June 2020 MoonBox “The Nurturer” Review

Every month, MoonBox sends a box guide full of info for keeping up with the stars and moon cycles as well as plenty of rituals to follow.

Moons of Cancer Calendar

This month celebrates Cancer season, the perfect season to get more in touch with your emotions and maybe cry it out if you’re like me and 2020 is working on you spiritually and emotionally. This calendar reveals the moon cycle of Cancer season with a crab, Cancer’s symbol.

Mint, Fairy Wings, Skullcap, Tulsi & Anise Loose Leaf Tea

For ingredients that sound somewhat majestical, this tea tastes rather simple to me, like your everyday green tea. I liked the mellow flavor and was able to make 3 cups with what MoonBox provided.

This tea tasted good hot and chilled over ice.

ZENJENN Healing Bath Soak, 6 oz – Estimated Value $9.38 (Buy 16 oz for $25)

Bath soaks are so relaxing, especially soaks with Epsom salts. This blend has a very intense lavender fragrance, so I was able to mix a little of this with regular Epsom salts for a very pleasant and soothing bath. This soak is great for soothing sore muscles, detoxifying the body, and softening the skin, all while relaxing your mind in a comfortable, warm bath.

ILI Hawaiian Skincare Salt Scrub, 3.5 oz – Retail Value $14

This scrub only contains a few ingredients, and they are all hard-hitting and purposeful. Grapefruit oil helps to fight acne and promote a healthy complexion while hibiscus hydrates and balances the complexion.

I liked the feel of this physical exfoliator, especially for my body; it was a little too harsh for my sensitive facial skin. It left my skin feeling soft and hydrated, and very clean.

Soon Beauty Hydrating Watermelon Lip Mask, two masks – Estimated Value $6.40 (Buy 5 for $16)

Lip masks seemed a little gimmicky to me in the past, but I guess I never found the right one. I loved both wearing this mask (cute, right?) and the plumping and hydrating effects it had. After sitting with this big gel mask on my face for 15 minutes, I was stunned at how moisturizing this mask left my mouth, and I went without lip balm for 2 days after. Wow!

Oh yeah! And MB provided 2 masks!

White grapefruit, Balsam Fir, Geranium, Cedarwood, and Bitter Orange Oil Blend

The most potent notes in this oil blend are balsam fir and bitter orange. It is quite a dark, mysterious, and almost smokey fragrance, especially for summer! This is unmistakably a unisex fragrance, which I prefer in my everyday scents.

Selenite Tower

This impressive crystal works its mind-clearing powers but also looks stunning. I am blown away by the size of this tower; for as long as I’ve been reviewing MoonBox, this is the biggest crystal we’ve seen, yet! Keep them coming!

The Verdict: MoonBox‘s “The Nurturer” Box for June was fantastic! This box was overflowing with awesome self-care products, and I am really impressed with the lips masks and Selenite tower. The value of this box usually just about meets its subscription cost, but this month went above and beyond! If you’re someone who loves astrology and crystals, then this is a great box to treat yourself with when they come back online. More details on that below.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Unfortunately, this review is of the last regular monthly subscription box. Going forward, MoonBox will be releasing special-edition boxes of past favorites before launching a new quarterly subscription in the fall. Get all the details here.

COUPON: Use code GAIAFAMILY to save 15% off your first box!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.00 + $2.75 shipping, which means that each of the 7 items in the box has an average cost of $4.59.

Abby has been a box enthusiast since July 2011, finding her calling with Birchbox. That was the start of a new era for Abby, because she is now hooked on the subscription box life; she loves the idea of receiving (several) thoughtful treats from genius curators such as Lisa Sugar and Rachel Zoe. A few other loves of hers would be her dog named Bill Murray, Bill Murray and chocolate babka.

  1. I have been dying to try this box since it started, but it always falls short of value for me. I really hope moving to quarterly will allow them to flesh out this box to make it feel complete.
I’m interested in the past item boxes they are going to do. I hope they are different mix of items instead of repeat past months box.

  2. Looks like a really great box this month. That crystal, WOW! And the lip mask IS super cute! I am a sucker for any kind of mask, really, and have used several lip masks but not that one. I’ll have to try it sometime.

  3. Cute picture with the lip mask 🙂 I always gift those because I know me, and there’s no way I’d be able to keep my mouth shut for 15-20 minutes… even if I’m by myself. I’m very vocal in my reactions or thoughts, lol.
