Our Ipsy Glam Bag Plus February 2020 Review

Here is our info card complete with all of our items.

Our bag this month is a pearly pink faux leather with a deep magenta interior.

Now, on to the items!

Murad Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF 30, 1.7 fl oz - Retail Value $65.00

Sunscreen is a year-round necessity, but I always find myself obsessing over it a little more right before spring. It is a great time to buy a new bottle of your current fave, or try something new! In this case, I received a full bottle of SPF moisturizer from Murad and I am quite pleased. This is a brand that I find very high quality and effective, but never buy because the price tags are terrifying. I will certainly take a tube in a box though! I am really impressed with the texture of this formula. It leaves literally zero residue or film behind, which is an impressive feat for a facial SPF. It also has a citrusy scent that is really pleasant. I am very happy with this addition.

Il Makiage Inkliner in 'Black', 1 fl oz - Retail Value $21.00

Look ya'll. Black eyeliner! I know, I know. Someone out there gets excited every time. I mean, I have about a billion makeup brushes and I still get amped whenever I find a new one in a box. Eyeliner addict, this is for you! This stuff is a true black, but had a longer dry down than I was anticipating, meaning when I bent my wrist it got a little messy, as you can see below. If you just leave this product alone long enough to try though, the staying power is pretty great. The marker style tip allows for precision application too.

Black eyeliner!

Dominique Cosmetics Sweater Weather Palette – Listed Value $29.00

Swoon! To all my readers out there who have been lamenting the red/orange/warm palettes that seem to be everywhere, this is a breath of fresh air! Although this palette is winter themed, I personally think these shades couldn't be more perfect for spring. The pastel vibes are giving me life. Everything was actually really well pigmented and super smooth, save for the dark 'Messy Bun' shade which required a little more romancing to really shine. I think my favorite shade might be that charming periwinkle. It looks truly adorable alone all over a lid with a candy pink pout.

Top to bottom: Sweater Weather, Fuzzy, Toasty, Cuddle, Chill, and Messy Bun

Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Lipstick in 'Seoul Rose', 3.5 g – Retail Value $16.00

I have liked every single Touch in Sol product I have tried, but those were all skincare. I was stoked to see this lipstick from them in my bag. I am really impressed with it. Imagine a matte finish with a satin feel, and loads of hydration. Now also imagine you can use this as a sheer tint or a totally bold opaque look? This lipstick can seriously do it all and this color is a stunner. It is the perfect sort of formula for trying out that Korean gradient lip look trend. I kind of think I need all the colors available in this formula, STAT.

Gaaaah! I am drooling.

Sweet Chef Sheet Mask Trio – Retail Value $9.00

I also received these in my Ultimate bag this month, but this duplicate set couldn't make me happier. I adore these masks. This trio consists of kale, ginger, and beet formulas. The beet and ginger are a lightweight clear serum, while the dreamy kale is a creamier sort of magic. All of them left my skin looking and feeling great, and to add to the cuteness, each has an illustration and a saying on each cheek!

Presh!

Verdict: This box has a value of $140.00 which is awesome for a $25 box. I am legitimately blown away by this box. I usually really love my Ipsy boxes, but this might be an all-time favorite for Glam Bag Plus. Aside from the eyeliner, I absolutely loved and adored every single thing inside. The Murad SPF moisturizer came at a great time as I like to stock up on good SPF facial formulas right before spring hits. The lipstick was a dreamy color and the formula was divine. The Sweater Weather palette is so freaking pretty, and I love that it is all matte, versatile, and has that amazing lavender shade. I am also head over heels for the mask trio. I plan on buying more of these!! I am pretty over the moon with this whole box and very, very happy with my February selections.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You'll likely start with February as your first month. As of publication, there was no Ipsy waitlist!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Where is your BoxyCharm Premium review for the month of February? Wondering what MSA thinks of the $1.40 (oh, sorry, I mean $100) Face Skin moisturizer sent in it this month. 🤔

I skipped this plus even though I really liked the pallet. I kinda wished I had gotten it now because it looks look a solid box. I would also have looked the overpriced brush set!
I know I’m keeping plus next month because of the bag, I hope choice is good tomorrow.

Similar but not identical.
Did not like the lipstick. It felt good going on, but showed up lighter than my lips and smells like coconut. That’s an automatic ‘no’ in my book.

I got the 5 piece brush set. I used one; it’s decent and the nubbly rubber handle feels good. Like others, I dispute the $154 price tag, it seems a bit much.

I’m also not a fan of liquid liners. I much prefer pencils.

I got the Murad and the Sweater Weather palette. I haven’t tried either, but Murad is a good product line.

I adored my February Plus . I chose the Biorace serum and it is super.
I am looking forward to choice tomorrow.

You’re welcome!

I got practically the same box (foundation, which I picked, instead of the lipstick though)! I wasn’t very impressed with the eyeliner’s performance but I surprisingly loved the eyeshadow. I tend to go for neutrals or pinks but I ended up really loving the colors for this palette!

I picked the spf and I also received the black eyeliner to add to the pile I’ll never use. I got a sleeping mask that I’m excited to try. Two useful items is what I’ve come to expect. Thanks to choice, I can be sure to receive something I’ll really love.

I loved my bag but very disappointed with the pallet. No pigmentation whatsoever, the colors are dull and blends away to nothing. I have two other DC pallets from BC and there is huge difference in pigmentation and blendability between this pallet.

I was going to say the same thing. Huge disappointment in the formula. 😔.

Loved all the other items in my bag, though.

The lavender showed up nicely on my olive skin but the pink did not. It may be fine on lighter skin though.

Ashley Marie

I agree, I had such higher hopes for that palette. It looked so pretty, but once I got it, it was too dry and slightly powdery. Somethings definitely not right about it, b/c my other DC palette is way better in quality.

Oh no, I am regretting not picking up that lipstick. I hesitated when it was a last chance add-on and when Touch in Sol recently had a sale 🙁

me too! I had two colors in my bag during the 50% off sale and when I went back to purchase, the sale was over! 😭

I’ve discovered a lot of love for Murad because of Ipsy. I’ve been using the SPF like this one and it’s great. And I’m obsessed with the skin balancing moisturizer in the blue tube Ipsy sent me a couple of months ago. It was an add on this month and I bought one with each of my bags. Purlisse is another high end brand I scoop up in add ons whenever I can. My skin loves both brands and my heart and soul love getting them at great prices!!

Almost bag twins! My lipstick was a different brand. This was my first GBP – I signed up just to get the $65 Murad sunscreen for $25 plus four free full-sized items. Nothing to complain about!!! In my opinion, GBP blows away Fashionista, Glossybox, and Boxycharm. I’m in love. Can’t wait to see what the “pick one” options are tomorrow.

Those masks are cute, but I though GBP and GBU were not supposed to have duplicates on the same account!

Are yours separate accounts for review purposes or did Ipsy drop the ball but luckily with something you use and like?

She stated under her other review hey are under different accounts 🙂

I loved my Ipsy this month! I think they are getting a little better at following profiles? I don’t know, I just know somehow I’ve managed to avoid the products I don’t want these last few months. I have actually never received an eyeliner in over a years worth of GBP. Don’t know how, but I’m not complaining! I was disappointed with the DC palette. I couldn’t get that lilac shade to apply without serious patchiness and the colors faded to grey after just a few hours. Really disappointed, I love the color story!❤ I didn’t use primer and I used the ridiculously priced brushes that Ipsy also sent me. I’m going to give it another shot with eye primer and my Sigma brushes before I give it away. I’m hoping it will perform better if I finesse it a little. I also got the Dr. Botanicals mask, which didn’t work out for me and the Biorace serum that I absolutely love! That serum made the box for me, everything else was a bonus!

I used it with primer and had the same result–MAJOR patchiness to the point I had to just layer a shimmery purple from another palette just to fix it. Bummed. I’m glad I tried it, but I would have used the Murad more. Oh well…

I’m also really enjoying the Sweater Weather palette! Such pretty colors are a welcome change from the bold and orange-toned palettes I’ve been receiving lately in my boxes. This month’s GBP was a win for me!

I got the sweater weather palette too and am on palette overload at the moment. I wasn’t planning on keeping it, but once I saw how very matte the colors were and realized I didn’t have a similar palette I went ahead and tried it and was so impressed with how the colors looked on me. I have been using this palette daily since!
