Heart + Honey Queen Bee Box August 2020 Review

This month’s Heart + Honey is ‘Aloha’ themed which is perfect for the end of summer!

Always included is an info card with product and theme information.

Maui Soap Company ‘Maui Kiss’ Body Lotion, 8 oz – Retail Value $10.99

This lotion feels great on my skin and has much more of a sharp grapefruit and citrus scent than anything beachy. This is a plus for me, as someone who struggles with tropical scents (AND fall scents. Something inside me is broken). This is still a little fruitier than I would normally go for but I love the formula. I also love that it is Hawaiian made!

Maui Soap Company Hawaiian Soap Hibiscus with Kukui & Coconut Oil , 6 oz – Retail Value $7.99

This soap is another Hawaiian made treat! The scent here is still sweet and fruity, but balanced out with a tart hibiscus note. I actually like it a lot! It also helps that the soap itself is just gorgeous and feels really special to use. My skin feels clean and moisturized after using this and my whole bathroom smells great.

Hawaiian Aromatherapy Body Mist in ‘Coconut Milk’, 2 fl oz – Retail Value $13.99

I really want to love this mist, but the super-strong coconut scent is just not for me. It is very much a beach vacation perfume sort of deal though, so maybe I am just bitter that I haven’t seen the ocean in so long? If you love beachy + suntan scents, this is going to make you really happy!

The Aloha Pendant Necklace

How pretty is this rose gold pendant? I love it when this box sends unique and quality pieces! This one is rose gold over sterling and features the most delicate little flower wreath/lei. Seriously, this tiny pendant is so detailed. I love that there are all different sorts of elements on it, like a carved shell flower, a pink milky crystal, clear and pink crystals, a pearl, and more.

So cute, right?

Satisfyer Yummy Sunshine – Retail Value $50.00

Ok, I know the color of a vibe isn’t something you really, well, SEE that much when you are utilizing it but how freaking cute is this yellow?? True, this thing is much bigger looking than it looks in the pictures, so maybe the yellow makes it feel more approachable? Hmm. ANYWAYS this ray of vibrating sunshine has 12 different modes, is made of flexible silicone, and is a real treat. It also easily recharges via the included USB cord.

Verdict: Heart + Honey might not have been my favorite theme this month, but I would hope more people out there love beachy fragrances than I do. If I did, I would be pretty thrilled with this curation, and not just because of the vibe. Everything felt really great quality-wise and I love that three items were Hawaiian-made, fitting the theme perfectly! The necklace is gorgeous and the vibe is pretty awesome too. This delivery felt like a nice ode to summer.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first box will be the September box. Normally your subscription will start the month following the month you subscribe, but if there are current boxes still available you may be able to snag one! Heart + Honey will usually reach out when you first subscribe if you have an option.

From Heart + Honey:

Subscription orders are taken from the first day of the month, until the last. Renewals occur on the 15th of the month. I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

  1. Does anyone know what brand the necklace is? I think it’s super pretty & unique! I don’t want to purchase the box just for that so any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

    • There are a bunch of very similar (if not exact) necklaces on Ebay. Search “rose gold wreath necklace”. It looks like there are similar ones for %2 shipped from China (if you wanted to take the chance) or marked 925 (sterling) necklaces for $15-$20.

      • Thanks Rose! I was trying to type in different names for this necklace on eBay but none of the ones you mentioned came up but I was able to find them thanks to you! The $2 ones look more circular than oval but I might try to get the $10 after finding out more info from the seller since there is none but I’m not expecting quality for $10. Lol they look the exact same from the pics. From heart and honey to the eBay ones.

    • Hi AnnaMarie! Sadly it was unbranded. I wish I could pass along more info to you!

      • That’s okay thanks though!

  2. MSA – Can you please list the SIZE of the hero item?

    • Sure thing Beth! It is 8.5 inches long and the circumference averages about 4.5 inches around in most spots!

  3. Would love to see the cheaper box reviewed for an idea of the quality difference- are their non-premium toys still good or generic $12 Amazon quality?

    • I haven’t gotten the Bumblebee box, but when I asked, I was told the biggest difference is that they are battery operated, instead of USB cord. For me, that is fine. The USB battery ones seem to have a shorter life between charges and it’s a real drag when your toy has to be charged first. I know a lot of people who prefer USB though…

  4. I would loooooooove to sub to this box, if only I had the funds 😥 also I’d be scared to ship it to my apt bc I have a roommate whom I share a bedroom with, and at my parents’ house I have a nosey sister who wants to open packages with me! Hopefully this box will be around for a long time so I can sub when I can. I really love the yellow of that vibrator and that necklace is so cute!

  5. I really wish these reviews were more thorough and contained more information about the toy it’s extremely conservative to the point that it’s disappointing.

    • I sort of agree. I don’t know how they decide who reviews one which box but I definitely think that this one should be reviewed by someone much more comfortable discussing the toys. Chrissy Harless does a pretty good review of this box.

      • Yes, Chrissy does! Since a big part of the selling point of this box is the toy, I agree with both of you. Maybe they are trying to keep MSA family friendly, I dunno, but I wish the toy reviews were as creative as the rest of the items.

On a more positive note, that necklace is divine! Another superbly curated box Nevada!!!

    • I agree. Its a costly box, so a thorough review could tip the scale. It would be nice to see a mix of people review this box, or at the very least someone else.

      • Maybe thoughts, how it went when you used it, what pleasure you felt. You describe the object, but not your experience with it.

      • I get this might be a point of curiosity, but I have always tried to objectively describe the toys in ways that might be helpful to anyone reading who likely is going to have a totally different experience with such an intimate object. I think it makes more sense to leave my feelings in that realm. I try to be as open as I can in my reviews, but there has to be a little room for a little privacy. I assure anyone that if you enjoy toys that vibrate, this will most likely be a win for you though! The cheerful yellow was another plus.

    • Hi Boxy! What other details are you looking for?

    • Wow, this surprises me as I have been so impressed with Megan’s reviews that manage to be really informative and well written while remaining in good taste. I think that her descriptions of the toys and accompanying pictures offer enough information, especially since pleasure is such a subjective experience.

  6. I have that diamond-shaped potato that has not (and never will) be used. I’ll even throw in the stupid bubble bath and hand cream if someone wants that crap (as if that counts as “self care”). I signed up for a dildo box – not a gold potato box…and hand cream??? I’ll list the stupid potato, as it hasn’t been used. I just can’t believe that anyone actually wants it.

    • I thought it looked so cute and it’s definitely unique. I have loads of toys but nothing that looks like this. I’d love to swap for it.

    • I’m not sure you researched or read any of the previous reviews before subscribing to this box. Body items like hand creams, bubble baths, oils etc and things like candles and pretty jewelry are included nearly every month. And if having a candle lit bubble bath and then applying a lux body oil post self pleasuring isn’t indulgent self care, then I don’t know what is. The toys from this box are varied and are meant to introduce you to a variety of different pleasurable devices. We have gotten everything from kegels, to posterior toys, to air toys. It is not listed as a “dildo box” so I am not sure why you would think that it is. There are plenty of adult boxes out there that focus on traditional toys that sound like they would be a better fit for you. The CEO of the box puts so much time into her curation, that I find this comment to be pretty insulting. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but you could have made it a little more tactfully.

      • Well said. Some people are so crude. This is a lovely box and there is always so much effort put into each box. Such eloquence in their writing, maybe they should have done some research before purchasing 🙂

  7. “Ray of vibrating sunshine ” love that phrase, thank you for my morning laugh !

  8. I signed up for this box to get the gold diamond shaped vibe. I was pretty bummed when this box showed up instead because I misunderstood their sign up schedule. I still really want last months toy but this one is actually really pleasant.

    • @Mim TBH I don’t think that the diamond shaped toy was all that great beyond looking cute.

    • Mim, I’m going to post it, if you’re on the swap boards??
