Au Sugar Sugar “Let's Get Lost in Paradise” June 2020 Review

This box comes with a sheet that gives you more details about the brand.

It also comes with an info sheet detailing the products included this month.

7 PM in Charleston Bath Frosting, 8 oz - Listed Value $14

The bath frostings from AU Sugar Sugar are one of my favorite subscription box products to receive- they’re my favorite soap, and thanks to this subscription box, I haven’t had to purchase any body wash in a long time. Think of a whipped soap that’s extra fluffy and then a few scattered sugar crystals for gentle exfoliation and you have a bath frosting. 7 pm in Charleston is one of the signature fragrances from the brand, and it has notes of sweet orange, lemon, macadamia nuts, sandalwood, and rosewood. My nose picks up more of the soft, earthy scents rather than the citrus, but it is a comforting scent to me.

Island Glow Body Polish, 4 oz - Listed Value $12.50

This body polish has a luscious texture- the exfoliating crystals are turbinado sugar, and it gives a great exfoliation without being too harsh since it’s formulated with passion fruit, Kukui nut, and coconut oils. The scent has notes of creamy coconut and frosted bananas, and the banana is the keynote here. It actually smells like ripe, fresh banana though, rather than that Laffy Taffy banana smell. I like it, and it pairs incredibly well with the body butter also in this box.

Bronze Butter Whipped Body Butter - Listed Value $9

This body butter smells so good without having a strong fragrance- it leaves a hint of the spiced rum, coconut, pineapple, and ripe bananas on my skin without being something that would compete with the perfume I’m wearing. For a body butter, this had a very light texture that sank into my skin almost instantly with no greasy finish. In terms of its “bronzing” abilities, even though this is made with natural bronze mica I didn’t notice much of a color difference on my skin. I’m not too bothered by that because it left my legs soft in these incredibly humid summer days of south Louisiana without feeling heavy, and maybe if the sun shines on my legs directly I’ll notice more of a shimmer.

Mango Tango Bath Bomb Crumbles - Listed Value $8.50

Anything I get to add to a hot bath I am all about, and these bath crumbles added some color to my day along with the fragrance of mango, tangerine, strawberry, and sweet peach. The scent honestly reminds me of Fruit Stripes gum, and this bag of bath bomb crumbles was the perfect amount for two baths for me.

Sunkissed Goddess Shimmer Salts - Listed Value $7

I love bath salts as much as I love bath bombs, and these Dead Sea salts are fragranced with notes of tonka bean, yuzu, coconut, cocoa, and bergamot. The combination gives me tanning spray vibes in a nostalgic way, and I enjoyed the comforting scent while I soaked my worries away (for twenty minutes, at least).

The Verdict: This month's box was fantastic. All of the scents were really enjoyable, and I felt like the box was packed with self-care goodies. By the listed values, this box adds up to $51, which is a little more than the cost of the box plus shipping. If you sign up hoping for an amazing deal, you probably won’t be happy, but if you’re looking for well-curated bath and body products in unique scents, with creative packaging, and a great mission, I think this is worth checking out.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you still sign up today? No, but sign up today for the August box!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.99 + $8.32 shipping ($43.31), which means each of the 5 items I received has an average cost of $8.66.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Joy-Not the Other One

I need to just pull the trigger on this one. Every single review leaves me feeling like a dummy for not getting that months box. I would have loved this one too! I think I’m definitely in after this one.
