FYI - Scentbird recently experienced a security issue. (Thanks for the heads up Mimosa!) Scentbird will require you to reset your password the next time you sign in:

Dear Scentbird Customer,

We are writing to let you know that Scentbird recently learned that unauthorized individuals may have accessed a database containing the personal information of Scentbird’s users. We launched an investigation as soon as we became aware of this incident, and our investigation is in its initial stages. We wanted to notify you right away, however, so that you can take action to protect yourself.

We have no reason to believe that the incident affected social security numbers, government-issued ID numbers, or full credit or debit card numbers. We do not maintain this type of information about users. Depending on the type of account you maintained, the affected information may have included your name, email address, encrypted Scentbird account password, billing and shipping address, date of birth (if you chose to provide this information), and gender.

When you next log in to your Scentbird account, we will require you to reset your password. If you used your email address and Scentbird account password on other online accounts, you should promptly reset those passwords. It is a best practice to use unique, “strong” passwords for all online accounts. You can find tips on creating strong passwords here.

We are retaining an independent forensic firm to assist us in responding to this incident. We are also notifying law enforcement of the incident.

For any questions or issues that arise, the Scentbird customer service team will assist. Please email [email protected] to reach them. Again, we sincerely regret any concern this incident may cause.

Best,
Team Scentbird

Have I Been Pwned. It’s a free service. It alerted me to the Scent Bird breach 18 hours before they did.

Always remember everyone it sucks but even when your account with a company is deleted they still keep your personal information in their databases for some reason. I just received a warning that my information was accessed by hackers through WattPad. I haven’t used that site in ages and had even deleted my account but unfortunately they still accessed my information.

These companies need far harsher penalties for recklessly handling personal information. They need motivation to implement adequate security. Sending an email turning all responsibility over to all customers past and present after our data has been circulating more than an a month is disgraceful

Just FYI, asking them to delete your account or having close your account years ago does not protect you. Your information is still in their database and is hackable. I had closed my account with Morgan Stanley in 2014, and recently received a letter from them saying that my information might have been compromised.

I received this email from Scentbird; but I haven’t subbed to them in 4+ years… Should I even have to do anything?

I was subscribed briefly last year. They say that if you use the same email and password you used on scentbird on other sites, you should immediately change your passwords, but I can’t even remember what my old password was on Scentbird and if you try to log in now it immediately prompts you to set up a new password. So I’m over here like 🤷🏼‍♂️

So tired of comments not posting immediately on this site

Between comments not posting and box info being posted late etc I don’t check msa as often now. I used to email new box available info but Idk that I see the point now.

I don’t either sadly. Used to be first website I would look at each day, but I look at red dit now more. I’m also so annoyed with not getting comment notifications when someone replies. I used to get the emails and now I never do even though I check the box every time. Makes it hard to have conversations on here. Like for fabfitfun I saw all the stuff way sooner on other sites. I miss how quick stuff used to be posted!

I like this subscription, but due to social-distancing I’ve paused it, for now.

I wasn’t notified by scent bird but by an organization that monitors if my personal information has been compromised in data breaches so I’m pissed. Completely irresponsible.

Monica

Which organization do you use?
