Style Plan by Frank And Oak Review – January 2020
I received this page of info with my shipment that lets me know that I can find details about my clothing in my account. They also want me to know that they are a Certified B Corporation. Learn more about that here.
Here is my first outfit using some of the items from my Style Plan by Frank And Oak box this month.
I know I wear a size 31 in Frank AAnd Oak jeans since visiting a store last year but it seems like my size (which is the largest they carry) is always sold out online. I reached out to a stylist via chat and she was able to find and add a pair to my selections for the month which made me happy. I’ve been wanting black jeans forever since I only have one pair right now and I need a backup. This style comes in high-waist or ultra high-waist. I decided to go ultra and boy, are they high. Although they fit, they are very tight and they have a bit of the dreaded gap at the back of the waist. Perhaps I should have stayed at the regular “high-waist.” I’m not sure these are the ones for me, but I’ll keep trying. I like that they’re made with 98.5% cotton and 1.5% spandex because the higher the cotton content, the better I feel about clothing.
I feel a bit like a stuffed sausage in this mock turtleneck, TBH. It surely *fits* but I am so used to baggier or oversized tops these days that it just feels too tight for my liking. It seems I should go to a large, but then the shoulders may be in the wrong spot. This may just not be the right shirt for me. I love the taupe color though- it matches my Doc Martens! The fabric is super soft and made with 49% Tencel modal, 46% cotton, and 5% spandex. If I hold on to this, I can definitely wear it as a layer under overalls or a jumpsuit like the one I got last month.
This has a different name than the taupe mock neck above but seems to be the same shirt, just in stripes. Had I known, I probably would have tried a different top. Oh well! I do love stripes and have been rocking both regular and mock turtlenecks lately. The fit on this one is exactly the same, so I’d only feel comfortable wearing it under something else since it’s a little snug for my liking. It’s so cute on though!
I would normally go for a large in a dress since I have wider hips, but this looks oversized so I went for a medium. I’m glad I did. While it doesn’t fall as nicely as it would on someone with a straighter frame, I love the look of this (essentially) long sweatshirt dress. It’s what I crave from a dress- comfortable, casual, simple. Since it has such a casual look, I chose to pair it with my Docs and I can always pop a jacket over top to give it a little more shape.
And my favorite part- pockets! This is a winner for me.
Verdict: While I am still getting my footing with some of the sizing for Style Plan by Frank And Oak, I got some help from a stylist this month which was nice to test out and I’m still hoping to grab the perfect pair of jeans in the future. For now, I love my new sweatshirt dress and have some cute yet snug turtlenecks to layer under overalls and jumpsuits (which I wear a lot of).

I signed up for Style Plan yesterday using this link. Today I previewed my order, swapped out some items, and confirmed. About an hour later, I was charged for all of the items! This would have been nice to know ahead of time. I thought this would work like Trunk Club or Stitch Fix where you only pay a styling fee up front and only pay for what you keep after you return the rest. Not happy about this.

I’d also love to know about your Ohio? tattoo. You look great in the turtlenecks but that neck would feel like it’s strangling me. 🤣
Aw, thanks! I love loose turtlenecks these days. Yep, Ohio is my birthplace (as well as the birthplace of aviation). 😛
The tattoo is fabulous Marne! Thanks!
I love the sweatshirt dress. Is that a tattoo of Ohio on the back of your leg?
Sure is! My home state!
Awesome. I’m a Southwest OH girl myself.
