Wicked Good Perfume "Botanical Gardens" Review March 2020

A few things to note about these fragrances:

  • They are formulated without phthalates, parabens, or petroleum
  • These are vegan and cruelty-free and they use sustainable ingredients that are responsibly sourced
  • I am not a huge perfume lover because they usually give me headaches, but these unique, handcrafted fragrances do not!

This month's theme is "Botanical Gardens" and the scents are full of beautiful floral notes. On one side this card lists the products, the scents they contain and their retail value, while the back has some information about their box review contest.

Jasmine Vetiver Solid Lotion Bar, 2 oz. - Listed Value $16.00

The first item is a solid lotion bar and I love that it comes in a cute little container instead of being a bar that sits out like others I have seen. It's a small bar, but just a bit offers a lot of hydration for dry areas. It is a tad greasy going on, but since I've been using this at night before bed, I don't mind it since it absorbs as I sleep. This lotion bar would be perfect for elbows and knees. The scent is jasmine vetiver and has orange blossom, cocoa butter, shea butter and sunflower in it, but overall, this one is actually very light - so much so that I can barely smell anything and I really only pick up on a little note of the sunflower with maybe a hint of jasmine.

Blackberry Violet Lotion Spray, 4 oz. - Listed Value $15.00

While the first lotion was a bit underwhelming in scent, this one is packed full of fruity blackberry goodness. I love how fresh this one is and the formula is great, too. This one is much more liquidy than typical lotion (see below), but it rubs in so smoothly and is such a light application that I can apply it any time of day. The scent is a mix of luscious blackberry fruit, violet leaves, jasmine, and vanilla sugar. While the blackberry is strong to start, the finish is mostly vanilla sugar.

Here you can see the thin consistency.

Rosehip Lily Perfume Oil Roller, 10 ml - Listed Value $18.00

This month's roller is a blend of blood orange, pineapple, white lily, and rosehip tea. I found it to be bright, fruity, and floral. It's just an incredibly cheery scent that's perfect for spring.  It fades to a powdery fresh scent and is not too overwhelming, as is usual with the rollers. This one lasts a few hours before I need to re-apply, but the roller bottle makes it convenient to take on the go.

Bergamot Blossom Perfume Spray, 1 oz. - Listed Value $29.00

Our perfume spray this month is such a complex scent with bergamot, petitgrain, nectarine, water lily, oakmoss, cedar, and cypress. It's a very sweet mix that is both citrusy and piney, but then it has this super refreshing undertone that is reminiscent of mint. There is also a musky note that I can't place in there somewhere, too. This one is a stronger scent and at first, I was afraid it would be too bold for me, but it definitely faded some after a minute and became a scent I really enjoyed.

Verdict: Botanical Gardens was a great March theme from Wicked Good Perfume with its vibrant mix of fruits and florals. The lotion spray is probably my favorite item this month, but that roller bottle is a close second. These fresh, fruity scents are so bright and I am loving them! This subscription is so much fun with two of the products being a complete surprise each month. The scents are always amazing - unique and so fresh. This was another great box for $25.00 (including free shipping)!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

This really does sound like a sub I would enjoy. I love perfume but I do wind up with headaches from a lot of scents and thanks to your thorough review I now know that is something I most likely won’t have to worry about. This particular months scents sound
so lovely. Hopefully I can subscribe in the near future.

I’ve been on the fence about this one since you started reviewing it. I finally subscribed. As of 3/28, their site says they are open and shipping orders. Subscribe by 3/31 to get the March box from this review. Fingers crossed. I love your descriptions, Brandi.

Did the coupon code work for you? It says coupon not active for me.

I’m sorry for the confusion! It looks like that coupon is no longer available. 😞 Hopefully we will be able to replace it with another one soon!

Checking into this right now for you!

Tiffany

It didn’t work for me either.

Dani

Thanks for that info, Tiffany! I definitely don’t need any perfume right now but I find this box so intriguing and tempting. I keep all my fragrance sprays, roll-ons, etc. in my refrigerator to preserve the original scent longer (which really does work.) Currently one of my refrigerator drawers is packed full so I really shouldn’t keep indulging this addiction. But… I am trying to switch over to cleaner beauty and household products so maybe I can use that as my justification. Up until now I’ve enjoyed reading the reviews but been able to resist subscribing but the products and scent descriptions in this review just sound too amazing to pass up. I was disappointed when I thought it was too late but you’ve brightened my day with the good news!

And Brandi, you deserve credit too for the excellent, thorough review. Just like all of your reviews!
