Beauty Heroes August 2020 Review feat. Josh Rosebrook

You'll always get a card with a new monthly ritual that includes past and present featured Beauty Heroes items.

The second info card you'll get has a little more info about the featured brand, Josh Rosebrook, as well as details on the three items sent.

Josh Rosebrook Daily Acid Toner, 3.3 oz - Retail Value $29.00

Josh Rosebrook is one of my favorite clean beauty brands. The formulas are nourishing and the whole line feels delightfully minimal. This is a new release and I was so excited to give it a shot this month. It contains a blend of malic, citric, tartaric, and glycolic fruit and flower acids that when used over time help to decongest the skin and improve overall texture and firmness while promoting cell turnover. This toner can be applied with a cotton round or cotton ball and it just takes a quarter size amount to cover your face. I like to use upward strokes starting under my chin. This feels a lot more gentle than my normal acid toner and it is really actually quite calming. This doesn't surprise me too much since this is a line that is all about anti-inflammation and inside to balance out those acids are aloe, hyaluronic acid, glycerine, calendula, chamomile, and vitamin B5. It also smells pretty great!

Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator, 2 fl oz - Retail Value $22.00

Yeah, I know. Mists are pretty common in my boxes. But I legit love them so much! This is a newbie to me and it is quickly becoming a favorite. Mists at the very least are refreshing to your skin, but this one comes with other benefits like deep hydration, pH balance, and help with inflammation. For being such a light mist, it is hard to believe it has nourishing oils like jojoba, marula, hemp, sesame, argan, and even more inside. Seriously, this mist packs a moisture punch with virtually no heaviness! It also feels a lot like aromatherapy because it smells like garden herbs and flowers. Yum!

Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $55.00

Finally, the last item inside our box this month is a daily moisturizer with SPF 30. I have basically given up on foundation this year. I don't feel like I need it and I HATE that it leaves residue inside my masks! This moisturizer evens out my skin enough to help it look great, but is light enough to not end up covering the inside of those masks. The tint itself should be great for "a full range of skin tones" as it is more of a light-reflecting sort of deal instead of an actual skin tint. It also feels pretty great on and absorbs in a snap, leaving behind a soft and glowing sort of finish. If this stuff wasn't so expensive, I would totally buy more.

Verdict: This was such a great Beauty Heroes box! I am biased because I already know and love the Josh Rosebrook brand. All three of these products felt tailor-made to my routine. I also think this specific acid toner is so great for someone wanting to dive into AHAs. The overall value is $106 which isn't a staggering value for a $58.95 box but is still almost 50% savings which I can totally get behind for a brand I want more of in my life.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Nice review. I’m really enjoying this box. I had only tried his cacao mask before – too stingy for me. All three products are really nice, my one not quite a complaint is I kept reading how good the hydrating accelerator smells – it (or at least the one I received) smells bad. My husband commented on it, like bathroom cleaner. It dissipates fast, worth it for how well it works but maybe not my holy grail bc I really enjoy the ritual of breathing my mist deeply for a few moments.
