The Beauty Box by Bombay & Cedar April 2020 Review

The box comes with a booklet of information that lists out the products and highlights some of the brands.

Narangi Marigold Toner by Skinveda, 3.4 oz. - Retail Value $32

This toner smells incredible! It was a lovely fresh scent that really woke me right up. You can use this toner daily to help tighten pores and tone your skin. Plus, it can be used anytime throughout the day to help lock in moisture and give you a fresh little glow. You can either spray a little on a cotton swab and rub all over or spray and let the toner drink into your skin. I have been using this at night and have been loving the way my skin looks! I have noticed just an overall tighter look to my pores and it leaves me feeling clean while still keeping me hydrated which I really love since I have very dry skin (toners typically never work for me since they can be drying).

Hydra-Highlighter Pot by NOTO Botanics, 25 oz. - Retail Value $26.50

I am loving this highlighter and boy does it smell just so good! The great thing about this is that you can use it under your makeup to give your foundation a nice glow, or you can use it on your temples, eyelids, cupids bow, collar bones, shoulders, and legs for that perfect highlight. It is also a great way to add a little shimmer to your lips plus it is extremely hydrating! I have been using it mainly on my lips and am obsessed, but I used it on my eyes the other day for a lighter look and loved it! I can see myself using this a ton in the summer when I have a bit of a glow to my skin and am wearing less makeup. Some ingredients for this highlighter are Olive Fruit Oil, Lavender, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, Vitamin E, Sunflower Seed Oil, Neem Seed Oil, Rosemary Leaf Extract and more!

Pore-fect Primer by Evio Beauty - Listed Value $21, Retail Value $29 (currently out of stock)

If you can believe it, I have never used a primer on my own before. I have used it when I've gotten my makeup professionally done, but its not a product that I keep in my daily makeup bag. While I don't think I will be using this every day, I was really happy with how this made my makeup look and it really lasted way longer than a typical day. I think what I loved the most is that this primer is specifically used to reduce redness, which is great because I have a ton of red undertones in my skin that I typically have to use a lot of foundation to cover. With this primer, I didn't feel as though I needed to use as much. It also works to minimize pores, hydrates, and leaves you with a clean matte finish. I'm so happy to be able to add this product to my routine!

Cream Concealer by Evio Beauty - Listed Value $12, Retail Value $16

I can't say enough good things about this concealer! This has medium coverage, but you can really build with it. I think what I love the most about this concealer is that it is super creamy so I feel this amazing hydration while being left with a dewy glow. I love having glowing skin and if my makeup can give me that then I am here for it! I have been using this mainly under my eyes and in other small areas where I have a lot of redness and it does an incredible job covering without feeling heavy and cakey. This is most likely going to become my go-to concealer throughout the summer when I need a lot less makeup and coverage. I am seriously blown away by how much I love this product!

Lip Creme in Devi by Cupid & Psyche Beauty - Listed Value $28, Retail Value $23

While I am not obsessed with the color I received, I am more into it than I thought I would be. It is very very light so I had to put a lot on to get the color that you see in the photo. This is made with natural oils and plant waxes making it cruelty-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, vegan, and bee-friendly! For me, I was absolutely blown away by how intensely hydrating this lip creme was. So even though the color is not one I typically wear, I absolutely loved the way it made my lips feel! I am thinking this might be a color that I like a bit more too when I have a little sunkissed glow to me.

Concealer Brush by Offa Beauty - Listed Value $5

I have been using this brush with my concealer and have been really liking how nicely it spreads the makeup. It is especially good to use in those small creases like around my nose. The bristles are soft and it seems to be holding up nicely after using every day so far since receiving this box. Nothing too crazy with this one, but it is always nice to receive new brushes to add to my collection.

Verdict: The Beauty Box by Bombay & Cedar was amazing this month! I really loved the curation and felt that each of the products were thoughtfully selected. I was able to get products to help keep my skin healthy, buildable makeup to create a glowing base for my full makeup looks, a great highlighter that can be used in so many different ways, and a fun lip creme that I wouldn't have bought for myself. This truly felt like a beauty box that left me feeling pampered and with some incredible new favorite makeup items! I mean, that concealer alone has been a game-changer for me! I calculated an estimated retail value around $131.50, and at $31.95 a month for this box, I would say that is an incredible deal. This is the perfect box for a beauty product lover to gift to themselves or to send to a friend that could use a little self-love and pampering right about now!

Has anyone received their April Lifestyle box yet?

I have not received April, but I just received mine for May.

I wasn’t impressed with the concealer. I don’t know if there was something wrong with mine or if the texture just didn’t bother you, but it was very thick and hard to blend for me. I have had a similar concealer from Aveda before that was much runnier and easier to spread. I dabbed this one under my eyes and then attempted to blend with my fingers. But I had to really push and pull a ton to get it spread out. It wasn’t pleasant. Did yours seem thick?

Mine isn’t runny but I don’t think I would describe it as being super thick. I feel that I am able to apply and spread it to blend very nicely.

This review convinced me to sign up for this box! I love the look of every item and the price feels right to me. I know I won’t be able to get these exact items, but if June’s box is good too I will keep being subscribed!

This looks great! Definitely going to be dropping IPSY GBP or BC base, BCP, or BCL, or a mixture or all of them completely and just stick to this one. Love that they are introducing some new names and items that perform well!

I agree, I like the concealer.I got a very pretty pink lipstick that isn’t too drying. (I have chronic dry lips). I cancelled my sub because I have too much stuff. But it was good while it lasted.
