The Organic Bunny Box October 2019 Review

organic bunny goft box inside outer box

You get a really nicely designed and sturdy reusable gift box each month that houses all of your organic goodies. It changes designs but this month has the same illustrated cactus theme as last month. It ships in an outer cardboard box to preserve the nice gift box. The Organic Bunny Box doesn't include an info card but normally has all the items listed on their website by the time it arrives.

Bakeology Chocolate Chip Crunchy Cookie Bites, 1 oz. - Buy a 6-pack for $8.94

I feel like it's been a while since The Organic Bunny has included a snack, so it was nice to see this bag of gluten-free vegan cookies. They remind me a lot of my favorite chocolate chip cookies - Famous Amos. They are crunchy, mini, and even though mine came a little busted up, they were really tasty and hit the spot when I had a sweet tooth at the office after lunch.

Étymologie Probiotic Vitamin C Serum, 0.5 oz. - Retail Value $72.91 USD ($94.00 CAN)

Each subscriber either got this Vitamin C Serum or their Total Hydration Serum. This probiotic facial oil smells fantastic due to the neroli and rosemary oils inside and contains omega 3, 6 & 9 fatty acids that even out the skin while hydrating along with vitamin C and other organic ingredients. Not only was my skin soft and moisturized after using this, but it also had a glow to it.

Flow Cosmetics Hemp Butter, 4.4 oz. - Retail Value $25.45 USD (23,00 €)

As I'm sure I've said many times before, hemp butter and other heavy balms like this are great for that wintery chapped skin that will soon show its face. This solid quickly turns into an oily liquid when warmed in the hands and comes in a handsome black tin with a lovely mint green label. Only a small amount is needed to smooth over dry skin while the subtle scent of lavender and tea tree oil soothes the senses on a crisp day. This tin should last close to an eternity.

Frank & Whitman Mount Airy Hair Serum, 1 oz. - Retail Value $24.95

Mainly, this hair serum is meant to be added to damp hair, but I've been using it suuuuper sparingly at the ends of my locks to smooth out my split ends or tame flyaways and frizz. I love the scent included here which has vanilla and lavender. Never thought that'd make such a great combination, but it does. This is an oil that isn't super heavy and so little is needed to achieve the desired results so you can use it for quite a long time.

Luna Nectar Anti-Stress & Sleep Magnesium Oil, 1.01 oz. - Listed Value $14.00 (Buy full-size 3.38 fl oz. for $33.00)

This anti-stress and sleep oil comes in a fine misting pump that is perfect to spray onto my pillow at night. I like that it can also help relieve migraines which I don't get often, but when I do, UGH. The ingredients inside are simple: distilled water, magnesium chloride, aloe vera leaf juice, lavender essential oil, and sweet orange essential oil which produces a heavenly and relaxing atmosphere that makes drifting off or slowing things down a whole lot easier for me. Just a pump even at my desk makes me feel a little more at ease. I love the black glass bottle as well.

Odylique Mascara in Black, 7 mL - Retail Value $33.00

Natural mascaras don't always pack as much of a punch as some non-natural ones, but sometimes that's a good thing. This one from Odylique came in black, but it isn't deeply pigmented or caked with product. The wand is simple and cylindrical with a tapered end and doesn't deposit a gloopy mess onto my lashes. It stays clean and is buildable so you can add layers for a more dramatic look. It certainly defines my lashes and makes them pop.

Ogee Gentle Glow Cleansing Cloths, 10 ct - Estimated Value $6.33 (Buy three 10 ct packs for $19.00)

I actually don't love these. It's hard to get me to stray from my beloved Neutrogena wipes and these too fall a bit flat for me. They almost seemed a little dried out and weren't as wet as I'd like to really get all the makeup off of my face. They may be a bit gentler, but they left me wanting more power.

taïla Illuminating Toning Mist, Listed Value $24.00 (Buy full-size 2.5 fl oz. for $55.00)

I like that this toning mist suggests doubling as a makeup setter, but the nozzle on this pump is just not fine enough to pull it off for me. It takes a good 2-3 pumps to get it to even out and just delivers a bit too much which makes me feel like I'm being squirted in the face with a water gun. The scent is also a little different than I'm used to and has a sweet fruity smell that I don't particularly care for. While I'm sure this is the perfect toner for someone, that someone just isn't me.

Verdict: Organic Bunny Box sent some great cold-weather items to kick off fall and anything that I didn't love in the box (like the toning mist and wipes), I'll be passing on to a friend. This box consistently delivers brands that I'm not familiar with which always blows my mind taking into account how many products cross my desk each month. My faves this time have to be the sleep oil, serum, and mascara. I love that everything is made with natural and organic ingredients to keep things simple. The serum alone has a retail price of more than the $59 cost of this box, so the value is definitely there!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No- this box is gone but sign up now to get November!

Value Breakdown: At $59.00 for this box, you're paying approximately $7.38 per item.

I would like to see a review of 3 comparable products. Organic, Natural and 1 that is not either. I have used all natural and also organic. I honestly do not feel that they always stack up to some of my go to products. It would be interesting to hear a review and other’s opinions.

This looks like a wonderful box, but $59 on a monthly basis is a bit steep…do they offer quarterly options or the ability to skip a couple months at a time?

You can purchase them as a one-time box for the same price as a subscription. That’s how I purchase my boxes, and I never have to worry about cancelling. 🙂

For the most part this looks great but I don’t understand why you would pass off something that was not good “to a friend” and try to make it sound like a good thing. Do your friends enjoy dried out facial wipes and being squirted in the face with a water gun?

Hey, ya never know. Everyone has different needs! Someone with no toning mist at all may take the extra step to spray it onto a cotton round whereas I have the luxury of having others that mist well and can finely go right to my face. Just trying to look on the bright side in hopes that it works for someone else. 🙂
