Wicked Good Perfume "Sweater Weather" Review November 2019
A few things to note about these fragrances:
- They are formulated without phthalates, parabens + petroleum
- These are vegan and cruelty-free and they use sustainable ingredients that are responsibly sourced
- I am not a huge perfume lover because they usually give me headaches, but these unique, handcrafted fragrances do not!
This month's theme is Sweater Weather and boy is it ever! On one side this card lists the products, the scents they contain and their retail value, while the back has some information about their box review contest.
Pumpkin Spice Bath Bomb - Listed Value $6.00
Our first product is a generously sized bath bomb in the quintessential fall scent of pumpkin spice. This has notes of heirloom pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon sugar and the scent certainly hit me (in a good way) as soon as I opened my box this month. I mostly get the sweet smell of pumpkin at first with a nice spicy finish. I haven't had the chance to use this yet (three kids - I barely have time for showers!), but I know it will be a treat when I do get the chance to indulge in a nice bath!
Harvest Moon Incense - Listed Value $10.00
I was excited to see something a bit different this month in our box in the form of this incense! This container with a twist-off lid features seven little cones in a scent aptly named Harvest Moon. It has hints of fig, lavender, neroli, sandalwood, cassia, cypress, and cinnamon. Wow! I haven't burned incense in a very, very long time, but I was happy to experience this unique blend of scents. The burn created a smoky atmosphere that was both earthy and spicy with a hint of that fig at the forefront. I enjoyed it a lot!
Apple Cider Perfume Oil Roller, 10 ml - Listed Value $18.00
I am not big on fruity scents as perfumes (with coconut being the exception), but this apple cider roller was delightful! This is a blend of aged bourbon, red McIntosh apple, cinnamon stick, and clove bud. You could definitely smell the fruity apple notes at first mixed with the cinnamon, and while I was afraid it would be too sweet for my tastes, it ended up blending together with that bourbon to create a warm, cozy scent. While I loved the scent, I did feel like it faded quickly and didn't carry well so I will probably use this as more of a cozy, calming oil to put on before I curl up with a good book under the covers!
Sweater Weather Perfume Absolute, 1 oz. - Listed Value $29.00
Our perfume spray this month is a blend of white sage, juniper berry, aromatic eucalyptus, and fresh woods. This was another fresh, clean scent that is easy to wear. The notes of sweetness from the juniper berry were the strongest followed by the subtle scent of sage. The end result was a very airy, herbal scent. This perfume is formulated with organic cane alcohol which made it a bit stronger and longer lasting than our roller, but it still was not an overpowering scent. I felt that I was exuding the clean fragrance without stifling anyone around me, which is exactly the level of scent throw I like. They offer a sweater weather scent here, but I am not 100% sure it is the exact same blend we received!
Verdict: This month's "Sweater Weather" box from Wicked Good Perfume was such a nice treat that just touched on some fall scents without overdoing them. I was excited to see two scented products that were not perfumes, but still smelled wonderful and perfectly complemented our perfume roller and spray. I think the scents are all incredibly unique and the fact that they all fit within a theme makes them even more fun to receive. I also love the minimal, sophisticated packaging! The total listed retail value comes to $63.00 which is great for a $25.00 (including free shipping) box of high-quality fragrance products. This is only my second box, but I am really loving this sub so far!
