The Clean Beauty Box August/September 2020 "Sun Drenched" Review

Each month, The Clean Beauty Box features an artist to design their box and info booklet. This month features a really cute pattern with frolicking ladies, tropical fruit, palms, and leopards.

Free + True Ramblin Rose Hydrating Serum, 1.7 fl oz - Retail Value $68.00

I am loving all the floral formulas that keep popping up in my boxes this summer. This rose-inspired blend contains so many delightful things: pomegranate, neroli, rose, hibiscus, panthenol, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and white tea extracts! It is a clear and thin gel sort of texture that absorbs really easily. One caveat: you don't need a lot of this. If you apply it too thickly, it feels dry. Just use a pinch and it absorbs beautifully and leaves skin totally prepped for a moisturizer. These ingredients used over time work wonders for overall skin hydration and texture!

Free + True Bright Side Vitamin C Serum - Listed Value $15.00 (Buy a full-size 1 fl oz for $72.00)

I actually think I liked this serum even more than the first! It has a beautiful golden color and smells like citrus and flowers. It actually feels more moisturizing on my face than the previous one, too. Major callouts include 2 different and highly brightening forms of vitamin C, niacinamide, and loads of other beneficial botanical extracts and essences. While this is a serum, it feels almost like a very thin and light cream. I did find it just ever so slightly tacky, but a moisturizer on top fixes that instantly.

Wild + Free Freedom Fighter Antioxidant Face Oil, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $68.00

I love oils in my skincare routine, especially in the winter when my dry skin needs even more help! The biggest portion of this mix is a 25% concentration cranberry oil which is full of omega oils that help fight free-radicals that cause aging. Bolstering up that cranberry oil are sea buckthorn and raspberry oils, which help with inflammation and promote rapid healing. This oil is on the heavier side but would be great for nighttime! It also might feel counter-intuitive to use this on a blemish, but if you have one that is already in the process of healing, I would highly recommend trying this on top.

Verdict: The Clean Beauty Box introduced me to yet another new to me brand that I really like. The ingredients inside these formulas are really stellar and totally skin loving. I also liked being able to try two of their serums and to see which one I liked better.  The value here was good, too: $151.00 worth of goodness.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.
