This is what it looks like when you checkout- you add both the foundation and the Sephora Favorites set to your cart, and then a discount of $39 will automatically be applied.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in "Seashell", 1 oz - Retail Value $39

I had tried samples of this foundation in the past, but honestly, I didn’t remember my overall thoughts before opening up this full-size bottle. I’ve used this a ton since receiving it- I actually really like it. My preferred way of applying it is to apply it with a makeup brush, spread it out, and then really blend it out with a damp makeup sponge. I’ve found that this method minimizes product waste, gives me full coverage, and also keeps my foundation from going on too thick or looking cakey. The end result masks my acne hyperpigmentation and redness, and it layers well with my blush, highlight, and contour products. I ordered the shade "Seashell" based on the description (very fair rosy), but my true shade match is "Cloud" (fairest rosy). I had no issues making the exchange for the proper shade in-store at my local Sephora.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in "Vanilla Quartz", 0.04 oz - Estimated Value $10.35 (Buy the 0.085 oz version for $22)

I am no stranger to the shimmering skin perfectors from BECCA, and now that I have tried a wide variety of shades I think Vanilla Quartz was a great match for a fair-light complexion box. Vanilla Quartz is described as a light gold shade with a pink pearl shimmer. It adds a bit of light to my face while still looking pretty natural, and the soft shimmer in this formula isn’t very apparent once it’s been blended into my face. There are other highlighters I can reach for when I want a more blinding highlight, but this works really, really well for an everyday highlight.

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder in "Butter", 0.02 oz - Estimated Value $1.33 (Buy the 0.27 oz version for $18)

I am much more a fan of setting powders than I am setting sprays, and I will eagerly try anything and everything from Fenty Beauty. This loose powder is designed to reduce shine and blur out the imperfections on your face, and the shade "Butter" is for those with fair to medium skin tones. I thought it was a very lightweight powder that didn’t settle into any lines or creases, and I did like the soft blur finish this gave my face.

Here I am with just the Born This Way foundation applied.

And here I am with the foundation, highlight, and setting powder before I moved on to the rest of my routine. I really love this base combo!

The Verdict: I have been dying for a customizable foundation Sephora Favorites Kit, and I’m so excited this was released. The Born This Way foundation is such a well-known product for a reason- it worked really well for me, and it is available in 35 shades with various undertones. The highlight and setting powder were great complements to the foundation, and with the way the pricing worked out, you essentially got them for free with the purchase of the foundation. I hope to see more customizable foundation kits from Sephora in the future, but this was a great start!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you order today? This kit is no longer available for purchase in the Light shade. The Medium and Deep kits are still available.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $39 and had a total value of $50.68, which means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Too Faced: $30.01
  • BECCA: $7.96
  • Fenty Beauty: $1.02

I would love to try this and fina a color that works well for my skin. Is there a way to order small samples to try and match a color before you commit to an entire bottle?

That box is not worth $39 and having so spend $50 for free shipping. You can get a sample of that foundation at most department stores.
