

Denise

That’s true also sadly ughhh.

Nat

People are also out of jobs so not sure if a calendar would cheer them up. So there is that.

Curious if anyone actually does their Advent Calendars when their supposed to?

I’ve gotten 2 advent beauty boxes in the past, one I believe I opened all at once (love the box yet its been 3 years and still have products to use) .. But! The Lancome one I got to share with my husband and wanted to try the brand. We did it together like we were supposed to day by day. He has super dry skin and likes when I give him baths or even washing his back taking a shower. So lotions I’d use myself but also use to rub on his face. He enjoys the attention and sweet treatments given.

He’d prefer chocolate and candy advent but I wanted to try beauty ones since they were everywhere. It was nice finding ways to share with him but ill never buy lancome again. For $70+ it felt like a rip off with their tiny 1-3 uses samples. Lol

I’m passing this year as I have far too much make up and skin care to use. Plus I know ill end up buying a few things no matter what Black Friday/ Cyber Monday from Sephora ECT.

I open all of the 24- and 25-day calendars daily starting on December 1st, and I open 12-day calendars every other day starting on December 2nd, so I’ll finish them on the 24th. I love opening them each day, because for me it does feel like Christmas all month long. I prefer to see spoilers for my calendars before taking the plunge (although this year, I did buy the LF calendar blind), but once December comes around I usually forget most of what’s in each calendar, and if I do remember any spoilers, then it’s still a surprise because I’ll have no idea which door it’s behind. Opening the calendars is always such a happy & fun time in my household, and tbh the experience of opening the calendars and the time we take to ooh & aah over each item, getting off on tangents during the reveals, etc. is part of the “value” of the calendars for me too. 🙂 But I totally get why others would want to rip into them right when they get them! 😀

Luna

That’s what I’ve done the past few years too! 🙂 I always gift advent calendars after Thanksgiving dinner while we’re letting everything settle between the main event and pie. I wrap them up too! With the Mankind calendar, which is a 25-day all full-size calendar (why don’t women get one like that!??!) it’s always a bit tricky because it’s SO heavy! Earlier this year, I bought the Macy’s calendar on sale for $25 ($40 less a $15 Macy’s coupon) in January, and even though I had already received the Macy’s calendar as a gift and enjoyed it in December, I still opened the 2nd one one day at a time when I received it in January. By then, I had somewhat forgotten what all was included as well as what was behind each door, so it was like Christmas all over again. 🙂

Jacki

I’m going to get myself one to open in January this year. It will be a nice treat. I am gifting my family advent calendars at Thanksgiving. Some I’m making myself and some will be purchased. I like the idea of having time to enjoy each gift.

Nat

I got this calendar last year, but waited until December to get it and it was super discounted. Doing the same this year and hopefully they’ll have the same sale before it sells out.

Reply ButtonReply

Tat

Ok, Luna. Get it now, wait, avoid?

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

In terms of whether to avoid it, I can’t say since that depends on whether you personally like what’s included. I personally like what I see, but knowing how much it gets discounted, I will wait on purchasing it. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Definitely wait 🙂 I plan on waiting until November to see what it’s marked down to. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Hi Julia! Last year it was first discounted 50% off the week before Thanksgiving 🙂

Julia

Just as long as you keep us updated when it’s discounted. The two Luxie 504 brushes I have from ipsy want that sister.

Luna

Just a heads up… the 2019 calendar initially sold for $100, but was marked down 50% in November, and was marked down again to $40 in January. If you sub to the Macy’s beauty box you can use the included coupon on this too. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

What’s the included coupon on Macy’s Beauty Box? I just signed up for Macy’s yesterday but didn’t see anything about a coupon

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

In the monthly subscription box there was always a coupon to use on any beauty item. It was either $5 or $10 coupon. I hope they continue to put these in the box.
