Heart + Honey Queen Bee Box December 2019 Review

This month's Heart + Honey is the "The Elizabethan" box. Themed around the "Virgin Queen" and her reign and power, this box is sure to have some royal delights.

Always included is an info card with product and theme information.

English Soap Company 'Orange Blossom' Soap, 200 g - Retail Value $6.50 (£4.95)

I love the scent of orange blossoms, and this beautifully wrapped soap from England was a nice addition to this month's box since neroli is a fragrance that queens and other well-to-do ladies have been using to smell amazing for hundreds of years. It has such a strong and lovely scent that remains after you wash it off, and the shea inside keeps your skin super soft too.

Harney & Sons Tower of London Blend Tea, 5 sachets - Retail Value $4.00

How could you even do a British queen-themed box without including some amazing English tea? This black tea is combined with dried fruits, bergamot, and honey, and is delicious alone, though I added in some cream and sugar. An ode to the Tower of London (where Elizabeth's dear old dad Henry VIII sent a few of his wives), Elizabeth herself was a resident of this notorious locale, sent there by her own sister, Mary I, where she resided in her own executed mother's quarters until her release.

Coronation Earrings

I love how these earrings were chosen because they closely reference Elizabeth I's coronation look, but the quality wasn't as great as I normally expect from this box. I think my levers were actually attached backwards, though I could still wear them and this is an easy fix. I think these might be just a little too literal for everyday wear, but I love how they fit the whole curation and theme of this box.

Here is the look that inspired these earrings.

Love Button Arousal Balm, 0.45 oz - Retail Value $2.99

I love that this little tin was included this month because it is the perfect companion to our vibe below. This natural blend of oils, waxes, and peppermint oil cause greater blood flow to the areas you apply it, which makes these areas more sensitive and enhances pleasure. It is worth noting that this product is NOT latex safe. I personally thought the peppermint was not overbearing, unlike some of the other arousal products on the market that use mint.

The Elizabeth Vibe

I just have to say it: If you only have room for one vibe in your life, make it one of these kiss style toys. That circular opening releases little puffs of air that feel a lot like a sucking sensation in three different intensities. Oh, and it also WARMS UP. That is luxury. You can also use it as a normal vibe since the other end has 13 different patterns. This toy is made of gorgeous red silicone and features a crystal button fit for a queen! This is in my top three of all toys sent in this subscription, easily.

Verdict: Heart + Honey was so beautifully themed and curated this month. If you are a subscriber, this is not surprising, as this box is always beautifully and tastefully done. The toy this month was out of this world. Truly. One of my faves. I also loved the balm which worked beautifully with my new vibe, and the soap and tea were so over-the-top English and wonderful. I was not super into our earrings this month, but everything else more than made up for that.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first box will likely be the Papillon-themed January box. Normally your subscription will start the month following the month you subscribe, but if there are current boxes still available you may be able to snag one! Heart + Honey will usually reach out when you first subscribe if you have an option.

From Heart + Honey:

Subscription orders are taken from the first day of the month, until the last. Renewals occur on the 15th of the month. Month-to-month subscriptions will renew on a monthly basis, and 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions will renew in the correlating time frame. So for example, if you were to order a month-to-month subscription on the 12th of April, your first box will ship between the 1st-5th of May. Renewal will happen on the 15th of May.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I have been reading Megan’s H+H reviews for quite some time and have been intrigued, but something about this Elizabeth box just finally convinced me I needed to have this in my life. I purchased the single box and it arrived yesterday. Not to sound like a prude, but toy play is not something my husband of 18 years and I do although we’re open to it. This was a great entry point for us and OHMY – let’s just say that it’s quite effective. I ordered the Jan box too. I love the extras like soaps and bubble bath. Makes it feel like a pampering luxury and a the healthy self care gift that it is. Thanks for the classy review, Megan. Made it easier to take the plunge!!!

The curation in this box in particular is ON IT this month, but the fragrance of that soap – ew! So, so strong that you can literally smell it from another room. If you like the scent, that’s super awesome, but as someone who often doesn’t like (or is irritated by) scented products, I’m getting bummed that we’ve basically been getting one every month. Weirdly enough, a toy a month hasn’t been a problem, but we’re running out of people to gift soaps and oils and scrubs to!

Update: just realized that the soap I received was Winter Flowers, not Orange Blossom like seems to be way more common! So it’s cool to know that this is a variant…even if I’m bummed since “orange blossom” sounds way more my speed!

I think this box is swoon worthy but I live in a tiny house and unfortunately being overrun with vibrators won’t work for me. Makes me jealous everytime I read this review.

A terrific curation. Yes; the levers are backwards. The earrings are very pretty and certainly era-perfect. That Tower of London blend is what I have every morning! It’s simply perfect. The other team by Harney that I love is Black Currant. I purchase mine via Amazon. The tins are gorgeous, too.

Now this is a stellar curation.

I signed up for this during their Black Friday/cyber Monday promotion and after reading your reviews. It seems like they always have a great jewelry item in each month’s box. December’s earrings were one of the few misses I’ve seen. While it did go with the theme I also felt like the clasps were on backwards which is how mine were too. The vibe was excellent though and I liked everything else in the box. I will say this without giving away any spoilers but the January box curation is incredible and has been one of the best ones I have seen in person or seen reviewed. All the items were great quality too. Just FYI for those on the fence this box is worth it each month for me and I don’t get paid or get sent anything free to say that and I’m a mom wife and bargain shopper too😊

This is another box that I wish I’d been paying attention to all along. I’ve just read through all the reviews on this site for this box, and I’ve gotta say, this subscription probably has the best curation out of everything I’ve read! All other subscription companies should take note that this is how theme boxes should be done!

Right! I don’t want $400 of random promoted crap. I want something that I’ll actually use and not throw out when it expires. I used to have so many subs and would convince myself cause it was a couple hundred bucks of stuff for $50 and then I realized how much of it I will never or never opened and it was just a waste to me. This one feels like a thoughtful gift to me and my hubby each month that a friend put together. I can’t say that about others I’ve seen.
