Boxwalla Beauty Box June 2020 Review

It looks like the info card was missing this month, but there are three items inside to explore, so let's dive in!

African Botanics Botanical Hand Cream, 2 oz - Retail Value $55.00

This higher-end brand is one I always look forward to seeing in a box, though it is rare. And right now a $55 hand cream feels over-the-top luxe! This blend of marula, baobab, and Kigelia Africana oils is insanely nourishing and softening, but also quick-absorbing, which surprised me for such a heavy cream. These oils have loads of antioxidants that help with anti-aging, something I always tend to forget I need to think about in regards my hands. Also inside are plant peptides and stem cells which help strengthen your skin barrier long-term and retain hydration. This cream has a tart scent that is utterly unique, but totally addicting.

Pai Skincare's Sea Aster and Wild Oat Instant Calm Redness Serum, 1 fl oz - Retail Value $78.00

Pai is a fave brand of mine, ever since I tried out their incredible Rosehip Facial Oil years ago. I think that might have been the first facial oil I ever tried, actually! Needless to say, it is a brand I trust and enjoy. This serum is made to target and reduce redness, something that my face is always needing help with. This formula is also suitable for eczema and sensitive and reactive skin. Though it looks creamy, it does feel more like a serum, and should be used after cleansing but before a moisturizer. It has a pretty unique scent that is neither good nor bad to my nose, and a little is all you need to cover your face. It absorbs beautifully and with minimal rubbing, and though it doesn't remove all my ruddiness, it visibly helps while moisturizing my skin.

Nini Organics Natura Detox Foam, 100 g - Retail Value $58.00

Our third and final item was the one I was the most excited about! Most days I just want to get my skincare out of the way: cleanse, serum, moisturize, done. But on the weekends I have been savoring the products that take a little extra work and feel more like a ritual, or at least something very special. This green powder is totally going into my weekend stash! This is such an experience.

Inside are powders from dried veggies and coconut which detox very gently. It also has baobab powder for skin strengthening and willow bark for exfoliation. The texture here is slightly gritty, so when you rub in circles on your face it feels like soft exfoliation and a little bit of a massage. My skin feels so clean and refreshed after this.

I probably used a little too much water my first time. It really doesn't take much! But if you happen to find yourself with a little extra, toss it in the fridge. The foam dies down and turns into more of a cream, which you can absolutely use again. You also don't have to mix in a bowl if you would prefer! Simply add some powder to your palm and a few drops of water, and voila! Easy powder shower cleanser.

Verdict: This Boxwalla Beauty box was exceptional! All three products were a hit for me. The hand cream is totally what my poor paws need right now and I love the scent and how the formula improves their texture and appearance. The Pai serum is a godsend for someone like me who struggles with redness. The green foam detox cleanser from Nini Organics was the star of the show, however. I have never used anything like it and I love the ritual and beauty. Boxwalla always has great value, and this month it came to $191, which is awesome for a $50 box. if you are looking for a clean beauty subscription that values quality over quantity, this is a must-have. Be sure to snag a spot in August!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

What is it? Where can you see the spoilers?

This would have been the first Boxwalla box I would have re-subbed to since last year, but sadly it was sold out when I saw the spoilers. That Nini Organics cleanser looks lovely, and that was what made me want to re-sub. Hopefully, that brand will be featured more in future green beauty boxes! 🙂

Oh ya… I also meant to say I noticed that the box no longer says Boxwalla on it. Maybe it’s been like that for a while now, and I just noticed, but it really stood out to me this time.

Luna,
I have this box coming and really only care to keep the Pai, so if you do want the others we can work something out.

Kelly

Looks great I love that cleanser too!
