Beauty Brands ‘Beauty Besties’ Box December 2019 Review

An information sheet was included, along with a coupon code for free brow tint with any Beauty Brands salon or spa purchase.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown, 0.024 g – Estimated Value $6.49 (Buy a full-size 0.085 g for $23)

My brow game is pretty low key- I usually just reach for a few swipes of a tinted brow gel and call it a day. I have used this pencil before, however, and I do like how it can fill in sparse areas or add more definition to the tail of my brow.

Ardell Elegant Eyes Lashes in Classy – ListedV value $4.99 (Buy a similar pair for $4.99 here)

I really only reach for fake eyelashes for special occasions or if I am really in the mood, and these will be perfect for holiday parties because these lashes actually have some sparkly glitter on them!

bareMinerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara, 0.05 oz – Estimated Value $2.57 (Buy a full-size 0.37 oz for $20)

This is good at defining each individual lash and lengthening them but doesn’t really do much for volume or curling. This is a great mascara for a natural look, but the hard mascara brush can be a bit uncomfortable if you’re used to soft wands. You can see me wearing it here.

Conair Scunci 5-Piece Headband Set – Buy a similar set for $6.29

I like using headbands like these to hold my hair out of my face when I’m applying skincare or doing my makeup. They’re a bit basic, and will definitely slip after a while if not pinned in place, but they’re comfortable to wear and don’t squeeze my head.

Sigma Beauty E25 Mini Blending Brush – Buy the full-size brush for $16

I will always take more makeup brushes- the more I have the longer I can go before I need to clean them (I make no apologies). This brush has a slightly shorter handle, but the bristles are the same length as a full-size brush. This did a great job of picking up and blending eyeshadow, and while it isn’t the softest brush I’ve ever used I definitely wouldn’t call it scratchy.

StriVectin BlurFector For Eyes, Lid and Undereye Brightening Primer, 0.025 oz – Estimated Value $2.19 (Buy the 0.33 oz version for $29)

This is a luxe brand I am always happy to sample. This primer is designed to go both on your lids and under your eyes and is made with ingredients like turmeric butter to color correct while the overall formula blurs imperfections. This performed well under eyeshadow and concealer, but I didn’t see any major differences that would justify going out to purchase the full size.

tarte Tartiest Lash Paint Mascara, 0.08 oz – Estimated Value $6.40 (Buy the 0.15 oz version for $12)

tarte mascaras aren’t my favorite, but this one is probably the one I would prefer most from the brand. It has a rubber wand that allows me to get close to the base of my lashes, and I do think this gives decent volume.

tarte Sex Kitten Eyeliner, 0.0035 oz – Retail Value $12

I’m a big fan of the Sex Kitten liquid liner, and this is a decent pencil version. I don’t feel like the black is as deep as you can get with a liquid liner or some other pencils (Urban Decay comes to mind), but it was easy to control and didn’t tug when I applied it.

Here I am wearing the tarte eyeliner, mascara, and the Anastasia brow pencil. My brows were in desperate need of grooming when I took this photo, so take my word that the pencil does a good job defining my brows when I don’t have caterpillars on my face.

Verdict: This box was all about eyes, and I thought it had a good assortment of items. I would have liked to see an eyeshadow of some type instead of receiving two mascaras, but I liked the brands that were chosen to be featured. I calculated a total estimated value of $40.93 for everything except the brow tint coupon and Sigma brush, which isn’t bad considering the affordable cost of the box.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yep! It is still in stock!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $20.95 ($15 + $5.95 shipping) which means you are paying $2.62 per item (not including the coupon).
