Glow by Local Eclectic Jewelry Review - Summer 2020

From start to finish, this delivery had a great unboxing experience.

Here are the info sheets about the jewelry in this box. One thing I like about the info sheets is the care instructions on the bottom. The gold plated and vermeil jewelry is recommended for “occasional” use, which is handy to know.

The back of the info sheet had more information about the brands that created this unique-t0-the-box jewelry.

Copo New York Nail Polish in Summer Soirée, 0.5 oz - Retail Value $14

Every quarterly box comes with a small bonus item, and this time around we received a holographic pouch with daisies on it and a pink nail polish. I am due for an at-home pedicure, and I think this dusty-pink shade will be perfect on my toes. The formula is 10-free and was opaque in two coats when I tested it out on my big toe.

The Galaxy Pendant by Tai Jewelry

This is the subscription for you if you like dainty jewelry, and that’s exemplified perfectly with this small pendant necklace. The pendant is gold plated brass and is adorned with two small CZ stones, and it features a galaxy etched into the surface with small planets and stars. The lobster clasp has about two inches of loops to hook onto for a customized fit, and while it is on the shorter side it fit comfortably against my neck. This would be a super cute piece to layer, but it is dainty and pretty worn alone as well.

On The Rocks Ring by Lust & Luster - Buy the same style ring with a different stone for $109 here

I have never been a ring wearer, but that was before this one came into my life. My fingers are a little chubby so rings fitting properly can be difficult, and if it’s not incredibly comfortable I won’t wear it throughout the day. This ring fits perfectly and has a gorgeous amethyst doublet surrounded by small CZ stones and set in 14k gold vermeil over sterling silver. I wear minimal accessories to my day job, but this little sparkler actually goes great with my typical black dress and blazer.

Verdict: This may be one of my favorite boxes from this subscription because I love that ring so much! The entire box experience was lovely, from the unboxing to the bonus items to the jewelry itself. This box is on the pricier end, but I think it’s worth it if you want to treat yourself every few months and enjoy dainty jewelry. As a bonus, the exact styles and stones sent in this box are a Glow exclusive, so you know that the jewelry you wear won’t be seen on the masses.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the Fall Box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $99 with free shipping, which means you are paying $49.50 per piece of jewelry.

Oh my. I would be so upset if I paid this price for a necklace I can purchase on amazon for 7.00 and that hideous ring. This box is way over priced imo

Joy-Not the Other One

It just goes to show how different everyone is because I LOVE THIS RING! I Always look forward to this review and am seriously considering signing up. The awesome stud earrings you got last time are what really hooked me and now after this ring I think I’m sold. 😍 I bet this ring stuns with your black work ensemble. Thanks for reviewing.

Thank you for the review. The necklace is pretty. The ring is hideous. I would be extremely disappointed if I spent $99 on these two pieces.

$99 for gold plated brass?! That’s ridiculous. I could find a million necklaces like that online for far less then $50. A few weeks ago I bought a sterling silver ring, size 10 for my fat sausage fingers, with a giant moonstone for $12, with free shipping.

Just looking at Etsy, I found earrings in 10k actual gold in the $25-35 range. Comparing this sub to another jewelry sub that gets reviewed here, that’s $35? a month, there is no comparison. That one has sparkly vermeil rings monthly, along with 2 other pieced that are almost always stamped .925. Plus the occasional use thing? I need stuff I can live in. I tend to wear things for a long time. I can put on a pair of earrings and not take them out for months, same with a necklace. Good review though Jessica!

These are cute pieces — the necklace really would fit my style — but the price of this box is too high for me.

Yikes that is pricey for what you get. I’d much rather sub to any of the other jewelry subs, but that’s my opinion.

Sandra

Agreed. Looks incredibly tacky for the price but of course, to each his own.
