The February 2020 box was the worst ever! Oil of Olay? NYX brush? Some off brand lipstick? And please…..another highlighter??.

Sometimes I think I’m getting ripped off . I have always paid full price which is almost 17.00 . I’ve had my sub for almost 4 years and I still don’t have a shipping notice and I always get the crap choices . So if this happens this time I think I might be done 😂😂

And lipsticks🤣. I skipped this month for that very reason. I wished they would send a survey asking why you cancelled or skipped.

How many eye creams and highlighters does one person need?? There are so many interesting products out there. Can’t we get something a little different?

Kim

Does anyone know what the Amazon version of the box is?

Reply ButtonReply

Liz

The Amazon box I got has the Appeal lipstick in the shade Muse (medium pinkish-rose color), the Belif Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask, and the NYX Pro Powder Brush.

Kim

Thank you both!

Teresa

I got the same for my Amazon box today. I was actually surprised at how nice the NYX brush was and how wearable the Muse color of the lipstick is. Also glad not to get yet another Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb. I have at least five of those from various boxes and I’m not the biggest fan. Interested in trying the sleeping mask though. And while I didn’t really need another highlighter this was actually pretty and subtle with a light hand.
I wasn’t all that excited about this month’s box when I first saw the spoilers but now that I’ve received it I’m very happy with it and think I’ll get a lot of use out of it. I have another one coming from Allure so we’ll see what that one brings for the variations.

brandy

Mine was delivered today from Amazon, it had the Appeal lipstick in Muse.

I was so happy, until I saw OR , OR ,OR !!!
Sorry that has happened to ppl on the site to swap… I had a bad feeling about it so never started that on here, but did alot with fabfitfun until this one girl lied a few times. So I stopped getting on there. To much of a headache!!! I really wish Allure didnt do so many different ones we may get. Also was happy when I thought I was getting a nice lippy but that is for new ppl. Lol good luck with that never got mine:)
Still love my allure box every month!!!!

Even though I have daughters and nieces close by, I still end up with stuff from subs I won’t use. There are a lot of shelters as well, but not too many take any makeup. I called our local catholic charities and the local school district. The school district was able to give me information to donate to project prom and project graduation. I’m saving makeup for that and now I’m collecting formal wear for them. I didn’t go to prom because I didn’t have the money. This is much more satisfying than swapping.
If you can find a women’s shelter or transitional living or a group home for teens, those places will usually take our unwanted items as well.

I just canceled my yearly subscription. It was a big mistake to do yearly subs anyway. 1. It is hard to believe some of the products were “editor’s faves.” Considering Allure editors getting the latest and the best products around to try. I love Tarte products but how many times am I supposed to get Tarte mascaras? And what about Anastasia highlighter? It is on sale everywhere. Subscription boxes need to stop sending highlighters, period. We will be seen from far far away planets with the amount of sparkle they sent us. 2. Cancellation is just pain in the shoulders at this age! I should be able to do it online. Overall, not a terrible box for makeup/ skincare junkies but I have become very selective, so it was unnecessary for me.

LOL!!! Maybe all the glow from highlighter is the reason we need Space Force?!?!?! 🤣
I started getting subs a few years back. It started with grief shopping. I enjoyed the surprises and trying new products. Now, it’s just old. So, I took another commenters comments to heart and cut back on subs. Big time! Down to Ipsy. I resubscribed to Allure for the January box. But, I forgot to call and skip February. It’s the variations that really tick me off.
I used to be able to get rid of unwanted items on the MSA Swap Page. But, after what happened over the holidays, I’m never going to swap again and I will never promote MSA again. I have had swaps stolen in the past, meaning; I know what I sent was delivered but my fellow swapper chose NOT to send me their item. MSA will do nothing about it. Once I sent enough messages to said thief so they could look up the police report with their name and address on it and the fact that it’s being forwarded to where they live, I finally got my items. All of them opened and ruined intentionally along with a cat box turd. That’s really intelligent to put your return address on something like that. I’ll never see my products, time or money, but the fact that this person has stolen before means they violated probation. Karma!!!
The last swap did it for me. Right before Christmas! It’s under $50, so it’s not like they’re going to do anything about it except take the report and forward all of the info to her local law enforcement. I contacted MSA regarding the swap thief and it took several emails to get a response. Once MSA did finally get back to me, they said they would try to make contact and resolve the situation. The swapper in question was not communicating with me at all. After a few days, I heard back from the swapper and MSA. Two different stories. MSA; Swapper is dealing with a serious situation and would like to reimburse me if I could provide account information?! WTH?! Seriously MSA?! No! Would you?! Then MSA said they would send me the product the swapper owes me and investigate further. Lol! Nope! Nothing! The swapper in question is STILL on the swap sight and actively swapping. But, if you look, it’s pretty easy to see that she does this to someone about every six months or so and then claims family emergency and MSA just keeps letting her steal through the swap site.
Anything I get in swaps that I don’t want, I just save it and donate it. Prom is coming up and I have 3 allure boxes full of makeup, one is nothing but highlighters. 😂 I’m collecting unwanted formalwear to donate too.

Wow. I did MSA swapping 2 times. It was difficult to get anyone to swap because we all kinda did the Same boxes, and the ones that didnt, didnt need skin care makeup items. The second time I forgot to send an eyeliner and felt bad, so I sent like 50 extra dollars worth of goodies to make up for it and she was super sweet. But I had good experience the 2 times I did, but it was just an extra hassle.

I think a lot of people wait for spoilers and they wait for “good stuff ” or sales like boxy etc and buy multiples and then sells them on the side for 10 times the price which sucks for people looking to buy just 1 of something to personally use it that might not be able to afford it, or whatever and not have a chance to buy it.

But that’s just my thoughts. I am sorry that happened to you. I never knew people would really not send items. I get things happen. I felt bad over forgetting the eyeliner and sent it right out the next day with lots of extras and apologies. But I couldn’t imagine just messing someone over like that and then sending litter waste.

That’s just a sad human.

Lynn

Wow. I am so sorry for what you want through. Thank you for posting your story. I have thought about joining swaps many times but thought it could become a hassle. I know now it is not for me.

Renee

I’m good with everything except the highlighter, so not bad for me!

Yep! Me too! I forgot to skip! I’m stuck too… Not happy about the amount of variations.

has anyone heard of Roccabox beauty box from Uk..if so can you tell me about this box…thanks.

Not thrilled. Tried to cancel, but they offered me a discount to stay two more months and now I’m regretting taking it lol. Oh well

I ALMOST fell for the 2 months reduced, but came to my senses as I opened my mouth to say “yes.” It was just a couple of dollars saved and if I didn’t want it for $15, I figured I probably didn’t want it for $12 or $13 either (can’t remember what they offered).

Still not excited about the variants.

I’ve tried most of the Belif line, and they’re good.

Forgot to cancel so I will be stuck with this one….

When I saw the spoilers I thought, “looks nice, but not enough for me to re-subscribe” then I remembered I bought a 3-month gift sub last month. lol It’s cool… I’ll use most of what’s in it 🙂

Anyone know if Allure prevents duplicate subscribers?

I signed up for an additional sub/box on Jan 22nd using a different email and they charged me and then refunded me the next day. When I try to sign in with my 2nd email account to see what’s going on, it simply takes me to my original Allure sub I signed up for last year. Any insight to this?

Jraewebb

Yes, they do actually keep track of multiple subs. They cancelled my “new” account, and refunded the next day as well. Then they cancelled my original sub from 2015! So I literally had to become a new subscriber. I just put it under my husband’s name and email this time. They keep track of this stuff but can’t seem to get people the new subscriber gifts they’re owed or replacement items!

I created 2 accounts with different emails and recieved both with te new member gifts. cancelled both after I recieved them. now debating on creating a new account with my moms address to try again! one 1 I used my first name and the 2and i used my middle name.

Louisa

Yes, they do track that kind of thing. Unlike most other beauty boxes. I read it on their website when I signed up in October. Basically, “don’t try to create more than 1 account in order to get multiple new member gifts b/c we track it in our system.”

Reply ButtonReply

Jo

At one point I had three through Amazon… it’s easy to pause and cancel with them as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Sign up for a second sub through Amazon. It’s easier to cancel but you don’t get the new subscribe gift.

Reply ButtonReply

Shannon

Yes! They will just cancel your 2nd sub.

Rachel

Glad I skipped a month. Not too interested in these products this time around. Hopefully next month is better.

Paula

Thanks! I didn’t know this! Just as well, I’m not thrilled with this month’s box. 🙁

JuJu

You should do a second sub through Amazon, that would work.

Signed up! Hopefully, I’ll get the Appeal Cosmetics lipstick since I received the Cargo in a past box.

Linda

I like a couple of the items (the skincare), but nothing else entices me with this particular box. I cancelled a while ago. Passing for February, but will keep an eye on you, Allure.

disneyjoy1970

This is a nice mix of necessary items (the Nyx brush and Belif cream variant) and of makeup items (lipstick and highlighter). The box is well worth the $15.00 price point. 🙂

Not a bad box at all!
