Fortune Cookie Soap “The Roaring Twenties” January 2020 Review

Here is the info sheet for this month’s box.

That’s the Berries! Body Frosting, 2.5 oz -  Retail Value $12.99

The body frostings from Fortune Cookie Soap are the brand's thickest body moisturizers, and I personally love the texture of it- it’s so thick they pipe it in like it's, well, frosting. The scent is a mix of blackberries, black currant, frozen blueberries, and amber, and I appreciate the intense moisture this gave to some of the driest parts of my body.

All That Jazz Cuticle Oil

I am the worst at taking care of my cuticles because of who I am as a person, but I love this bright, citrusy scent so much that I am hoping I get in the habit of using this oil my regularly. The scent has notes of mandarin and blood orange with a hint of resin, and the formula of jojoba oil, vitamin E, and avocado oil was hydrating to my poor nail beds.

Liquid Gold Perfume Oil

This perfume has notes of brandy, berries, and champagne, so it has a nice warmth to it. I don’t love how frequently perfume oils appear in this subscription box, but that’s more so because I hate using roller balls to apply my perfume.

Speakeasy Room Spray, 1 oz

The first thought I had when I sprayed this room spray was “it’s spicy,” which surprises me considering the scent notes are gin, lime, club soda, and “breaking rules.” I’m assuming it’s the rule-breaking that gives off the cinnamon vibe in this room spray, and it definitely adds something interesting to your regular old living room air.

The Verdict: I thought the roaring twenties theme of this box was fun, and none of the scents were misses for me. I especially loved the scent All That Jazz and would enjoy it in a body cream, and overall I’m happy with this month's box.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

The body frosting looks a little weird in the side view…kinda like worms or brains. But I’d really like to try it!

This was my last box before canceling and oddly enough I didn’t get the room spray, which I would have used. I got another car diffuser (which I got every single month). I wanted to love this sub, but didn’t. I was always hoping for actually get soap. I will admit I did like the cuticle oil from the box.
