JoahBox includes a small booklet that goes over each item, the retail value, and how to use it. Best to keep this on hand just in case the packaging doesn’t have instructions in English!
D’Alba Piedmont Waterfull Sleeping Pack, pack of 12 – Listed Value $24.00
I can see why these say “do not eat” all over them because they remind me of single-serving packets of sugar, matcha powder, or something else you’d add to a beverage. They are, however, single-use “sleeping packs.” After I finish my whole evening skincare routine, I just open one of these and use my fingers to tap the contents into my face. It is basically the same as the serum leftover from a sheet mask or something similar. These aim to be absorbed into my skin all night to “relieve skin fatigue” and “replenish vitality energy.” I found that just one packet has more than enough for one use, so if you want to make this stretch, you can save the rest for the next night. In the morning, although I didn’t feel it on my face at all, I rinsed it off and my face felt incredibly soft and moisturized.
Gustar Piel Sana Proteccion UV – Listed Value $25.00
Although I KNOW I need to wear sunscreen every day, I am still bad at it. This triple function cream has an SPF of 50 and will brighten skin and help prevent wrinkles. Protecting your skin from the sun is the most important thing you can do to look younger and prevent serious skin issues. I love that this tube has a spot on the bottom to write in the day it was opened. All beauty products have a shelf life listed but do you think I remember when I actually opened them? This way, I wrote the date on it so I know when it will stop performing as it should. The cream is white when dispensed but eventually seeps into the skin without leaving any traces behind (including a greasy feeling). It’s also super hydrating!
Red Cookies Brownie Velvet Lip Tint in ChocChoc Berry – Listed Value $14.00
Ooh, I love this liquid lipstick! I received a nice bold red out of three variations. It sort of feels like spreading frosting onto my lips which I have to say is really fun. So soft and velvety, this is a little cakey when you first get it out of the tube but after a few moments of spreading it over my lips, it smooths out nicely and feels incredibly moisturizing. The pigment is powerful and it stays feeling soft for hours without drying out or getting flakey. A big win!
Merbliss My Number One Liquid Pigment in Highlighter 03 – Listed Value $9.00
This highlighter has such a beautiful soft pearlescent pink finish. While I sometimes struggle with liquid highlighters, this one doesn’t feel too dewy that it will wipe off my foundation underneath and actually has a powdery finish to it. It’s easy to control since you can keep piling it on for a bolder look but you can keep it minimal if you want a subtle glow.
Merbliss My Number One Liquid Pigment in Coral Cheek 02 – Listed Value $9.00
I love liquid and cream blushes! This coral color is perfect for me (there are three total variations) and I’m glad I received it. The liquid cream is nicely pigmented and it’s easy to buff out or build upon for the right amount of color. Although this one is called coral, I see it as a perfect dusty rose shade. Like the highlighter, it turns into a powder once it’s spread out and stays all day long. My new go-to for cheeks!
Here are swatches for the highlighter, blush, and liquid lipstick.
Verdict: I am so sad to see JoahBox go. This box has three makeup items and two skincare items that were all fun to discover from K-Beauty brands that are new to me. The cheek tint is awesome I’ll definitely be putting the sunscreen to use daily. I’m also impressed with how soft the liquid lip is. Le sigh. One more delivery from JoahBox and they’ll be gone.
