Stitch Fix Kids Boys Styling Service January 2020 Review

In every Stitch Fix Kids Fix, they include a pre-paid shipping envelope for returns.

I think it is cute that the information sheet has a maze on it for your kid, plus a sheet of stickers!

Here's the item list of the clothing they selected for my son, and their individual prices. The items total $168 but with my $20 styling fee applied, and the keep-everything 25% off discount, the total adds up to be $148.00.

The reverse of that card shows photos of each item (which I love because it makes it easy to reference the pricing sheet).

Kameron Color Block Active Velcro Sneakers by Dr. Scholl's, size 11 - Cost to Keep $26

These shoes are great! The soles have some memory foam and sweat-wicking technology to help keep your kid's feet cool. I think they look sharp and they fit him well. I'll be keeping these!

Willie Pullover V Neck Sweater by Beetle & Thread, size 5 - Cost to Keep $24

I love the style of this sweater, but unfortunately I think it is just a bit short on him. The knit fabric is nice and soft, but it will be going back.

Shakib Stretch Twill Jogger by Lazer, size 5 - Cost to Keep $22

These joggers fit him really well! I love the stretchy, khaki twill. They're great for dressing up an outfit a little but comfy enough to play anytime too.

Jett Long Sleeve Reversible Button-Up Shirt by Tailor Vintage, size 5 - Cost to Keep $26

This plaid button-up is reversible, with a gingham-style print on the inside in the same colors. I like the fit on Gideon but there's something about the fabric I just didn't care for. It's very soft but seemed like it would hold onto wrinkles, or maybe something about the layers of fabric used to make it reversible makes it look bumpy. It's cute, but I don't think I'd reach for it to dress him often.

Junior Colorblock Marled Long Sleeve Raglan Tee by Brooklyn Cloth, size 5 - Cost to Keep $16

I wish you could feel how light and soft this fabric is! It's very stretchy, too. This is a great pick for Gideon because he prefers long sleeves (as opposed to a tee beneath a sweater layer he can easily remove) but he often gets hot and sweaty running around in preschool. This fabric is soft and breathable and I think it will be really comfortable for him.

Classic Short Sleeve Graphic Tee by RUMI + RYDER, XS - Cost to Keep $18

The design of this graphic tee is styled exclusively for Stitch Fix. We love all things space over here, and the print glows in the dark! The fit is just right, and long enough for my tall kid.

Arturo Slim Straight Knit Pull On Denim Pant by Flapdoodles, size 5 - Cost to Keep $24

Flapdoodles is a brand I've grown to really like thanks to Stitch Fix. These black pull-on jeans are soft and fit great. The similar pairs of pants we've kept from Flapdoodles before have washed and held up really well. I'm happy to keep these to add a black pair to his wardrobe.

Star Wars Short Sleeve Graphic Tee, size 5 - Cost to Keep $14

We love Star Wars! But this tee just obviously was too big. He's teetering between toddler and big boy clothes so some 5T fits and some 5s and some XS/S items do too, so we run into this pretty often at the moment. I think this tee just ran a bit big. Not right for him for now - it's going back.

Star Wars Short Sleeve Graphic Tee, 5T - Cost to Keep $14

This Star Wars tee is also a little big but barely. It's one he can wear now that will last him a while and he can grow into a bit. Cute!

NASA Short Sleeve Graphic Tee by Hyper Space, size 5 - Cost to Keep $14

I love this shade of blue. The fit was wonky here, too, though. The shoulder seams fell past his shoulders, and the neckline was pretty wide. Cool tee, but it's going back.

The Verdict: This month's Fix from Stitch Fix Kids for Gideon was pretty good! This is the first time I've had this many pieces in one Fix that didn't fit right, and I think part of that is the fact that he's teetering between toddler and big kid sizes. Overall, I love the quality of items Stitch Fix sends; the pieces we've kept over the months have held up very well. I think the prices are pretty reasonable for such quality, too. It's nice that they send so many items in each Fix - even if you just want to pick one item so you don't lose out on your styling fee, it's not hard to find at least one thing you really love without spending much more than you already have with your fee, so you never lose out on that. I really wanted to keep just about everything this month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this Fix if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. You might get the same item or two if you also get clothing for a toddler boy, but you could get something that fits your child's style and size even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This styling service costs $20 (styling fee) with free shipping and returns. The total value of the items inside this month is $198 according to Stitch Fix's invoice sheet. The invoice lists the cost of each individual item, and if I were to keep all of them then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep and, in this case, it would bring the total down to $128 if I kept everything. That's a total discount of about 36%.

Great review! Great model, too! The prices seem reasonable, especially if you love everything and get the discount. It’s a good mix of items, some dressier and some more casual, and I loved the shoes! I’d be tempted to keep it all this month!
