Mini Motherhood Survival Mailer Winter 2020 Review

I have to admit, I had no idea that Motherhood Survival now had a mailer to replace their "mini" box option that I used to review, so I was totally taken by surprise when I received this. I loved the floral pattern of the mailer and it really did feel like a cute little surprise that you forgot you sent yourself. Inside the box was a small card with their contact information and a card highlighting the items along with a nice note thanking us for our support.

Lauryn's Garden Makeup Remover Cloth - Retail Value $21.00

I am all about the makeup remover cloths and this one worked just as well as my usual brand, although it's not quite as soft. I love that you can use these with no makeup remover or soap; just add water and wipe your face clean which is such a simple and eco-friendly solution at the end of the day. For tired mamas, this can also eliminate the extra step of having to add cleanser to your face. These are also great for removing masks as well. This one is the same size as a typical washcloth and you can get a few uses out of these before throwing them in the wash to reuse.

Kinx Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner in Cream - Retail Value $15.00

This eye pencil is super light in color and shows up as a pearly white. The appeal for mamas is that it is a multi-functional product that can be used as an eyeliner, eyeshadow, brow highlight, or in the corner of your eyes. I did try it as an eye shadow, but the pencil is a bit firm and it was uncomfortable. Plus, since it is so light, the color was barely noticeable and just looked like I had highlighter on my eyes. It may work a little better with darker skin since it would probably pop with the contrast.

Here it is swatched as an eyeliner and spread out a bit like an eyeshadow. You can see it's barely noticeable on my pale skin.

I did have success using it in the corners of my eyes to make them pop a bit which is what I will probably continue to use this for. This eyeliner does have great staying power and the formula is supposed to be sweatproof and smudge-proof.

Verdict: This Mini Mailer from Motherhood Survival was a nice little surprise to receive in the mail! This would make a sweet gift for a mama friend without totally breaking the bank since it is only $15.00 (plus free shipping) per quarter. I will use both of these items and I can see why they were chosen for a mama-oriented box since anything that can make our daily routines a little easier and less time-consuming is usually appreciated! We also received a decent value since the total retail value comes to $36.00. I'm intrigued and eager to see how they continue to treat mamas each quarter!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

This box would be better suited to be called Makeup Survival as their current name doesn’t match the contents.

Survival makes me think about the necessities needed to get through a situation. I don’t think I’d need an overpriced polyester wash cloth nor brow gel to get through time with one’s child/ children.

Exactly! I feel like the contents of the TheraBox aimed at self-care would be more appropriate.

Besides not really understanding their target demographic (mothers), this really isn’t a great deal: a makeup remover cloth and little known gel eyeliner for $15. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Taesha

I would be disappointed because I don’t wear makeup.

Not really sure why this is is being cast as for new mothers. These two items don’t seem to relate to motherhood at all. I remember buying pampering gifts for a new mother one time and I included things like fuzzy slippers, not makeup.

Hi Randie, I don’t think this box is specifically targeted to new mothers, but just mothers in general! Sorry if I gave that impression!

Shel

I’m not sure why it’s targeted to mothers new or old at all.

katie

I agree. Not something I’d ever buy a new mother.
