Vegancuts Makeup Box "Bronzed & Bright" Summer 2020 Review

Each Vegancuts Makeup Box comes with an information card detailing the items for that quarter.

FYI: Some of these shades (lip balm, lipstick, and powder) are customizable to subscribers! Depending on your choices, your box might look a little different than mine, though the products should all be the same.

Wild Beauty Cosmetics Tinted Lip Balm in 'Lucy in the Sky', 0.3 oz - Retail Value $14.00

Tinted lip balm is always found in my purse or in my desk drawer. It looks great alone or adds moisture throughout the day to my longer lasting lipsticks. I thought this shade would be brighter from the choice images, but this shade is actually a soft natural pink that adds just a hint of color to my lips! I do think I would have liked that electric sort of pink, but this is really pretty too. It is super hydrating and helps my lips stay smooth for hours because this formula is full of shea and coconut oil. It doesn't have a real scent to it, which is actually kind of nice.

Just a hint of pink.

Red Apple Lipstick in 'Starlette', 4.5 g - Retail Value $25.00

This pinkish-red shade is a dream and is going to look great on anyone! It is also allergen-free, vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free, making its a great lipstick formula for almost anybody. It applies super smooth and has a satin/velvet sort of finish. It feels really hydrating on, too! If you look closely, the lipstick does have the most subtle shimmer inside, but this doesn't show up on the lips, instead making them look more radiant without looking sparkly.

I am excited to wear this often!

Code Beautiful CODE VLM Mascara 12 mL - Retail Value $25.54

I don't think I have tried anything from this brand before (it gets harder and harder to remember!) so I was excited to see it inside the box this month. True, I really don't need any more black mascara. It isn't my fave item to get in boxes because I feel like I take my time getting through a mascara tube. What makes this one special is that it is cruelty-free, paraben-free, and vegan and it contains vitamins and waxes that promote overall lash health and length. It also features a brush with different sizes bristles to capture your lashes no matter the length or stage of hair growth. I found that in terms of volume and length on my lashes, it lays somewhere in between a natural look and all-out drama, which is usually where I like to land in terms of mascara.

Ere Perez Rice Powder Blush and Bronzer in 'Roma', 9 g -Retail Value $38.20

I really like the Ere Perez brand because they have great formulas with thoughtful ingredients and very cute packaging. I am not someone who usually uses a lot of bronzer. I don't think even if I was super skilled it would be a great look for me, but in the summer even I want a little glow. As a sunscreen junkie, this is unlikely to happen on its own, so I cracked open this compact with anticipation. Sure, the shades look super rich in the pan. But swatch them and they are delightfully subtle and actually not too red or orange for me, especially when applied with a fluffy brush! I liked that the pan was split into halves so I could select from either or blend both. This stuff also has a super delightful cinnamon sort of scent!

Here are both of the shades swatched! They could also both easily double as natural eyeshadows.

Carlucce Cache Cream Brush - Retail Value $38.00

Our last item is a beautiful brush with a super unique head shape. This allows it to be especially wonderful for applying cream formulas because the flat panes and middle point allow you to easily apply it to all areas of the face. It is also a wonderful contour brush because that center ridge allows you to carve out cheekbones with ease. Though it is designed for creams, I found it still worked great with powder formulas. As someone who owns loads of brushes, I can't say I have anything quite like this one, so it is a welcome addition to my collection.

Here is the Ere Perez bronzer applied to my arm with the brush.

Verdict: This box has a retail value of $140.74, which is an awesome return on a $39.95 box. I think this is exactly the sort of box someone who might be on product overload right now could really appreciate. It is minimal, quarterly, and full of high-quality products that also boast being vegan and cruelty-free. The assortment this quarter was subtle, but utterly useful and high-quality. I also like how all the products together form a really pretty natural look for any face. And, hey, any box that sends me more Ere Perez is a winner in my book!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

This is the first box I’ve gotten from Vegan Cuts, and I have to say I was really blown away by the quality and the brands featured. Every product I’ll use and I love how they included some basic, but useful items to create a whole cohesive look. And no ugly colors as you’re able to choose three out of five item’s! And I have to say, their customer service is spot on. I had a little snaffu and Stacy was on it immediately and quickly resolved it. Definitely looking forward to see what’s in the Fall box.

I’m very tempted by this box. That brush looks really nice, and the bronzer might actually be a wearable color for me. I like that you can choose the color for three of the products.
