I have a question about the lantern. How does it light? Is it for a tea light, battery operated or solar powered?

Reply ButtonReply

Sam

Hey Caitlin it has a little metal round at the base like for a tea light candle. I’d recommend using beeswax candles though they last much longer! I got some nice ones off etsy by a company called danny and the bees

Reply ButtonReply

Caitlin

Thanks! I was trying to figure that out.

Mandi

I am so glad spoilers are posted because I was debating on purchasing an annual subscription for the choosing power. However, all of the spoilers seem like cheap junk. The only item I would actually want out of all 3 categories is maybe the robe and I’m not going to shell out $200 upfront just for that. I guess I’ll just stick with my FFF and Boxy subs and have extra cash to spend in their sales.

Allison

This is going to be my second box and I am not a fan of anything in spoilers one or two. I have tons of robes (also I’m plus size so it definitely won’t fit me) just spent a ton on all new towels and bath sheets, already grow basil in my kitchen, don’t use cosmetic rounds. I like both of the items in the third category. Too bad I can’t get both of those! Lol. Maybe the other things will be more interesting or useful. Can’t win them all I guess.

I got my Intro Box yesterday (the one with the portfolio clutch) & was happy with it! I actually planned on keeping my subscription but the value doesn’t seem to be there based on these spoilers. I think the lantern looks really cute & wouldn’t mind getting a robe, but a “Buzzy Seeds basil grow kit”? You can buy those on clearance at Joann’s for $1!

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

What else did you get in your intro box? Mine is supposed to be here Saturday!

Reply ButtonReply

LJ

I got my Summer Intro Box #1 yesterday as well:

Grey portfolio clutch
Travel jewelry zippered case
More of the silicone lids
Kojac sponge
Another Grace & Stella hyaluronic acids serum

After seeing everything in person months later I do know why I had to have it. I’ll be keeping the silicone lids and packaging the rest up for a birthday gift 🤷‍♀️

Krys568

I’m confused, assumed artisan, hand made and ethical products (per their mission statement) would be included in my box but every single item is mass produced Junk and made in China. Every single one. What the heck? My intro box was an utter disappointment of stuff I could pick up for under $50 total at @tjmaxx. I’d this normal? I feel scammed and I waited two months from ordering fir this.

You know you bring up a good point. The last few boxes were a bit underwhelming for me and I couldn’t really figure out why, but I think you’ve identified the problem for me.

They double-billed me, my credit card refunded the annual amount that was billed twice and they still sent a second box and it was stuffI absolutely know that I did not order. When I contacted CS, she sent me an email about how they normally don’t issue refunds and made it seem like it was my error. This left me really frustrated and a bit angry because I’m the one contacting you about your error and your response is to somehow imply that it was my fault and that you’re doing me a favor by correcting my mistake. WRONG!! The email said they were STILL going to charge for me a box I did not even order although my credit card company had already issued a refund for the entire annual amount. Meanwhile, I’m watching a plethora of people post about missing boxes, delayed shipping and a bunch of other issues.

CAUSEBOX has really gone down hill this year and they need to evaluate what is working and return to their mission statement.

As to this box, I’m not understanding a few of these choices. That lamp while cute, looks cheap and something that can easily be found at the Dollar store and the RVU is ridiculous, I don’t know who would pay $40 for that thing.

The towels and robe are cute, but “line dry only” towels seem the right choice to save energy, except the reality is that many of us don’t have time to pull a single towel or two from a pile of laundry and hang dry by itself. No, we are in a hurry and chuck it all in the dryer And hope for the best when it comes out. As to the robe, this is a ridiculous choice and a “one-size world view” isn’t going to help plus size ladies and those of us that are tall. Last one-size robe from F3 wouldn’t cover my lady parts and my bum hung out air drying.

I’m still trying to figure out what to do with the letter board. It may very well be the most useless item I’ve received in a box and an item that I did NOT order.

I’ve said this before on their FB boards and got harassed and called a racist, but I refuse to put a Chinese-made cosmetic or pharmaceutical on my face and now I have two bottles of that Grace & Stella Hyaluronic Acid.

I hope CAUSEBOX is listening because many of us migrated from F3 when shipping and broken crap started arriving. Now it seems, F3 is moving forward while CB is trying to move back from it’s very own mission statement. It is time to are evaluate and consider more sustainable changes.

If they try to bill you again for that box then create a complaint with the BBB. They will refund you promptly if you do that. That’s a load of crap.

Emilia

I have just checked my items – tote, PMD, sponge, serum, lids – all made in China. I am actually in total disbelief right now…

Reply ButtonReply

Kate

Same here. I finally got mine this week and was so disappointed. Like you said, every single item was made in China, they look cheap, and the whole thing smelled horribly chemically. I cancelled immediately. I’d rather spend my money on quality items I will actually use.

Reply ButtonReply

Mandi

Yes! The planner smells like gasoline. It’s a bizarre smell.

LJ

The planner I received does still have a lingering scent after being out of the box for 24h. I may have to gently rub some diluted simple green on the outside.

Kelly

I’m curious what you received in your intro box? Mine just shipped and wont’ be here until Saturday. It’s the one with the Glass & Co planner and choice of jewelry box or Bento Box. Is that the version you got?

Reply ButtonReply

Emilia

Since I am a seasonal subscriber, I would have no choice if items. This is a dealbreaker for me, especially when the items are from different categories. I don’t like half of them this time. I cannot risk getting a box of useless stuff when the money is tight. I’d rather buy exactly what I need from someone in a subscription box group.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicky

Exactly! As long as they remain the same, I won’t subscribe again.

Reply ButtonReply

Nicky

I wish Causebox was like it was. They used to offer the same items for everyone, only with a color variation. But you were always sure about what you’d get. Now I’m here wondering if I buy this box and I get the plant and that cheap lamp, I’ll be so dissapointed. So I never bought it again.

Items that rarely have a similarity with the other:
Plant vs. Facial Rounds
Lantern vs. Tumbler
Letterboard vs. Makeup Brush
Jewelry Case vs. Spoons

I mean… seriously stop.

Reply ButtonReply

Natasha

Excellent choices! Which, obviously means I am choosing the same items as you 😂

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

I saw this spoiler and cancelled. I’m a 14-16 so the robe would be too small, I already have an infuser from either FFF or another box, air dried towels, just a lot of no from me. I’m glad other ppl are excited tho.

Reply ButtonReply

Charlotte

The robe not having inclusive sizing is a huge bummer and why as a seasonal subscriber I canceled. Why include a product that excludes so many people in a category that seasonal members can’t choose from? At the very least, give seasonal subscribers the option to say they don’t want the robe. This just feels very customer-unfriendly.

Reply ButtonReply

Barbara

I paused this box…i don’t need towels that can’t go in the dryer and the rest of the spoilers are products I really don’t need or want

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

Does anyone know when the last day to cancel (for seasonal) before getting billed will be?

Reply ButtonReply

Erica

Causebox said September 1.But i will cancel before then.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

I am so happy that causebox is finally understanding that the values in the category should be the same. I messaged them after last season boxes various prices fiasco. So I’m super happy to see that change. I’m pretty sure I will go with the lantern as I don’t drink tea and I just got a swell bottle from causebox and the glass bottle from FFF. But regardless these choices kill me just like how I want the matching set of towels and robe. I really hope causebox can once again listen to the wants of its consumers and add the option to buy additional options in the categories like FFF does. I hate making these decisions. Please causebox 🙏🏼

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

I agree I think it would be wonderful to add on in a certain category . I’m so indecisive with cat 3 I want both. And would’ve loved to pay an additional fee for the other offer . I do like that fff offers that to us. It would be great to see them move in that motion as well.🤞

Reply ButtonReply

Didds

I love the tea tumbler but it holds 12 oz. That’s barely 1 sip haha. I’m skipping this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

If I want to skip this box, when’s the last day to do so for annual members? Where do you get that information?

Reply ButtonReply

Jeanne

So yeah the response from customer service confirms that the skip or pause date is the same as the cancel date:

“We do ask pause requests be submitted prior to the seasonal renewal date (March 1st for Spring, June 1st for Summer, September 1st for Fall, December 1st for Winter) in order to guarantee you prevent receiving a box for that season.”

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Their website says that you have to cancel before the charge date, which is September 1.

Reply ButtonReply

Jeanne

I just emailed CB customer service asking the same question. If there’s no reply to you comment by the time I hear from them I’ll share their reply!

Reply ButtonReply

Jeanne

So far it seems both Causebox and Fabfitfun go on vacation for the Fall lol! The Fall boxes are always a bit meh to me so far. But! It’s not terrible. I’m just not “wow’ed”. I will probably choose the mint robe, the lantern anddddd I have no idea for the first spoiler. I don’t really want to grow basil from seeds. I don’t have the patience but since I got a makeup eraser I have no need for the rounds either. Hmm. Hoping for some more useful things though. Would have chosen the tea infuser if I didn’t already have one.

I have to say that the bowls and the bowl covers are my most used items from the summer box. I never expect to love everything but if I love or at least use the crap out of 2-3 items I find it worth it!

Also, I’ve often gotten second choice times in the following season’s market sale so if you’re considering a second subscription because you want more than one item in a category I recommend to try the market first!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna Banana

I guess I’m in the minority, but the lamp looks cheap and something I would get from the dollar store, and this is from someone who loves lanterns.

Reply ButtonReply

Jean

Agreed. My infuser pitcher gave up the ghost this summer so I’m going with the bottle for that reason. But the lantern looks flimsy.

Reply ButtonReply

sam

No you’re not alone I’ll be choosing the infuser which I think looks really awesome, but the lantern looks like some tat you would buy in a variety store for a few $… the $40 price tag is just ridiculous. I imagine for $40 a similar item but maybe as a ceramic with some beautiful hand painted design. GlobeIn has some similar sort of things and they’re really beautiful, handmade also and cheaper. I like this box as a concept just wish they wouldn’t exaggerate things in that way

Reply ButtonReply

Gillian Labe

I received my Spring box in the Summer and 100% sure my Summer box won’t be here until Fall, I have no desire to get my Fall box in he Winter…. I canceled.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy in KC

I got my Summer Intro Box yesterday. I think it was Intro Box #1 (it had the portfolio clutch, jewelry box …). It was amazing! Hope your Summer Box arrives soon.

Reply ButtonReply

Melody

Now we’re talking…
I’m actually excited about this spoiler! I’d be happy with either but will choose the lantern because I just moved it’ll be fun to have a few new decor items 😁

Reply ButtonReply

AB

So far I don’t have the wow factor like I did for the Summer box… BUT I do appreciate these items. I’m not in the hurry to run out and buy these items individually but packaged together in a box I’m down for. I’m picking the robe (in mint), the eye pads and the tea infuser. I’m hoping the stay at home spa theme carries on. I can definitely use a little extra pampering so me time in the time of COVID-19.

Reply ButtonReply

Sam

I’m a guy and I’m liking the look of this. Charcoal cotton towels are nice. Basil grower, bit dinky (you should see compared to for example the hydroponic growers you can get from bespoke post). And the tea brewer, looks really cool. If any of the remaining items are specifically for women will be giving as gifts. Ok the MSRP seems a bit exaggerated but I like the idea of them supporting female run companies, so for $50 a season whats the harm. I know I’ll at least be getting a couple of great gift items and that basically covers the cost right there, everything else is a bonus I can keep 🙂 . On the note of MSRP, I cant really say enough good things about bespoke post. As an example, they had a few boxes that were Nisolo leather sneakers, $45! And I missed out and even paid full msrp from the Nisolo site because they’re so nice. They also put me onto a couple of cool niche brands that I’ve since got other products from and been very happy with. Anyway sorry for the off topic but if you guys are concerned about like exaggerated msrp / quality to price I cant really recommend bespoke post enough. Cheers all 🙂

I appreciate your review of Bespoke as a guy. I’m always trying to find something to send the guys in my life that they can enjoy as much as I enjoy my boxes. I’m going to give them a look for an upcoming birthday present 🎁 for someone who has everything I 🤔 of already.
Thanks for sharing 🤗

NinaS

Are you single? (Lol) Loved loved loved your post!

Reply ButtonReply

HattiJ

That comment was uncalled for, and rude. Comment sections are here for us to discuss the boxes, including comparing them to other boxes. They are not here to give Karens and bullies a platform, so if anyone should feel unwelcome here, it’s people like you.

Reply ButtonReply

Molly

Sam, I care. Thanks for sharing. Methinks quarantine has made some people cranky.

Reply ButtonReply

Molly

I adore Bespoke Post! I always find something I like, and I’m female 😁

Reply ButtonReply

SquirrelyGirl

Super rude. People frequently discuss other similar boxes in the comment sections. Such an unnecessary comment.

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

Sam, share the ❤️ of Bespoke Post!! I appreciate coming on here and reading other people’s opinions. BP has such interesting, “themed” boxes that aren’t filled with a bunch of junk. Great for guys and girls!! Also makes a great gift for those men in your life who are impossible to shop for. And I have to say they have stellar customer service and no delayed shipping issue’s, even at this time.

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

Lol, are you joking? You’ve got to be joking with this comment.

Reply ButtonReply

Tina

I love BP. I bought for my husband and think the value is pretty great most of the time. Sorry people have to be so rude! How many times do people talk about TJ Max or other boxes (re FFF in other posts here) in comparison to the reviewed box? ALL THE TIME! Sheesh!

Reply ButtonReply

Sheri

Welcome Sam. I like Bespoke also, however it costs a lot more too. I am glad you like Causebox! It does support great causes. Additionally I thought about getting the charcoal robe for my husband.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

Need to cancel or go annual. I love that lantern.

Reply ButtonReply

Faith

Me toooo. I love it. Everything in this box looks great.

Reply ButtonReply

Tomorrow

I wasn’t really feeling this box, until this spoiler! I love both the lantern and on the go brewer. I wish they allowed members to do get extras, like FFF.

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

I was just thinking the same thing. I’d love to have both. I’m not as excited about the robe or towels in this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Claudia

Loving these spoilers. The last box was just OK, but I’m excited for this one.

Reply ButtonReply

Lorina

OK, I LOVE the lantern, but I have a thing about stars so maybe just me. I think it would be cute to use on the patio in early Fall.

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

I understand why everyone is upset that they have to air dry the robe and the towels, but it says right there in the description that they dry really fast. Has anyone had experience with air drying these?

Reply ButtonReply

Clarice

Where did you find the info that the robe/towels can’t be dried in the dryer? I haven’t been able to find care instructions anywhere and I’ve never heard of a towel that needs to be air dried after washing.

Reply ButtonReply

Victoria

It’s in their responses on Instagram, they suggest that the towels and robes be air dried only, or in the dryer with no heat, cause “the heat will tighten the weave.”

Kristin

For the life of me why include something that needs hung to dry?

Reply ButtonReply

Crystal

Because it’s better for the environment which is one of the focuses of the box.

Reply ButtonReply

Bethie

That’s a good point. I already air dry several things, so the robe won’t be a big deal.
