Fortune Cookie Soap “Old Fashioned Family Christmas” November 2019 Review

Here is the info sheet for this month’s box.

Sparky Body Frosting - Buy the full-size 2.5 oz version for $12.99

FCS only makes the body frostings in the winter, which is probably because they would be way too heavy any other time of year- this baby is thicc. This makes me smell just like a lavish breakfast with notes of vanilla pumpkin waffles with pecans, brown sugar, and fresh whipped cream. Along with jojoba oil and shea butter, this is made with apricot and meadow form seed oils and would make a great deep moisturizing treatment by slathering it on at night before applying socks and sweats and going to bed!

Squirrel! Cuticle Butter - Buy the full-size 0.5 oz version for $8.99

This cuticle butter has a bouquet of fruits just waiting to nourish your nails with notes of apples, strawberries, plums, oranges, and a splash of lime. The formula is full of nourishing ingredients like lanolin, beeswax, and shea butter, and it really adds moisture to my oft-forgotten cuticles.

Fried Pussycat Perfume Oil - Buy the full-size version for $7.99

This perfume oil has notes of plum, caramel, vanilla bourbon, and jasmine blossoms. I like the mix of sweets with the darker note of bourbon, I just rarely use perfume oils so I will most likely pass this along.

Jelly of the Month Club Scent Diffuser - Retail Value $12.99

It feels like ever since FCS launched this product they have been including it in every box. Since it comes with a rope that makes it easy to hang I am using these regularly, but it still feels a bit repetitive. This scent has notes of strawberries, sticky syrup, vanilla sugar, and a squeeze of fresh orange, and it does add a burst of freshness to a musty room.

Moose Mug Fortune Cookie Soap - Retail Value $3.99

Ahh, hello you little namesake soap! This is scented with eggnog, and it’s made with glycerin to not be drying on your skin. I like it, but this isn’t a soap that will last a long time- in order to be folded into the adorable fortune cookie shape, the soap is pretty thin.

Jello Surprise OCD Hand Sanitizer, 1 oz - Retail Value $1.99

Hand sanitizer is one of those items that are always handy (har har) to have around. This one is scented with soft sandalwood and winter orchid with festive plum and zesty citrus. The scent is a bit much when first used because of the alcohol in the formula, but once that dries away my hands are both clean and delicately scented.

The Verdict:  National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is one of my mom's all-time favorite holiday movies, so I’m a bit disappointed in myself that I didn’t realize this collection was inspired by the Clark family until I sat down to write this review! This month's box contained small items, but many of the small items were still full-sized! I enjoyed all of the scents and thought this was an especially good box from FCS with the on-point creativity and overall curation.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you still sign up today? No. Sign up by January 13th to get the February box. From Fortune Cookie Soap:

The next month’s category will be revealed on the 10th of each month. If you don’t fancy it, simply log into your FCS account and skip it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $16.95 + free shipping, which means you are paying $2.83 per item.

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

From the FCS website:

Enjoy this fresh fragrance in your home, car, closet or office for a little personal touch to your surroundings. Perfect for school or work lockers!

Step 1: Unscrew the wood lid
Step 2: Remove the plastic plug and discard
Step 3: Screw wood lid back on
Step 4: Turn the bottle over and allow the fragrance to soak into the wood lid.
Step 5: Enjoy anywhere in your home, car, closet, or office

Anytime you want the smell to be stronger, turn it over and shake it.

I have mine hanging from my rear-view mirror in my car. Even with four kids it still makes my whole car smell amazing!

I have to continue to turn mine over every few days so the s wNt soaks into the wood. I smell it in about 30seconds
