We loved these meals when we tried them but they don’t change meals often enough so my family got tired of eating the same things.

I tried this out because I try out all of the meal-kit companies in an effort to avoid an actual grocery store. I liked the concept of Freshly, in that the meals are fully cooked and only need to be reheated. I also ordered two different chicken dishes (the chicken parm and a chicken and rice bowl) and the chicken was well cooked and juicy even after heating in the microwave.

My only complaint about Freshly, and this was enough to make me cancel, is that there’s not enough rotation of meals. I’m a picky eater so there were only 3 meals I was willing to order and in the 4 weeks or so I had Freshly the menu never changed. Customer service claimed the meals changed seasonally but I just checked the menu and I still see 5 of the same meals from when I subscribed over the summer.

This is the deal I got in October, & had meals all through November!

It comes out to about $9 a meal if you get the 6-pack, which is a bit pricey, but I had a lot going on at the time, & knowing that lunches for work were all squared away for me was well worth it.

All the proteins were BEAUTIFULLY cooked (I mostly picked whole chicken breast dishes).

The thing I though was kind of a bummer was that the use-by date on these is really short. Like, they don’t even last a week, until the next shipment. I never had a problem when I ate the out-of-date meals, but it was… interesting, lol.
