QVC TILI x Somewhere Lately 2019 Review

A small change I noticed with this new subscription model is the info sheet has notes about the items and tips on how to use them. Before, the info sheets would usually just include the ingredients of each item.

FRUDIA Toner in Pomegranate, 6.59 oz - Estimated Value $12.49 (Buy a set of two for $24.98)

This toner is 87% pomegranate extract, which is a pretty hydrating ingredient (exactly how I like my toners). Frudia is a K-beauty brand, the pomegranate extract is from Korean pomegranates, and I liked using this to layer hydration onto my face.

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mask – Retail Value $12

This sheet mask came in BoxyCharm a while ago, and I did my best to swap for as many backups as I could. I love Tatcha, and this is a sheet mask I enjoy reaching for when I have a special occasion that I want to feel pretty for. The second ingredient in this mask is Tatcha’s signature Hadasei-3, which is a blend of green tea, fermented rice, and seaweed. This also has ingredients like camellia seed oil, thyme, ginseng, and royal jelly. After twenty minutes of wearing this mask, my skin is indeed dewy, but it is also hydrated and has a touch more of a glow.

Doll 10 Lip Velvet Lip Creme in Fashionista, 0.06 oz - Retail Value $16

This is a new brand for me! I wore it out the other night, and I was impressed when I got home that the pigment was still there. It had faded a little bit but it stood up to a few drinks and cheese fries, and it was really comfortable to wear too. I will say, however, that while this is the full size the product weight is a bit small compared to what I would consider "normal" for a full-size liquid lipstick.

Laura Geller Pout Perfection Waterproof Lip Liner in Nude, 0.04 oz - Retail Value $18

I've tried Laura Geller lip liners before (I wouldn’t be surprised if I owned this exact lip liner somewhere in my stash already), but I like them so the more the merrier I say. They do a good job of keeping my lipstick from feathering and they glide on with no tugging.

Here is the lipliner swatched above the lipstick.

Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Moisturizer + Serum, 0.25 oz - Estimated Value $13.97 (Buy the 1.7 oz version for $95)

Even when a product is labeled as a 2-in-1, odds are I’m only going to use it as one or the other. Since I have dry skin, I definitely layered a moisturizer on top of this thicker serum. This has Sichuan pepper to diminish the appearance of wrinkles, but I’m pretty sure that’s only a temporary effect similar to a plumping lip gloss that will have pepper as an ingredient, too. This didn’t irritate my sensitive skin, but nothing about it convinced me it was worth the high price tag.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream, 0.30 oz - Estimated $3.60 (Buy the 1 oz version for $12)

Ahhh, L’Occitane. Once I became a teenager my aunt started sending me small gift sets from them for holidays and birthdays, and a hand cream like this one always made an appearance. The formula on this hand cream is 20% shea butter, and it is so well-known that a tube is sold every three seconds around the world!

BeautyBio Bright Eyes Colloidal Silver + Collagen Eye Gels, 3 ct - Estimated Value $8 (Buy a box of 15 for $40)

BeautyBio is a pricy skincare brand that I don’t see often in subscription boxes! I’ve tried a few of their products, but these eye gels were new to me. I love them! I do think they visibly reduced some of my dark circles when I was very tired, and they were cooling and relaxing to wear. I’m not sure if the colloidal silver actually does anything other than sound pretty, but regardless I would love to nab some more of these.

GOLDFADEN MD Wake Up Call Overnight Regenerative Facial Treatment, 0.17 oz - Estimated Value $8.50 (Buy the 1.7 oz version for $85)

Since this box came with three full-size items I’ll excuse the fact that this is a foil sample. This moisturizer is made with a large assortment of ingredients, including CoQ10, retinol, vitamin E, and avocado oil. Retinol on its own can be pretty drying, but I like the hydrating ingredients it is coupled with to leave skin moisturized. This is definitely a product you need to use for at least a few weeks to really see results, but I enjoyed it the night I used it.

The Verdict: While I am not familiar with the blog Somewhere Lately, I thought they curated a really nice box. Along with having an outstanding value ($92.56 by my math), I am happy that we received three full-size items, plus a Tatcha mask! This is a small detail, but I do love that the lip liner and lipstick paired well together for a full lip. The only thing that was a bit off for me with this box is that while the subscription normally ships the first Friday of every month, this particular box didn't ship until the very end of November.

It’s not a bad box. However, now that I have been receiving other beauty boxes with full sized products for the same price, samples no longer interest me, at least at a $25 price tag.
