TheraBox “Rejuvenate” December 2019 Review

TheraBox includes a mini magazine highlighting the ingredients to happiness included in each month’s box. It includes a note from the editor, opportunities to win free boxes, a list of all the items included in this month’s box and TheraBox FAQs. I love that TheraBox provides a description of each product, a link to the product’s website, the cost of the item and a coupon code if available.

Sonage Gommage Exfoliating Gel, 1.7 fl oz – Retail Value $36

Let me just start by saying that my skin has been in bad shape this winter, so I need all the help I can get with it! This is a non-abrasive microbead-free peel gel made with locust bean husk, lime oil, and camphor (this checks bacterial growth so even the most sensitive skin is left looking fresh). My skin is not only dry but it is very sensitive, and after reading more about this product I felt comfortable using it. The directions indicate that this is best to use once a week by applying a thick layer to your face and neck, let stand for one to two minutes, and then remove with your fingers and hands by making large circular motions. You can then remove anything remaining with a washcloth. This might be TMI, but I got just so much dead skin removed from using just once! I was honestly shocked by how much this gel removed! My skin didn't burn at all with the gel on, it felt cool and tingly, and I was left without any redness just super smooth and glowing skin. The only negative I found with this is that it did smell somewhat like Vick's rub, which I don't mind, but I know it bothers some people. Other than that, I was absolutely blown away by how well this gel worked and can't wait to continue using it week after week.

Grace & Stella Anti Wrinkle + Energizing Under Eye Masks, 12 pack – Listed Value $21.95, Retail Value $21

I don't know about you all, but I see celebrities on Instagram using eye masks all of the time; it looks so chic and luxurious! This box comes with 12 packets so there is a lot to go around! These little masks are made with collagen, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and natural minerals. They are meant to remove dark circles, puffy eyes, fine lines, and other fatigue around the eye area. Plus, they are vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free. I will say that even though I am always tired, I don't often have eye puffiness or dark circles, and I started using an eye toner a few years back when I turned 30. However, my husband often complains about his eyes being puffy and dark so I decided to share these with him. We each used a packet and agreed that they were simple to put on and comfortable! We left these on for 15 minutes as directed. I didn't notice a huge difference in my eyes, but my husband said he thought some of his puffiness went down. For me, I think these would be great to use before applying makeup for an event (or rare date night in my case) or maybe after a long flight to rehydrate your eyes!

The Happy Shoppe Co. 100% Soy Wax Midnight Pine Luxury Candle – Listed Value $15

Nothing makes me happier than receiving a candle! We burn candles in our house most days so I go through them quickly. I love the unique packaging and was excited to read in this month's booklet that the tin is reusable and the candle is made with sustainable soy. This particular candle is made with tangerine, rose, musk, and pine. I truly love more masculine scents like musk and pine, and I think the rose adds this feminine freshness that fills my entire family room with this earthy, rugged, yet feminine scent.

The Morning Sidekick Journal – Listed Value $29.90, Retail Value $26.90

This journal is part of the month's happiness boosting activity, and is a great way to dive right into your New Year resolutions! According to the booklet, this is a 66 day, fully guided, science-based morning planner journal that was created to help you build new habits by writing in it for only 5 minutes each day. With each new day, you will find a tip or idea that can help you find a morning routine that works best for you. It will also help to guide you with self-reflecting questions, how to plan your morning in 5 steps, how to map your biggest task of the day, and holds you accountable to try to beat snoozing. You will also determine and track your sleep times, plan out your morning the night before, track benefits, reflect on your day, and review your progress which will make you more aware of the benefits.

The book looks very detailed and has a lot of, what seems like, really great information to help change your routines. I have been reading through it and doing some research on it, but I haven't started my journal just yet. The perfectionist in me really wants to start it at the beginning of a month so I will probably start come February 1st. I will say that I'm not positive this will be something that I can fully benefit from, but that is coming from someone that hasn't started yet so I could be completely wrong in that assumption. I only say this because I am very routined as it is, being a stay-at-home Mommy to two kids, I sort of have to be on a schedule to keep the ship moving. My days and weeks are very planned and I wake up at the same time every day, so to be honest, my days are all pretty XYZ. Maybe this will help me in that sense though, to mix things up a bit and reflect!

Way of Will Warm Up Moisturizing Body Oil in Nutmeg + Galbanum, 4.4 fl oz – Retail Value $32

This body oil is made with vitamin E, tannins (antioxidants), linolic acid, omega-3, and omega-6 to firm, hydrate, and relax your skin and body. It also has nutmeg and galbanum essential oils infused to moisturize your skin while nourishing your mind. The directions indicate to use this on damp skin so right after you get out of a bath or shower. My husband and I both used this and both felt the same way, it did not moisturize our super dry winter skin. The oil didn't seem to really drink into my skin very well, rather leaving me feeling oily and still dry. My husband said that he didn't feel the relief on his dry skin areas that he normally feels when using moisturizer. This might work better for us in the summer when our skin is less dry so I'm going to tuck it away for now and try again.

The Happy Shoppe Co. Mini 2020 Desktop Calendar – Listed Value $5

This little desk calendar is so cute and could have arrived in various art prints for members. I love all of the animals featured on the one that I received! I don't have a desk, but I am going to use this for my son's art table to go over days of the week and months with him, which is something he has been asking me about a lot lately and will be something he covers next year in school.

Fig + Yarrow Day Nutrients Booster Serum, 1 fl oz – Retail Value $34

It seems that the big thing in skincare right now is oil-based serums, so receiving a cream-based serum was interesting! This is formulated with nourishing botanicals and antioxidants. It works with your skin to promote elasticity, brighten your complexion, and neutralize free radicals. This blend is very light and goes on smoothly leaving behind a light aloe scent. It is great to use right before adding my other serums and moisturizer. I have only been using this for a few days so I can't say if I see a huge difference in my skin, but I do love the way it makes my skin feel right after use so I will continue this in my morning skincare routine.

Robe'N'Hood "Namaste in Bed" Faux Silk Bathrobe – Listed Value $39

I wish I could "Namaste in Bed!" This robe was such a fun little surprise and I love that it comes in a solid color with a cute saying on it. It is 100% polyester and feels so silky smooth. It comes with a belt with loops (important so that it doesn't slide off) and pockets. I tend to prefer warm and cozy robes, especially this time of year, but I think it would be great to travel with or pair it with lingerie even. It is super soft and comfortable so I know I will get use out of it!

The Verdict: This was my first TheraBox and I can safely say that I loved it! The quality of each product is what stood out to me the most, but where I really see the value is in the overall product curation. There is such a nice mixture of beauty and wellness, home items, and that little something unexpected like the robe this month. Going through the box was so exciting because you just never know what you are going to find. I also love the monthly booklet which is more of a mini-magazine since it goes into such great detail about the product, but it also helps to make you aware of new brands. I learned so much this month and discovered things I wouldn't have normally. The Morning Journal is not something I would have purchased or even looked into, but now I have been researching and learning more about it and am eager to dive into it (really to see if it helps me even though I'm already so routine based). The exfoliating gel was the shining star for me since it worked wonders on my dry and sensitive skin. Some of the products didn't work great for me personally like the body oil and eye masks, but my husband is going to be using the eye masks because he loved them and I will try the oil again in the summer. So really it was a box full of wins! This month's estimated retail value is $208.90 making this box an awesome deal considering the $39.98 price ($34.99 + $4.99 shipping). You really can't beat that value, especially if you are looking to learn more about beauty and wellness brands and products or if you are just looking for a more curated way to pamper yourself!

What an awesome box. Do they give out spoilers before it comes out?

KW

Yes (usually three spoilers and usually about two weeks before the next box ships). The January box will have a round dry brush with massaging nodules, a body scrub, and gummy vitamins. There are usually 7-8 items total.

Melissa

I would LOVE to swap for the journal if anyone doesn’t want theirs.

This box looks lovely, I may have to give it a try!

The robe was tiny. Anyone bigger than a size small would not fit. But the rest of the box was awesome!
