These are always filled with tons of useful info and great images. This month is all about TEQUILA!
1 of 5 2 of 5 3 of 5 4 of 5 5 of 5 Herb and Lou’s ‘The Cecile’ Cucumber & Watermelon Infused Cubes, 6 count – Retail Value $11.99 I am certainly not a cocktail wiz (you’ll see that a little later on) but I do love a good cocktail! And in the summer there is nothing I want more in a libation that watermelon, cucumber, floral syrups, or some sort of combination of the three. These little frozen cubes are basically perfect for someone like me who wants a great drink but never really manages to make a truly awesome one. Inside each cube is a mix of watermelon, cucumber, sage, and honey. A cocktail is as simple as dipping one into a cup and adding booze. Sign me up! Not imbibing at the moment? I am happy to report they are just as tasty with club soda.
1 of 7 2 of 7 3 of 7 4 of 7 5 of 7 6 of 7 7 of 7 Before we dive into the majorly expensive bottle of tequila, let’s peek inside the included envelope. It is actually a very cool invitation to a brand new boutique hotel tied to the tequila distillery and includes a complimentary one night stay at Casa Salles and a VIP tour and tasting at the El Tequileño distillery! This offer is good until 12/31/2021, so hopefully, once the world of travel goes back to normal some subscribers can take advantage of such a cool offer.
1 of 4 2 of 4 3 of 4 4 of 4 El Tequileño Reposado Rare, 750 ml – Retail Value $225.00 And here is the bottle we have all been waiting for! I am not a tequila expert, but I know what tastes good, and this stuff tastes GOOD. It is a lot more complex than your average tequila, and this is for a few reasons. First, this tequila is aged for 6 years! This is unusual as most never top three. Secondly, it is aged in American Oak pipons, which give it this really delightful woody base that compliments the rest of the profile without overtaking it. It has these wonderfully warm notes of wood, pepper, burnt vanilla, but they still feel light and sweet and perfect for combining with summery flavors.
1 of 7 | A very pretty assortment of supplies indeed. 2 of 7 | Here is the cube open. Yum! 3 of 7 | I started by dropping the ice cube and a slice of lime into my festive cup. 4 of 7 | Then I poured out an arguably very generous shot of tequila. 5 of 7 | I then added it to my cup. 6 of 7 | I topped the cup off with some club soda and stirred. 7 of 7 | And then I added more lime because I love lime. Cheers! This was really delicious and totally hit the spot on one of the first warm days of this year. Verdict: I see you, Robb Vices! This was a great box and truly felt so much like a Robb Vices box! The tequila was awesome and tasty, and the simple compliment of the infused ice cubes was enough to make the box feel complete. The overall value here is $236, which is exactly what I expect from a luxury box and I can’t wait to share this rare bottle with friends in the summer when we start having company over again! To Wrap Up: Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Sign up by the 1st of the month to receive that month’s box. COUPON: Use code LUXURY50 or TURNTABLE to save $50 off your first subscription (LUXURY50) or receive a FREE Altec Lansing ALT-500 Bluetooth Turntable valued at $149 (TURNTABLE.). Value Breakdown: This box costs $144.90 ($129.95 + $14.95 shipping to PA) meaning each of the items has an average cost of $64.98. I love tequila and this one sounds really special. I remember in the spoiler post for this box some of us wondered if there would be other items included. I decided not to purchase, but had I known the full spoilers then, I definitely would have purchased. 😕
The hotel is 4-stars in Mexico. It makes the price of the box, with the tequila and the distillery tour, a very reasonably-priced box. The issue is the cost of travel and the inevitable extra night or two that makes travel comfortable, plus boarding the pups, etc. I think it’s individual if it is a good box or not. Sounds good to me if one can book the travel far enough in advance to get good prices in airfare and another night or two at that hotel or another.
Actually this IS the April box. March has not shipped yet. Customer Service said they cannot get one item still because of what’s going on in the world and they have no idea when they might get it. They will be updating members soon I guess.
Good to know. They should really be more upfront. I don’t think it would be all that difficult so send out an update to members.
Agree. Keeping us informed on shipping delays has always been a huge problem for them.
Where it mentions the booklet there is still some old info there:
“This month our box is full of spicy treats, which is certainly NOT my scene, but Will loves heat! I will be relying on him for some of the insights below.”. I was waiting for something spicy like last month, lol. Those ice cubes do sound refreshing!
Thanks for the catch LunaLee <3
Your pineapple jigger is so cute! 🙂 Must find one 😆❤️
Thank you R! Andy in our photo studio passed them on to me since I keep breaking anything glass in my house. I found them on Amazon for under $20 if you are still searchin! https://www.amazon.com/MAS-PINEG-2-Pineapple-Designer-Accessories-Collection/dp/B0178HERMO
This is not the April box. It’s the March box that’s really late. Neither the April nor May boxes have shipped yet. They’ll be billing for June in a couple days. So back to being paid three months in advance. It wouldn’t be so bad if they’d provide some communication.
I haven’t actually tried anything from this box. I am excited to try the ice cubes…I kind of hope I don’t like them too much since $2 per ice cube is really high.
This exactly.
This is the March box.
Will we ever get back on track?
Those cubes are freaking genius! Love it!
dang! That tequila sounds really good and the mixed drink sounds good too. I’d love to try an expensive liquor like that but I cant justify spending the money on it. And the box is cheaper than the tequila but still super expensive lol
