Vegancuts Makeup Box "Festival Chic" Spring 2020 Review

Pacifica Beachy Punk Eyeshadow Palette - Retail Value $18.00 (currently on sale for $12.60)

I am really feeling these colors! That green, in particular, reminds me of the Glossier 'Lawn' Skywash shade I have been lusting after. This will be a nice trial before I splurge on that. The formulas here are very soft and smooth. The shimmers are easier to apply than the mattes, but a little extra play makes those blossom into a smoky finish that is really beautiful. I felt a little let down with how sheer the electric purple 'Raw Power' shade is, but on my lids, I actually appreciate this because the effect is still there, but the wash look makes it much more wearable. I also love that grey-blue 'Heroes' shade because it applies in such a haze.

Top to bottom: Tomboy, Starman, Heroes, Rebel, Pretty Vacant

Top to bottom: Schooled, 1970, Casbah, Blondie, Raw Power

CLE Cosmetics Melting Lip Powder in 'Desert Rose', 2 g - Retail Value $20.00

I wanted to love this stuff so badly, but I just don't. Basically, this tube is filled with loose powder that turns into liquid upon contact with your lips and feels cold. The color is amazing, a rich berry red. The formula is a little bit of a mess in terms of application. I had powder fallout each time I tried to use it and when I went to brush these spots away they liquified and smeared. The finish itself was also a weird dry but also tacky texture and I had trouble getting decent coverage.

It is such a gorgeous color, but I am just not sold on the formula and application.

Au Naturale The Anywhere Creme Multistick in 'Blossom', 9 ml - Retail Value $35.00

I love a good multistick, and this is a good one! The shade is a soft cool pink with a soft pearly shimmer. I liked it on my lips, cheeks, and even lids. It is super dense and creamy, blending with very little effort. With a light touch it is sheer, but add a little pressure and it turns opaque in terms of coverage.

What a great pink!

Skin Owl Body+ Amethyst Crystal Oil, 2 fl oz - Retail Value $40.00

Our final item is a larger bottle of shimmering purple body oil. The effect is really lovely on the skin, giving it a barely-there sheen than enhances my skin tone and overall texture. The oils inside the US-made formula include safflower, apricot kernel, sweet almond, jojoba, and more, so your skin is getting lots of moisture. I do wish this oil had some sort of scent but I can always add a drop of my fave essential oil blend to customize it.

Verdict: This box has a retail value of $113 which is pretty good for a $39.95 box. I wasn't crazy about all the items included this month, but I did love the palette and multistick, which together make up $53 of the total value, so I still came out ahead. I thought the oil was ok, and I didn't really like the lip powder, which was kind of a bummer since I normally like weird formulas. I still think this is a really fun quarterly box for people looking to add more vegan and cruelty-free products to their beauty routine!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Pacifica palettes always seem very well put together for me in terms of shade, but I can never get any color payoff from them. It’s frustrating cause I really like the brand otherwise! Their Blood Orange scent is one of my favorite fragrances.

The shimmer oil is not something I would ever use, but I think if I owned that bottle, I would just hold it & stare at it, lol. It’s so pretty!

This is a nice mix, but I must have had sub boxes for too long because I’ve gotten 2 of these before. The CLE lip was in Allure and so was the Au Naturale.

This multistick is a different color than received in Allure. The Allure box Au Naturale was in Grapefruit. I think everyone received the same color; at least that’s how it was supposed to be. This one says the color is Blossom.

Love that purple oil! Could we please see a swatch on skin? Also, Megan, are you going to be doing a review of the most recent Earthlove box? I got mine a few weeks ago & love it 🙂 Just like to see your thoughts on it too.

This box looks nice, but I feel like it’s missing an item or two? Don’t these boxes usually have 5 or 6 items? I’d be tempted if it goes on sale!

I think since they always include full size products in this makeup box, they usually only include 4 items. Their monthly box does usually contain 5 to 6 items, but they usually include mostly deluxe samples… with smaller sized full size items thrown in like chapsticks/lipsticks/lip glosses or eye/lip liners, among other things.

I’m tempted!
