Stitch Fix Kids April 2020 Review

FYI, while there didn’t seem to be a delay on this box, we did receive this email from StitchFix:

We noticed that you recently scheduled a Fix with us. We’re so excited to help you find something you love, however, we wanted to let you know that we are experiencing delays in our fulfillment center right now. We are working to get these delays reduced but unfortunately, your Fix will be arriving later than originally scheduled.

We truly appreciate your patience as we navigate this situation during these times and sincerely apologize for the delay. If receiving a Fix at a later date is not convenient for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]stitchfix.com and we’d be happy to help you out. We look forward to being a part of your closet!

In our Stitch Fix Kids delivery, we received this cute sticker sheet. They also provide an envelope with a prepaid shipping label for easy returns and exchanges.

This is the invoice that was sent in the Fix. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $191, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $123.25. That’s a savings of $67.75 on this Fix!

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist, Anna, who does a great job of sending cute and stylish outfits perfect for Liv!

Rose Gold Kickstart Sneakers by Keds, Size 1Y – Cost to Keep $35.00

Keds are already pretty cute, but this rose gold color makes them even cuter! My daughter loved the shimmery gold and I loved the texture of them which I think will help minimize any dirt. These will be cute with just about any outfit, too! I actually found that these only cost $32.95 on the Keds site, so it looks like they’ve marked these up a bit.

These shoes fit her lengthwise, but since they run narrow and her feet are very wide, she didn’t find these to be comfortable.

Braelynn Ruffle Detail Skater Dress by Bailey Lane, Size S – Cost to Keep $24.00

The colors in this dress are perfect for spring! Liv and I both loved this dress and the pretty floral pattern, and the flutter sleeves were a nice accent. It also had pockets, which is fun, but unfortunately, I felt like it was a bit too short for her frame. I thought about sizing up, but the armpits most likely would have been too big on her in the next size up.

Alyssa Drop Waist Dress by RUMI + RYDER, Size S – Cost to Keep $24.00

While the last dress didn’t work out, this one was a perfect fit. This dress is so cute with the multicolored hearts standing out against the dark navy background. I love that it is nice and long I think it will last her well into the fall, too when paired with leggings and a sweater!

The Basic Legging by RUMI + RYDER, Size S – Cost to Keep $12.00

These leggings are another item that screams spring to me with their beautiful pastel flowers. These fit her perfectly and they paired so well with the next top.

Moira Ruffle Sleeve Tee by Crown of Hearts, Size S – Cost to Keep $14.00

This ruffle sleeve top matches the pink in the leggings perfectly. What a cute outfit for a little girl! I love the ruffle sleeves and thought this was such a great spring look that was both cute and comfortable which made both mom and daughter happy.

Huggie Knit Legging by Cotton On, Size 7 – Cost to Keep $12.00

These leggings look black to me, but they are listed as navy. They have cute little metallic gold dots all over which adds a little bit of sparkle to the stripes. They were a bit baggy, but the fit was pretty good overall

Eva Graphic Swing Tee by Love Glam Girl, Size S – Cost to Keep $14.00

A swing tee is always fun and this one has a cute dance phrase on the front with some shiny gradient letters. This shirt was super soft and comfortable. While the phrase is cute, it’s not really our style.

Violeta Cuffed Denim Shorts by Revery Kids, Size 7 – Cost to Keep $18.00

It’s almost shorts season! These dark denim shorts are cute with their rolled up cuffs and they are actually big kid jeans and don’t have the adjustable waistband in them that I’m used to. Even without the adjustable waistband, they seemed to fit her waist perfectly. She still claimed these were uncomfortable, but she has a real aversion to denim these days. They seemed to be just fine in my opinion.

Astra Applique Tee by Joules, Size 7 – Cost to Keep $20.00

This sequin unicorn tee is cute and perfect for a little girl! The sequins are reversible so they are pink one direction and silver in the other. She loved this shirt and it was a little bit oversized so I could see it lasting her awhile. She liked this one a lot, while I think we’ve seen some cuter shirts in previous Fixes, especially considering this higher price point.

Byanka Flutter Sleeve Top by Chenault Girl, Size 7 – Cost to Keep $18.00

This top is so cute! I love the florals and the ruffles and the nicer material looks so good with the denim. This top fit her pretty well and was flowy and comfortable. I also thought the quality was nice.

The Verdict: I loved the great spring vibe from this month’s Stitch Fix Kids selections that my daughter’s stylist Anna sent. The clothing fit Liv’s style for the most part and there were minimal sizing issues this month, too. As always it was so nice having everything delivered to our door for her to try on and then send back what she didn’t like for free. This service could not be more convenient at the moment! We always enjoy this service and the cute clothes they send, but I am especially appreciative of it this month when leisurely shopping in stores isn’t an option.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this Fix if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what we got, but you could get something that fits your child’s style and size even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $191.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $123.25. That’s a discount of around 36% for these items!

  1. Hands down, Stitch Fix for Kids is the best! The quality is so much better than I’ve seen with other boxes. Sometimes the prices are a little higher, but it’s really worth it in the end.

  2. I don’t have kids but I love coming to these reviews to see what fun and cute new clothes your daughter is getting! I would totally rock that hearts dress if it came in my size, I’m not ashamed to say. A note on the Keds – I know you’re not keeping but in the future, they will price match if you find them cheaper in the exact same size and color elsewhere.

It also seems like you have found hair products that work for your daughter (I know you were struggling for a while) because her ringlets have been beautiful the past few reviews. 🙂

    • Thanks, Gabbi! ☺️ I totally forgot about the price match! It didn’t occur to me since they weren’t a good fit for her feet!

And thanks for the comments on her curls! I think the new shampoo we’re trying is definitely helping! She’ll be happy to hear your comments! 😊

  3. Such cute clothes and your daughter is adorable! I loved that first dress and, if you do think it’s too short, I highly recommend coordinating bike shorts underneath. They can make any dress a cartwheel and hang upside down dress!

I recall the “I hate jeans, Mom!” phase with my son. It seemed like he spent a couple of years in nothing but elastic waists. Luckily, that passes with time.

    Fun review!

    • Thanks, Maddie in PA! 🙂 Great tip on the bike shorts – we definitely need them since she’s so active! Lol. Hopefully her no jeans phase won’t last forever. Although I can’t blame her since I have been living in my leggings these past few weeks! 😆

  4. All the clothes are super cute and they seem pretty affordable.

  5. Hey! I love your reviews and our style for our girls is similar. Do you like stichfix or fab kids better? Which is more affordable?

    • Hi Zenna! That’s such a tough one! I think StitchFix’s clothing quality is a little better in general, but FabKids is more affordable when you can score things on sale! It’s fun to see what StitchFix will send, but it may take awhile for them to get your style right whereas with FabKids you get to pick your items. If you can get a free StitchFix for your daughter, I would definitely try it out and see what you think since there is no obligation to keep anything! I hope that was somewhat helpful and not too confusing! Lol

      • No. Thank you! I thought the prices for stitch fix were reasonable. I didn’t realize that you chose for fab kids. The quality is important. I’m going to try a free one when it’s offered. Thanks!
