Pet Treater Cat Pack March 2020 Review

I used to find the dog version of Pet Treater a little bit random but the cat version (maybe because it is smaller) is often a little more focused:

There’s not a traditional information card with this subscription, but you get a couple of inserts including a humorous sticker (except my sticker was missing this month).

Kitty Connection Swing Ball - Retail Value $15.99

You can see this outside the box down below in the cat pictures. It is a treat puzzle and also a motorized toy. It requires batteries, which are not included, but it *does* come with a little screwdriver to open the battery compartment so you don't have to find one, which is a nice touch. My cats don't care about the motion so much, but Madison was able to figure out the treat dispensing part (he is usually the only one that understands these sorts of toys).

From the Field Ultimate Blend Sample (Silvervine and Catnip) - Buy 2 oz for $7.99

This is just a sample size, definitely lower than 2 oz, although I'm not sure of the exact weight. Anyway, my cats love From the Field products. They seem to have very strong catnip, and of course this also has silvervine, another cat attractant that can work on cats for whom catnip is not a big deal. (Some cats, like Madison, like both!) This is a good size for refreshing a scratch pad or two and I know the kitties like it because we received this same sample in another box this month.

Cat Life Calico Bee and Fly (Assorted, 1 count)

So my search for this item turned up my April 2019 review of the Pet Treater Cat Pack, wherein I noted that I had received this toy from Pet Treater before. So I guess this is at least the third time I've gotten this? This is a little bit noisy so I've opted to keep it outside the bedroom. (I keep a lot of noisy and light-up toys in our home office, where Monkey hangs out during the morning sometimes.) It has several different textures, which is something my cats seem to like in catnip plushes.

Kerchief

This is a custom Pet Treater item; they've been including kerchiefs most months. While it is nice to receive one with finished edges (will last longer) this is quite large for a cat and I don't really know anyone who puts a kerchief on a cat (although I did find some not-so-willing models...).

Loving Pets It's Purely Natural Freeze Dried Shrimp (0.5 oz) - Retail Value $6.27

Madison and Sneaky liked the smell of this a lot (it stinks) but neither actually wanted to eat these. The product description on Amazon says these are "soft and easy to chew" but really they are hard little things. So the treat wasn't really a win this month.

Gratuitous cat photos ahead:

Verdict: I was unable to calculate a total value for the March Pet Treater Cat Pack since I had trouble finding some of the items online. There were five items so each has an average value of about $3. This was an OK month. Madison did like the swing ball toy and the silvervine/catnip sample was appreciated. The other toy is a multi-time repeat so I guess the folks at Pet Treater bought a lot of those and are still trying to offload them. I would personally love to see a costume, even a cheap one that's just a hat or something, as opposed to a kerchief, but maybe that's just me.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first pack will ship immediately filled with the most popular fan favorites. Also, there may be some variation among boxes sent during the same month.

Value Breakdown: At $15 per month for this subscription, you are paying approximately $3 per item.
