Pearlesque Box December 2019 Review feat. SkinOwl

Each month you'll find an info card inside introducing the featured brand. For December, there are two products from SkinOwl that feature maqui berry.

SkinOwl Maqui Berry Beauty Drops PM, 2 oz. - Retail Value $85.00

These drops are quite lovely! I am very much in love with the sweet scent that comes from the included vanilla extract and tangerine oil along with maqui berry oil. They only other ingredient is baobab oil that is raw, organic, and cold-pressed. Products with these few ingredients are rare, so I enjoy seeing this in the box this month! Although they're called PM drops, I've used them in the morning as well. The directions say to use 5-7 drops but I think 2-3 is plenty for me and I must say that it really brightens my skin and gives it a glow while making it smell really nice. These drops aren't heavy so it only takes a short amount of time for my skin to drink it up. The full-size bottle is a healthy two ounces which should last a pretty long time. I'll be adding this one to my rotation for sure!

SkinOwl Maqui Berry Beauty Whip, 2 oz. - Retail Value $68.00

I know I've received this very SkinOwl product in the past but I can't for the life of me recall where. At any rate, this mask comes in a pump and has a thick lotion-like consistency in a light beige color. The scent isn't all that pleasing to me but is by no means harsh or bad. Once spread on the face, it's really creamy and almost becomes an oil. It can be used as a mask in two ways: as a 30-minute mask or an overnight mask to be washed off in the morning. I've tried both ways and would probably reserve the latter use for months like now when its cold and my skin is extremely dry. I think the oils in this whip really penetrate the skin well and get my skin back up to speed in the hydration department.

Verdict: This month's Pearlesque Box has a total value of $153 with the two featured products from SkinOwl. The Beauty Whip mask is nice and made my skin nice but just didn't set itself apart for me. There's something else I'd like to see to really impress me like an enchanting scent or a more interesting format. The beauty drops are the real winner for me this time and I'll be holding on to this bottle.

I unsubscribed because I’m sick of getting the same brands repeated over and over again.
I’ve received products in the past with literally only 2 uses in them, and I got screamed at by the owner on Instagram when I asked her a question about the value of items she was sending out in a purely coconut oil themed box. Yuck
3 strikes love and you are out!

1. The box has been around for about 4 years. Over the last year they have repeated brands that were featured in previous years, but not brands that have been offered recently. Also, they don’t duplicate products. If you get a box from the same brand, it will still be different items than came in previous boxes. 2. I’ve received every box since the inception of the box – I have never received anything that was only 2 uses. 3. I don’t know your experience on Instagram, but I have had nothing but positive interactions with the owner. She did lose her father in the last few months, so maybe she was in a bad mental space, although she should always strive to provide good customer service. 4. Overall, I just don’t think your comment is accurate, but you’re entitled to your opinion.

because your experience was different than hers doesnt mean she’s wrong.

You can go to the swap site and search for Skin Owl and see all the listings that show which boxes have featured this brand (and that people put the items up for swap, of course. If no one put it up for swap, then it won’t show up). Goddess Provisions sent a Skin Owl product about a year ago, too. I can’t remember if it was the whip or some drops.

Review made me even more sad I missed the cut off to sign up and missed this box. The PM drops are one of my fave products!

“I know I’ve received this very SkinOwl product in the past but I can’t for the life of me recall where.”
Pearlesque has done a Skin Owl box previously. As has the Detox Box . And I think there was another box as well, recently, who did a Skin Owl box, because I also have received this very product in the not to distant past and am also not sure from who. Lol

I loved the PM drops. It’s been my favorite facial oil so far – makes my skin feel like velvet the next day 🙂
