Sephora Favorites: Haute Hydrators Kit Review

I love that the packaging on this is sustainable!

belif the true cream aqua bomb, 0.33 oz – Estimated Value $8.88 (Buy the 0.84 oz version for $22)

This is a lightweight moisturizer made with uncommon herbs like Lady’s Mantle and oat husk to give your skin a boost of antioxidants, but it is also made with denatured alcohol that can actually dry out your skin over time or cause sensitivity. Intermittent use of this hasn’t caused issues for me, but I still choose to play it on the safe side and not make this my regular moisturizer. This may be a decent moisturizer for those with oily skin, but my dry, sensitive skin will pass.

First Aid Beauty® Ultra Repair® Cream, 2 oz – Retail Value $14

This thick cream is made with colloidal oatmeal, ceramides, shea butter, and allantoin. This is way too heavy for me to use on my face, but it is great for the rest of my body when dealing with mild irritants (I used this on my knees after getting razor burn, and I was happy with the performance). I also know people with eczema or psoriasis who will use this all over, including on their face, and it is a holy grail product for them. A little bit of this goes a long way, and this truly is a multi-purpose healing cream.

fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Moisturizer, 0.23 oz - Estimated Value $5.75 (Buy the 1.6 oz version for $48)

If you made me go into Sephora and told me I had to walk out with only one morning moisturizer that I could use going forward, it probably would be this one. It has the perfect balance of being lightweight while still giving my skin plenty of moisture, and it has a light cucumber scent that I find completely lovely. Since getting this kit, I have already completely emptied this sample- no half-used skincare graveyard for this one.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask, 0.30 oz – Estimated Value $6.60 (Buy the 1 oz version for $22)

I really like this sleeping mask, though it’s more of a summer product for me than winter. This has a gentle blend of chemical exfoliants from fruit acids and alpha hydroxy acids, and you apply it as the last step in your evening skincare routine. This really does give me more of a glow when I wake up after using it, and I enjoy the watermelon scent.

HUM® Nutrition Glow Sweet Glow Skin Hydration, 2 gummies - Estimated Value $1.43 (Buy 14 gummies for $10)

These gummies have hyaluronic acid and vitamin C to help hydrate skin, and they have a pleasant orange flavor. It would take 4-6 weeks of consistent use to really see if these make a difference, so this sample is really just to see if you enjoy the taste before committing to the full size.

La Mer The Treatment Lotion, 0.17 oz - Estimated Value $5.50 (Buy the 3.4 oz version for $110)

Out of all the La Mer products I have sampled, this is the one I like the most! I still would never pay full price, but this toner is made with seaweed and yeast extract to hydrate and soften your skin. I think this did exactly that, and I enjoyed using it.

Skinfix® Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser, 1 oz - Estimated Value $4.67 (Buy the 6 oz version for $28)

Skinfix is a brand I’ve been seeing a lot of on Instagram, so this cleanser was a welcome addition to the box. This was a really nourishing cleanser that didn’t dry my skin out, and it was gentle on my sensitive skin, too.

Youth To The People Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream, 0.25 oz – Estimated Value $7.25 (Buy the 2 oz version for $58)

I have a deep love for YTTP even though I have only tried a few of their products, and since my skin loves adaptogens I was so ready to dive into this and get those stress-fighting benefits. The formula is nourishing without being too heavy, and it layered well under sunscreen when I used it in the morning while keeping my dry skin happy all day. It was also nourishing enough to use at night, and mixing it with the YTTP Superberry Hydrate + Glow oil was a real treat to my skin.

The Verdict: I love skincare, so this set of moisturizing products was right in my wheelhouse. This kit has a good mix of newer products and cult favorites, and I like the wide variety of brands. If you're looking for a new moisturizer, love trying samples of skincare, or need to stock up before a trip I definitely say this kit is worth checking out. Value-wise, this kit adds up to $54.08, which is about a dollar short of the promised value.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you order today? Yes, this is still available!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $25 and had a total value of $54.08, which means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • belif: $4.10
  • First Aid Beauty: $6.47
  • fresh: $2.65

Is the bag really compostable? Its interior seems to be coated in some metallic plastic lining
