Lip Monthly February 2020 Review

Each month, Lip Monthly sends their products in a little soft fabric makeup bag which is just a bit bigger than an iPhone Plus (although not quite big enough to fit one inside). This is a cute bag, perfect for a subscription for lip products!

Manna Kadar Lippie Love Lip Scrub – Retail Value $24.00

This lip scrub comes from Manna Kadar, who is no stranger to subscription boxes, but is a new product for me. I love that this comes in a tube making it easy to apply. The scrub is super gentle with small particles for exfoliation and it almost feels like a lip gloss when you apply it because it is so smooth (although I think it does get a bit more coarse further down the tube). I almost forgot to wipe it off! It left my lips feeling super soft and fairly hydrated.

ModelCo Hydrating Lip Oil – Retail Value $6.95 ($12 AUD)

This lip oil feels just like a lip oil should – it glides on smoothly and is moisturizing. It provides a great shine that enhances your natural lip color. I like the cute, smaller tube which is great for throwing in a clutch!

Here you can see the shine it provides.

Bellapierre Super Gloss in Runway- Retail Value $18.00 (currently on sale for $9)

This lip gloss glides on smoothly and is not super glossy in my opinion, but instead, the metallics stand out a bit more than any real shine. I didn’t find it to be very moisturizing or to have great staying power, but it did wear down pretty evenly and was comfortable to wear. I feel like it had a slight bubblegum scent to it, but that really could be in my head?

Here it is on. While the formula wasn’t anything amazing, I really liked the color!

Be A Bombshell Lipstick in Viva – Retail Value $12.00

This matte lipstick is a nice vibrant pink. It’s a fun color, and while it’s not going to be an everyday lipstick for me, I think it will be a great statement lipstick that won’t be too wild! I thought the formula was good and the pigment was very buildable.

Here it is on. Very bright!

Here it is with the swipe of the ModelCo lip oil over it which really makes it pop!

Here I tried it with the Bellapierre gloss on top. I thought it toned down the brightness well!

Swatched from top to bottom we have the ModelCo, Bellapierre gloss, and Be A Bombshell lipstick.

Verdict: This month’s Lip Monthly bag had a lot of really useful items. The lip scrub and lip oil are great items as we are ending winter and coming into spring to get my lips into great shape. While the lipstick was a bit bright, I still liked the color and the Bellapierre gloss was such a pretty color. The total retail value of our products comes to $60.95 which is great for a $12.95/month subscription!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, if you sign up now, you’ll get the April box as your first box.

COUPON: Use code 25OFF to save 25% off your first box!

Value Breakdown: This subscription costs $12.95 and we received a total value of $60.95 so here is what you are paying approximately for each item:

  • Manna Kadar: $5.10
  • ModelCo: $1.48
  • Bellapierre: $3.82
  • Be A Bombshell: $2.55

Alternatively, at $12.95 for this box, each of the four products has an average cost of $3.24.

  1. I like the products that this subscription offers, but customer service is terrible. They charged me for a bag After canceled, messaged several times was ignored, never answered. They finally shipped bag. It is March bag will not receive until April 6 th.
I really think if they would step up, they could do well.

  2. That Bellapierre gloss looks gorgeous on you!

    • Thank you, Charlotte! ☺️

    • Those cheekbones don’t hurt either.

Damn! Cheekbones McGillicutty. Great review. I love all things lipcare/gloss/color and had no idea this box existed until now. I’m seriously considering signing up.

Will my cheekbones look like Brandi’s if I use their lip products? ; )

      • 🤣🤣 Thanks, Errmmmmm! If you love lip products then you would probably like this sub! 🙂

  3. when was the last time this sub offered 5 items? it’s always being advertised as 4-5 items, but i haven’t seen 5 in a long while.

    • They have 5 items pictured on their site, but it looks like they’ve updated it to just 4 products, which is what I’ve always received. Thanks for catching that, jenn! I’ll make sure to change that for future reviews!
