  1. i’m back and forth about cancelling because I don’t love the idea of NOT being able to pick anything that’s an option on my quarterly subscription. This is my second box so I’m just trying it out to see if I go all in or not and get the yearly membership after this one. That being said, if you give me the choice I tend to pick the same products over and over and maybe this is a way to push me a little to do something different. I like the purse and i’d pick the black one but I don’t hate any of them OR if I change my mind I’m sure I could gift it to a friend and it would be a nice enough gift. The purse alone is at least $60 retail if you check their website. My items last time around were all quite nice and though I bought the box to gift items for Christmas, the box didn’t arrive until January BUT honestly i’m not mad because I liked a lot of the items and kept them for myself happily. I LOVE the add on market. It is awesome and possibly the best perk of the subscription. So maybe i’ll just sit tight and see what comes in my box, it’s a little fun to give up control and i think it works because Causebox quality is nice, often cruelty-free which is important to me and it’s generally all my style so far. 🙂

  2. When will they let us customize our boxes? This is my first time getting CauseBox

    • Today! Customization is OPEN!!!

  3. off topic, but I LOVE those light blue pants, I need them in my life!

    • I was thinking the same!

  4. Love every single item so far. Cause box is killing it…unlike FFF. I’m not even excited for a single item in my upcoming box.

  5. Jen,

If you log in, then select the cart, it appears you can scroll through all the items of the previous market which appear behind a pop-up/banner.

    • Okay, thank you. 🙂

      • The market is now open for next
        9 days.

  6. Sorry, meant the Causebox spoilers were starting to grow on me especially after the PSMH spoilers.

  7. Brand new member here, signed up for the winter welcome box which still hasn’t shipped yet (for me). Wasn’t super excited about the Spring spoilers (Especially after PSMH spoilers), but they are starting to grow on me. Then I took a look at the winter market and it is EXTENSIVE! Super excited for what they have available this season. At this point, I’m glad I didn’t skip, but at the same time scared for my wallet 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • How do I find the winter market?

    • It took a while to get the winter welcome. Mine arrived last week.

  8. I’m slightly disappointed. After the first spoiler, I was kind of hoping for a “eco friendly” theme, something kind of different. So far I feel like this is a bit of a repeat of last spring with the “vegan leather” bag and bandana.

However, I will say that I don’t like their new FFF like model of having At least half the items be customizable. It was a great perk to go annual and be able to select the color of one or two items, or chooses between the necklace or earrings. But now it just seems like too big a risk to subscribe without going annual, which turns me off a bit.

  9. I’m skipping this box. Aside from the purse, which is okay, everything else is just not going to work and is not even giftable.

  10. I decided to purchase the box after seeing the bag spoiler. I tend to lean towards leather bags, but I had a couple of previous boxes with the portfolio and passport holder -the latter a product I wasn’t crazy about, but it turned out to be very useful and better than I thought – and I was impressed with the quality. And hopefully this bag will have a better sustainability (don’t yell at me if it doesn’t!)
While the Necklace/mascara spoilers didn’t make me overly happy (Too many similar items that I keep gifting Around), today’s spoilers intrigue me. I won’t be able to choose, but I hope to get the bandana (The planner looks beautiful though).
I’m not having buyer’s remorse so far!
I canceled my annual fff subscription because spring wasn’t That appealing to me and I was up for renewal, maybe in the future I’ll consider going annual with causebox, but first I should really going through all the products that I accumulated with my subscriptions.

  11. So excited about these offerings! Will probably pick the grey purse as a color I have never had, we don’t have produce bags, so that’s a great addition, eyelash products as would never buy them retail, and would love the bandana for the purse but youngest daughter going through a nasty divorce after 15 years and the self care planner would be something she will find soothing and supportive, so will opt for that. Wonderful and a real treat.

    • I agree I’m super excited for this box 🙂

    • I love Causebox and have been pleased with every box I have gotten from them! I have enjoyed it so much, I have added another subscription. I find every box has more than $50 of things I like or use. The extras are great gifts. While the produce bags may not be for everyone, they are only 1/10 of the box value. I will use them, and give a set to my daughter in law. The purse is adorable and more expensive than the whole box! Love the Causebox quality, the unique products and the mission.

    • Me, too. Love it.

  12. I think they’ll have a hard time selling out of the spring box. The spoilers are too commonly found in subs- need uniqueness

    • It seems like a box of old ‘tat’ to me, you can buy equivalents elsewhere: plastic hand bag something I can buy for $10, straw grocery bags 50 cents, bandanna 50 cents gold coloured’ necklace $1, note book $2. I don’t get it, what am I missing here? Why would anyone spend $50 on this?

      • You’re missing the quality. Generally, everything Causebox puts in their boxes is of a pretty good quality. For example, I’m wearing the bracelet from the Summer 2019 box without taking it off ever since I got it – that’s well over 6 months now, and I’m bathing with it, sleeping with it and occasionally putting hand cream and perfume on it. It still looks good. In comparison, my FFF jewelry is trash after 1 or 2 uses. Same experience with basically everything I have gotten from Causebox – I’m using some of the stuff for years now and still no complaints.

      • Because we like Causebox.

      • Man, I wish I could shop where you do. No way I could find this quality of the grocery bags and vegan purse for those prices. A cheap paisley bandana is at least a dollar here, and this one is much nicer. These bulk bags are cotton, not straw, and they even have the muslin ones for grains, and the well made ones like this last forever. Depending on size and material that run 4 to15 dollars each. Yes, I could get a skinny spiral notebook with a flimsy cardboard cover for a dollar or two,but this journal is bound, and not just blank. A dollar store gold necklace would be spray painted plastics.

      • Wow, this just goes to show how different we all are… I LOVE a fresh new purse in the spring and with the colors of baby blue (my fav) and honey, they are great – they put black there for those that always like a black purse like those that mostly dress in black… I do not have cotton bags for produce and these are great for keeping my produce from rolling around in my larger totes and I love the wellness planner and scarf… These all seem like “fresh” items for spring season but I think it is easy to get sub box fatigue…

      • I believe it’s a wonderful curation. I can’t wait to see the entire box.

      • The purse is vegan leather, similar to Matt and Nat, very expensive stuff! The purse alone pays for this box.

      • I agree – LOVE this curation!

      • After ordering several Causebox’s I have to agree. The spoilers always suck me in, but then I’m so disappointed with the quality of the items. I think the winter 2019 box was the worst. The blanket that was supposedly worth $100+ was incredibly thin and coarse, and just plain ugly. I agree with your assessment of the current box- the “vegan leather” (aka pleather. It’s not a quality or environmentally friendly material folks!) purse is an automatic turn-off, and everything else so far just seems pretty darn generic. I would imagine the produce bags are the equivalent of cheap cheesecloth, and how many journals does a person really need?

I think lots of people are willing to give this box a free pass since it’s supposedly supporting artisans/charity organizations/etc. I always feel like an all day sucker when it arrives though, and I’d be interested to see just how much “support” Causebox provides to these various causes.

      • That blanket was definitely awful. Thankfully I didn’t have high expectations. I thought it looked like a hospital blanket in the spoiler pictures… and it feels like one too lol

My favourite thing from Causebox was the siizu poncho

      • I have had the same experience! I’m drawn in and excited, then let down when it arrives. This is an easy cancel when my year is up.

      • I loved the throw! The texture is fabulous!

      • If y’all hate your throws so much, send them to me!

      • Agree 100%. Zero interest in this one.

  13. I am choosing the purse in honey. I am grabbing the mascara too. Can we get both of something if we pay a little extra? I have had a rough time of it with illnesses and surgery. I would love to get the Wellness Journal to help me get back on track when I am better. I would like the bandana because I want to tie it on my purse. These boxes can’t win with some of you. What is they offered 2 sunglasses as a choice? Lots of us can’t wear sunglasses and you would be complaining about it.

    • I agree, Shari. People were going gaga over those BOS monstrosity sunglasses and FFF cereal bowls, yet are complaining about Causebox. No one is forcing them to subscribe. If ya don’t dig it, don’t buy it! Simple as as that. Check with Causebox on purchasing an extra item. Theyve got a great CS department. I’m sending you good thoughts for healing. Enjoy your Causebox. I’m choosing the honey, too!

      • Amen

  14. Ok so many spoilers. Where are the spoilers for PSMH???? Are they still in business??

    • Spoilers start Thursday for PS.

  15. Another miss. Yet again, both items are from totally different categories. If I like this bandana, I’ll just buy it off someone.

    • I actually like different categories, it means if I don’t like one type, I can get another. If, say, I hate scarves, whatever color it’s on won’t matter. Less waste this way. 🙂

      • I do, too, B.

  16. Neither of chose 4 appeal to me. The planner would have been better off in the winter box. The only item that I’d really care to have is the eyelash serum.

    • I don’t think the planner is dated. You just start it when you start it. So it works for any season. 😊

    • The planner isn’t even for a year. It’s only 12 or 15 (couldn’t zoom in enough) weeks. 😕

  17. @MSA Are we able to get any information about the planner? I tried searching and couldn’t find it.

    • On their website there is a similar planner coming out in March with an RV of $40. It has a different cover, but I would bet that the pages are the same or similar to this one. I personally would never use it so I guess it’s the bandana if I don’t skip.

  18. I find it really unappealing when the items you choose from are vastly different. Makes the box feel like a random assortment of items rather than a carefully curated collection. I know everyone has different preferences, but curation is an important part of the sub box experience for me.

    • Looks more like a recent FFF box. I agree about the curated experience being important.

    • So…can you cite a specific example of a ‘carefully curated’ box that appealed to you? I’m genuinely curious.

      • I think the Summer 2019 Causebox is a great example with all the items related to a day out at the beach or the pool.

JourneeBox has fabulous boxes based on locations, and Oui Please, despite its shipping frustrations, is another box that I think puts care into selecting quality items that complement each other. Oh, and GlobeIn is another sub with boxes that seems curated with care. 🙂

      • That’s gray, not blue, according to the description. I’m picking that one for spring.

      • And yet, that was a horrible box for me cause I live in the desert… I think their winter box knocked it out of the park

      • I totally get that no theme is going to be a winner for everyone, but with the exception of the cover-up, I think everything in that box could be practical for people of all climates.

However, my point was just that I like it when it feels like a box has worked to bring together complementary items. Other people have different priorities, but curation is a big part of whether a box appeals to me personally. Now that Causebox seems to be embracing a more random assortment of items, I decided to let my subscription expire. Others like what they offer, and I have no beef with that. Just sharing my opinion. 🙂

      • Alice- You mention FFF quite a bit and it’s always negative. I have subbed to Causebox and it’s ok based on the season. I’m not an annual member and will subscribe to it based on the season. I have gotten some amazing items but without more choices as an seasonal it’s tough. I on the other hand have been a FFF for nearly 3 years. Sorry you don’t like it. I’m sure you comment on their posts too. Maybe stick to Causebox comments without knocking down another box.
I would not subscribe to this seasons Causebox based on what I have seen.

      • Ooh, touchy, are we?! Please don’t tell me what to post or where to post. It’s my opinion and I’ll say what I believe. I’ve subbed to FFF. Didn’t care for it. Again, don’t try to tell others what to say or do. It’s not your option, dearie.

      • I didn’t get that summer one. I believe a ‘theme’ is too limiting. (case in point, the comment from the person who lives in desert country). I’m familiar with those other subs, and have followed reviews; but, haven’t purchased any of them. We all have different tastes, that’s for certain! I find the eclectic mix more to my taste. I love boxes like this spring variety. Enjoy your subs!

      • Heart and Honey boxes are masterfully curated boxes…but they don’t get as much love because they have an adult toy in them.

      • Sunday Riley’s recent Sleep Box was an ideal curated box for me. I use everything in it daily, and all the items were something I would not have purchased for myself, but I really like them all, and together they give me a new experience / routine.

  19. Can annuals skip? I’m regretting buying a year none of these items appeal to me.

    • Yes email them I was able to skip

      • Ooo…I’m glad to read this. I want to skip this box!

      • Box is just not for me. I’m not a fan of the purse style, and not crazy about any of the other options. Glad others like it but just doesn’t appeal to me so I skipped. I did email and they asked for my feedback as to why which I gave. No biggie I’ve enjoyed their other boxes but happy I have the options to skip on my annual subscription.

  20. Can you skip through the customization process, or do you have to email?

    • Email I believe

  21. Really wishing that bandana was in an adorable color and print like the box! Would’ve been so cute to tie on the bag

Kind of want the planner but I’m horrible at using such things lol decisions

    • YES! That would have been adorable and a huge hit for CB!

  22. Does anyone know if you can skip a box when you have a yearly subscription?

    • Yes you can. I am yearly and I just emailed them to skip this month.

  23. Purse is OK. but Causebox refers to that front pocket as a “phone pocket” and if it won’t fit phone and keys it doesn’t meet my purse criteria. I already have mesh produce bags, uninterested in the rest. Feeling like a skip this round.

  24. I can’t decide which color purse I want! They’re all so cute. I also don’t usually like “vegan leather” but this one looks like better quality than most, which is often the case with Causebox. I’m picking the planner!

    • I’m going with Honey!

  25. Sorry after Black Friday fiasco I am so done with Causebox.

    • If you’re really done, you wouldn’t have clicked on this post and deliberately left a comment. Just sayin’

      • Hahaha

  26. I just wish that the purse wasn’t made of plastic (that’s what vegan leather is), as I’m trying to get away from using plastic as much as I can. It doesn’t make sense to promote the sustainable grocery bags, and then follow up with a synthetic-material handbag. I may be the only one getting a totally mixed message from this subscription?

    • I won’t use animal products so I’m pretty happy with the purse. Don’t know if anyone has checked Pixie Mood’s website:

      No PVC

PVC is so last decade. We only use the highest quality PU leather materials in our products. PU is a form of vegan synthetic leather, typically lighter than animal leather, and does not use toxic chemicals like chlorine, which are harmful to the environment and our bodies, in the manufacturing process. It also works well in colder climates and is more durable than PVC. So long, polyvinyl chloride!

    • I can see a difference. Even plastic, you’ll use the purse for a long time (yes, I use my non-leather purses for years and they look just fine). Plastic produce bags are single use and few people dispose of them properly for recycling.

      • Plastic produce bags are double-use in my household, not single-use. That’s what the litter box treasures go into.

But regardless, by now, I would say that most households in North America already own multiple tote bags of various materials that they use or can use for groceries. These Causebox ones are bad because of the string handle. Put some canned goods or potatoes into one of them and the string will dig into your shoulder or arm. No thanks.

      • They’re produce and bulk item bags which you then put in a reusable grocery tote. You don’t use them for the heavy grocery items.

      • I was going to write the same! Who would put canned goods in these produce bags??!!

      • My Vince Camuto “vegan leather” totes from FFF still look brand new and I use them every day. I believe they came from the Fall 2018 box. I use it to carry both of my laptops (yes I have 2. 1 for work, 1 for personal). I am so glad I added on the 2nd bag, because I have been incredibly happy with them. I am sure I will get several more years of use out of them as well. They literally look brand spanking new.

    • If you read about the company that makes the handbag, it sounds like they address some of those concerns. Sounds like they use a lot of recycled materials/sustainable practices. I’m with you on not loving vegan leather, but this at least sounds more passable?

    • I understand what you’re saying but the fact is that no subscription box is ever going to be environmentally sustainable. The only way to really address sustainability is to reduce consumption, and sub boxes are the polar opposite of that. Sure, the grocery bags can save plastic, but it comes with all of this other stuff that we don’t need, along with a ton of wasteful packaging. If we really wanted them, we could just pick some up at the store when we’re there instead of having them individually shipped across the country to us. I’m not trying to be a hypocrite or be harsh- I’m getting one too. And a fff box lol. But the “cause” in Causebox is just marketing, nothing more. It’s vague so it means whatever you want it to mean.

  27. Luckily I don’t like anything. My bank account is safe for spring!

    • Same here. I usually have some level of FOMO with this subscription but definitely not this season. I’m actually quite surprised at how much worse this season is than usual. I’m usually very tempted to add this box to my collection of subs every time they release the spoilers. Usually the only thing that stops me is knowing I have the worst luck with variants so a seasonal subscription would be too big of a gamble.
I do have a few annuals, much more so for the customization perks than the discount. Causebox just doesn’t consistently blow my mind enough to commit to an annual. And without being able to pick a single item it’s just too risky because most of the time there are at least two variants I would definitely not want to get.

However, with this group of products I don’t know if it would matter much what they sent me. I do think the purse is pretty cute but I have so many black purses that size and I am definitely not a fan of the honey shade. The odds of receiving the gray one are not exactly in my favor. Plus it looks like it’s very stiff and I don’t typically like that. I’ve been using reusable shopping and produce bags for over a decade (and replaced the few that got worn out or damaged along the way) so those are a big yawn. When I saw them as the first spoiler I’d hoped they were just getting the practical but boring item out of the way. Wrong.

Normally I appreciate anything eyelash-related, especially serums/treatments, but ever since I started using Babe Lash my lashes are so much healthier and so long (although not much thicker or plentiful unfortunately) that no matter what mascara I use I almost look like I’m wearing falsies or at least lash extensions. I’ve tried many growth serums and probably hundreds of mascaras without much luck so I keep having to do a double take when I catch my reflection in the mirror. It’s hard to imagine these lash products giving me better results. Of course, considering that I only wear silver, plus I happen to be really tired of seeing that bar-style necklace EVERYWHERE, getting that option would be worse.

Finally, as much as I love all things paper—books, magazines, notebooks (huge list maker here), etc. vs. electronic/digital media and planning I definitely wouldn’t want the self-care planner. I’ve learned that when I use a whole dedicated notebook (aka WORKbook) and get overly detailed trying to change/improve or start one new thing in my life, keeping up with the extra book and writing in it inevitably feels more like a chore than a motivator. I’m aware that documenting what you eat or your exercise has been shown to increase your chance of success but I don’t think you should need to do the same in order to implement more self care into your life. If you want to start journaling or some other creative activity get up 20-30 minutes before anyone else and use that quiet time expressly for that purpose. But for the many other activities that may need formally scheduled or planned just use your regular calendar/planner. Or post it on the family calendar on the fridge if that applies so everyone knows when you will be taking some time exclusively for yourself and hopefully will respectfully leave you alone. Schedule a nice hot bubble bath with a glass of wine or cup of tea (or a root beer float or chocolate shake if like me neither of those appeal to you 😉) on Friday nights to decompress. Apply a mask or other beauty or body treatment on Wednesday night for a mid-week perk up while you read a good book or magazine or watch funny/cute animal videos. Whatever brings you joy and freedom from stress. On Sunday take a walk to a scenic place and do some deep breathing while you take in the beauty or create a mini oasis in the quietest corner of your home behind a locked door with a candle or aromatherapy oil/spray and do a guided meditation with quality noise-canceling headphones to center and prepare yourself for the week ahead. Keep doing it and eventually it becomes a healthy habit that neither you or your loved ones even need a reminder for. I think having to keep up with a notebook just takes up precious time and energy which kind of defeats the purpose. But that’s just me.
Unfortunately the other item is something I’d normally appreciate because quality bandanas often make cute and more comfortable headbands but this particular one doesn’t appeal to me at all. Except maybe as a dust cloth. 😁

Hopefully most people are not as dumbstruck as I am by the uninspiring vanilla-ness of these spoilers. I do suspect there will be quite a few subscribers thankful for the option to skip.

      • This is the looooooongest comment I’ve even seen here at MSA.

      • I’m fairly certain that’s the longest comment I’ve ever seen on this forum, including my own, and I am now exhausted after reading it.

  28. Hey! Do we know if that bandana is 100% cotton?? Thanks!!

    • Skipping

    • Looks like from the Jenni Earle website that her bandanas are 100% cotton and made by hand in North Carolina. Typical size is 21″x 21.”

      • Thanks! I should have looked at the brand website myself! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

    • I couldn’t find this exact print on the company’s website, but the other bandanas on their site are 100% cotton and made in North Carolina

  29. Not feeling this whole box at all tbh! I emailed and asked to skip this one.

  30. I’m definitely choosing the self care planner. I like this box. I’m picking the brown/honey purse, mascara. Bags are nice since I don’t actually have any. Plus the box is gorgeous.

    • Same!
